It had been a week or so, and Dianne couldn't get that damn man out of her mind. She didn't like him, no. But how much he infuriated her, she wished she could just strangle him and leave him be. But the facts are the facts, and motherhood is not easy. Especially when you have five squalling children that had feathers, beaks, and huge appetites. This fairy was in love with one thing, and one thing only. She loved the forest, and that included everything in it. Everything that was there from the beginning, at least.

"Haul your bones, lazy ass."

She whipped at him, trotting ahead with the pack of griffin babies bouncing around, kitten-like at the moment. She was taking them to a more permanent home, her own home away from home, because she didn't like living in a cave all the time. Besides, the pixies were annoying. Dianne spun on her heel, stopping for a moment to make sure he was still behind her. She didn't believe that he would run away anymore, but at times she wasn't sure about him. The thick foliage, heavy and green, did nothing to hamper her, but, she thought with a wicked twinkle in her eyes, he was at least four or five inches taller than he was.

"Come on guys."

Bouncing on the balls of her feet she was back off, the pack on her back looking very light, although it wasn't. Although Dianne had sat there and evenly distributed everything into two packs, she had taken secret delight in choosing the one that looked lighter. It took less than a few more minutes, although they had been hiking for several hours, for her to pause again, looking confidently at a patch of green shrubs that looked excatly the same as everything else in the forest.

"Home!"

And slipped right through the bushes, which actually opened into a clearing, bewitched by magic to stay hidden.

"There. Home until they get too big to keep here."

A fire ring sat comfortably, big and clean, with an oven made from rocks covering half of it, and a spit covering the other half. Near that was a small hut, with a dirt floor and two rooms that were simple, like everything else that was in the clearing.

"So, machoman. Go check it out."

Amber walked a path in the middle of a forest. She was traveling, trying to find something to do. The past, well, 3000 years had been as boring as hell, and there was many more years left of nothing more. She had just exited a village in annoyance where she was pointed at, and they all said the same thing- "Aww..She's  so cute." She sighed and thought it would be better than having people scream and run away when she was in kitsune form. The illusion that made kitsune look like humans had been most helpful. Either way....her life wasn't easy. She sat in a tree and looked up into the sky. "Is there anyone in this place that's not an idiot?" She heard a shuffling noise and some talking and she sprang up to a higher branch. She saw a few creatures she couldnt see from here and wished her eyes worked better in light. She squinted and saw that there were baby griffins running around. She wished she didnt look like an anime chibi. She followed silently, leaping from tree to tree. She saw them go through some bushes and followed. They..dissapeared? She thought her eyes were playing tricks on her. She kept jumping in the bushes, but didnt see anything. Amber suddenly felt the presence of magic. She was back in the tree in an instant, and closed her eyes. "Illusion..release!" When she opened her eyes again, she saw a clearing that was their home, she guessed. 'hn, I guess they were traveling..they probabaly wont be running around much with that group.' She had no intention of doing anything..just watching.

((Yay! I miss my Mona / Keeci!! <3 And I miss this character pairing!! XD))

Machoman? ...MACHOMAN?!!? What kind of a frigging nickname was that?!

OK, so maybe the damn fairy had a slight tactical advantage – she knew where she was going in this hellhole of a forest, but it was only a slight teensy weensy one, if any, at that. Delaine stubbornly refused to acknowledge that he was better off following this witch in a brat's disguise.

He'd been following her around for a whole week now. That was seven whole days of his life that he would never ever get back. And seven whole days that had now been seared into his brain forever, like a big fat ugly flesh wound. Oh boy, it would leave a scar.

"Home? You mean you have yet another hideout?"

The last one had been booby trapped.

...Hence Delaine's incredibly large suspicion.

He really wanted to say something horrible. He really did. He wanted nothing more than to tell those bird-brained...birds to shut up. Funny thing was, he didn't know if they understood him or not...the way they looked at him with those beady eyes, paused, and then carried on squawking even louder than before.

Uncanny.

But, the fairy wench had slipped in before him, so on that reasoning, it must be safe. No flying rocks and blue lightning and what not here. Delaine cautiously entered, eyes roaming the sparse dwelling intensely, for any sign of any tricks. The place was quite clean for a manky cave in the forest. On a quick inspection Delaine came to the conclusion that there were no nasty surprises hidden here for him, and decided to voice it aloud. Well, he didn't, but the curse that was upon him decided to make itself evident.

"I see that your dwelling is free from any unwarranted surprises, milady."

Urgh. When nobody was looking, Delained tried to bang his head against the wall, but of course, he wasn't allowed to self-harm by the curse! So it just looked like a mild head-butt.

Great.

"What do you want me to do now," he said blankly.
