It had been years since he got here. Starting life out as a dirty thief, a haphazard killer, a dirty low down street-rat in the dregs of Adela. He had a name once, a nationality, a family of dirty theives, stealing, killing. Now, after many years of being little more than dirty thief and a wanted murderer, he was a Priest of Sanctuary, the place of peace and healing, spiritual and physical. Nothing didn't have any magical healing powers, and a wound when he was younger had left him mostly mute with a very obvious scar across his neck.

The scar was the birth of his new self, the selfless self, the one that provided strength and knowledge. It had been six years since Nothing, then known as Kouhuen, had arrived here, wounded, weak, lifeless, a priest had taken him in and shown him the wrong of his ways, and in an effort to make himself a spiritual tool, he'd given up his name and way of life.

Of course, living at Sanctuary as a priest, even if in the very back of his mind Nothing thought celibacy sucked worse than not having a voice. Though he kept that at the very back of his mind, knowing that craving company was forbidden. Well, company of the kind he was thinking of, silently Nothing gave a stretch, his back giving light pops from his night of meditation. Two nights a month he'd stay in the shrine and pray the gods for forgiveness for his horrible life.

He hated doing it, it made his joints ache and his knees hurt.

Being here for many years, he was allowed to do the one thing he'd never been able to do as a dirty street rat. Grow out his hair. Adelan by birth, Nothing (Who shall now be known as Thii) had dark skin and even darker hair with bright light eyes, his own a blue, standing at 6'2", Thii was nothing like a priest, attractive, broad of shoulder.

Thii was a warrior.

Or he would have been.

Pressing his hands into the others sleeves, his robes a cream and gold colour. It was early morning, he'd heard of another set of travelers coming, the royal emblem on their saddles, though it was none of his business unless the information was passed directly to him. He'd go for a walk for now, his steps silent as he walked through the many gardens and stopping at a small foot bridge to look at the water.

Clean, fresh.

Just like the beginnings one could make here. His head down and his hands held together in front of him, Thii looked like a living statue, his long dark hair picking up and shining bronze in the wind. Today would be an odd day with an even odder outcome. He felt it in his bones.

The fact that he was psychic helped.

The stench of mindless meditation lay thick in the air, Kael felt like a vampire seeing the sun for the first time his entire body already screaming for him to transform into his dragon self and bestow these fools some well earned light. But he decided against it in order get his answers. When he had stared enough at these people he decided to start out asking for what he needed. "Hey, you! By the bridge! Do you know where one can find an inn with a stable, within this place?"

Farrari rolled her eyes. She had only seen such behavior in movies. This was rediculous. She walked over to a rather shy looking munk and smiled. "Hi. I need some new clothes, as you can see. And possibly..." She leaned in closer so that the dragon wouldnt hear. "Are their any other places besides the royal library where I can find books on such things as dragonology, wizardology, etc?" She asked.
Those books would be the only way that she could possibly learn to survive here, in this realm. Other wise she would be in even more trouble than she already was. As she spoke her brown hair fell past her face. "Oh! And you may have my horse as food as well. I think its on the verge of death." She said thrusting a thumb in the horses direction.

(( OOC: You guys should read the description of Sanctuary *points up under forum rules on the message board* XD I don't think you get the setting completely. ))

It was a flury of movement. One moment the people that had been clouding his thoughts weren't there, then the next they were yelling at him. The other was making one of the healers nervous. Obviously they were travellers. Nothing moved off the bridge, his movements with a feline grace as small puffs of wind from the skys lips blew his hair over his shoulders and around his face, pale blue eyes cast on the speaker and his voice rang out but his lips didn't move. "An Inn? In Sanctuary?" Nothing lift an eyebrow and put his hands at his sides, tilting his head and blinking.

Guests were guests, and they looked weary and tired. The girl caught his attention, he sensed things, unusual things, and he moved to the monk she was speaking to and placed a hand on his shoulder and gave a nod. Nothing smiled at her before blinking at her after mentioning they could eat the horse.  "What? Eat the horse? He's a royal steed, we would send him off with other travellers should they need him if you gave him to us." Nothing spoke telepathically, he kept his mind out of theirs, giving them their all too obvious privacy.

His mental voice was an echo of his spoken one, a slight hollow sound. He tilted his head again and looked down at her, " This is a healers place, for Sanctuary from weariness and government. Fighting is not allowed," Nothing turned towards Kael and looked at him, sensing violent or something else. His expression smoothed and he placed his hand on Farrari's shoulder and moved her towards Kael, "This is not a library. This is a place of healing and scholars, we are not a religious cult, either."

Nothings other hand moved to Kaels shoulders and he pushed them gently away from the Shrine that was encased by the dragon skeleton. " You're a long ways into Sanctuary, even past the college and lodgings. It's this way, if you'll follow me. You can tell me what you're after while we walk," He nodded towards Farrari and smiled, "We have a healers college, and unfortunately the only information you can receive here is by mouth, unless you want to read up on healing. I can help if you let me, Miss."

He gave a pause, "Ah yes, I am called Nothing, but if you like, you may call me Thii."

"Who was he? Exactly how old is this place?" Kael wondered, obviously asking about the dragon corpse as he was pushed gently away. Awaiting an answer he let himself be escorted.
" Well, Nothing. I seek a necromancer from Ketra presumed dead. At the time he was one of the kings own magicians. He called himself Bael. And he lived somewhere in Ketra during the worldwide manhunt for magic users of the more inhumane arts. I am after his grave, his belongings or any of the indestructible scrolls he had in his possession at the time of his death."

(OoC: well Draco its up to you now, i havent got anything plotted beyond this point infact your pretty much free to say you havent got the faintest clue about anything, but you can use your imagination and have fun with them ;P for example " HE LEFT heading towards X spot or he was burned to ash and blown into the wind anything indestructible would probably be handed over to the royal wizard. Send him searching somewhere cool ;>  ).

Farrari went to stand by dragon man. With a shy smile she interrupted. Which she assumed was not proper behavior for a lady of the time. "Uhm can I please get some clothes?" She said becoming ever more embarrassed by her high heels and dress that slightly resembled something that came out of the 50's.  "And uhm....." She couldn't help it, she asked stupid questions she was dying to know the answer of. "Do you have fire eaters!?! And mermaids! And tight rope dancers!??!? And elves and and and drag-" She stopped short remembering she was talking to a dragon. Color came to her cheeks.

All the ideas of the magical mythic that could come to life in this realm whirled through out her mind. But she assumed they would treat her like a two year old if she didn't get what was going on in this world. Out of embarrassment she quickly shrunk away, but still looked at them for answers.

(( OCC: Sorry it took so long! I may change her powers so hold tight for the time being; continue to the topic!))

Light eyes turned towards the skull and looked back at the man before moving a hand to his face to stroke at his lips before pressing his hands together again in front of him, back straight and head held high before he spoke, "Sanctuary has nothing to do with Necromancy, it is against what we believe in and we do not take kindly to it. Necromancy is decay and death, what Sanctuary practicies is renewal and healing." Nothing cast his blue eyes towards Kael, his lips thin when he spoke, his voice echoing through the other mans head. " I am a priest of Sanctuary, I don't see why you would assume I'd bother to learn such useless information to a place like this, good luck on your quest." He gave the man a solemn nod and turned towards the girl, pushing them towards the outter layer of Sanctuary where the places with traveller clothes and food were kept for those that couldn't afford them for themselves.

When the woman spoke Nothing looked at her, "Of course you're going to get clothes, where to you think we're heading?" his 'voice' was soft and he offered a smile before continueing to walk towards the proper place. They moved far to deep into Sanctuary for what they were looking for. Moving ahead of them he entered into a large looking tent with a white cover, he returned a moment later with a pile of beige clothing and a soft pair of boots. " Here you are, enjoy your stay at Sanctuary, I wish I could be of better service to both of you, but if you ask politely, the healers here would be more than happy to help you. Don't ask about necromancy here, this isn't the place. He gave a bow pressed the clothing into the womans arms before standing and watching them, lifting his eyebrows and offering a smile.

Kael was fortunately not surprised at his reaction. He had elaborated the story as much as possible hoping to trigger some spark within the man but he seemed to be on a tight leash of self control. He could respect that as he himself was barely adept at that subject. "Suppose this man I am looking for sought refuge within this place and died here, where would his remains be?"

"At least tell me who the dragon is?"

He then turned his attention to the annoying woman. "Fire eaters? Tight rope dancers?" he looked at her with fascination but left it at that. "I can show you a place, where death is only the beginning, I can show you a government rejecting the great gifts bestowed upon them, I could even show you a treasury filled to the brink of, well treasures of course.
Just follow me further."

So maybe they didn't have those things here, maybe they didn't have such things as tight rope dancers or fire eaters. What kind of fantasy realm was that anyway? They can have magic but no gypsies, mermaids or any of that stuff? Or maybe it was a simple stare of fascination that she even questioned the existence of those characters that he grilled into her brain.
Now they went off to find a dead body. Great. What were they going to do some voodoo crap? Well she simply could not let that stuff infect her aura or universe. So with an eye roll she went over to the tent where a seamstress stood. She smiled.
"Hi! I need some clothes, mine got uh...ruined." She said trying to explain her modern clothes.
"Here ya go my dear." She said pulling out a simple peasant dress, but still a nice dress none the less. The bottom was a pale blue with a small back corset, she had no idea how to tie one but decided she could figure it out.
Farrari was about to go back to the dragon man and monk but decided against it, they didn't like her that much after all. So instead she began wandering around until shefelt she knew her way around. As she walked she saw what looked like a small white tail, she walked over to it and she watched as it flitted away, with persistence she followed the little thing. Then after a while she saw what it was, a unicorn! A three foot high pure white, nearly pale blue unicorn. It gave her a scared little look and buried its head in the corner. She carefully bent down and smiled.
"Shhh shh its ok." She slowly put a hand out, the unicorn looked at her curouisly. "Come here baby its ok." the unicorn looked at her and immediately ran into her arms. It was at that moment a shadow was cast behind her, that slightly resembled the monk and dragon man.

Nothing frowned slightly and looked down at the folded clothes in his arms, then back at the retrating form of the girl. How rude, he went out of his way to escourt these two to the outter layers of Sanctuary, were the travelers stayed, where they set up momentary places to rest before they went forward. This wasn't an Inn, this wasn't a regugee camp, this wasn't a burial place, this was... Sanctuary. The Priest just looked down at Kael, blinking slowly at him, daft, the both of them. One was rude and ignored him after he'd plainly offered clothing to her, and now this one, the man, made Nothing want to sigh and go to bed.

" If the one you seek is a necromancer he would have been asked to leave before he could die, if he was not, his remains would have been given to the family or the city to dispose of." He stood taller and looked down his nose at Kael, tilting his head to the side, his mental voice taking  a tone deeper and he rose an eyebrow, "If you dare turn any soil on these grounds for your own disgusting, selfish search for power you'll be asked to leave Sanctuary and never return."

He gave a polite bow and moved towards the rude girl who was hugging a unicorn. How did that get here? "You should return the little one to it's home Miss." He gave a small smile and another nod before turning around and facing Kael, " Ah yes, the dragon, her name is FiFi, FiFi The Large, now if you'll both excuse me, I have more important things to attend to." Nothing gave another nod and a small bow before turning to leave, rolling his eyes at the pair, as long as they didn't cause trouble in Sanctuary he wouldn't have to deal with them again.

He hoped they would quietly leave. He doubted that was going to happen.

"What can possibly be that important than telling me who that dragon was." Kael rolled his eyes around, obvious to him the dragon was not important and in all probability given the nature of said bones it wasn't farfetched to say that they where using it as a beacon for something.

The man called Nothing, had if anything proved that Necromancy was still despised. Despite the fact that most of its users had fled for Thanatos a long time ago. "Wait here, Pet." He yelled at the woman already darting after the monk.

"Wait you walking sack of bones!" His blood wasn't boiling yet but clearly this man had just offended everything he stood for. The fact that he had showed the man little respect or thought of him as a reanimated information booth was besides the point.

"What did you mean? Disgusting? A selfish search for power? And you are doing something better for the world by hiding behind a pact of non violence and meditation? Exactly witch one of us is the most selfish one?"

Anonymous

She had bearly heard him call her 'pet'. But when it did register she looked up at both the men and held the unicorn protecivly. It burried its head in the layers and layers of her new dress. She looked at the dragon man and raised eye brow then slowly stood. "Its Farrari." She siad with a small smile.

Then, turnint to the monk she held the animal in her hands. "This is a sancuary, so I'm srue it came here, no family. I can feel it." She said, the small warm body next to hers.

As she listend to the two fight they both had poitns, but the dragon mans took her the most. She couldht help but look at the monk. "Are you saying that its all 'for a cause' who knows what you could be doing, hidding blackeness under pure white robes."

Anonymous

Stopping, his hands at his sides he simply blinked at the two, a small frown on his lips as he listened, an eyebrow arched. " A mature way of getting a mans attention, " He smirked slightly and watched the strange man, Nothing was doing everything he could to retain his facade of a good man, he was trying to hard not to revert to his old ways and just introduce his fist to this stranges mans face. Nothing leaned in and looked down at Kael, keeping blue eyes even on his, his face neutral. " What is reviving long dead bodies anything but selfish, and disgusting, they've died, let them rest. Yet you're so intent on finding some long dead necromancer to do what? If not for some sort of exchange of power then there's no point in reviving him."

Pressing his hands down the front of his robes, gold, dark gray and beige he moved his hands out to look down at them. " I admit I am here for selfish reasons, but what I do here is anything but selfish. What do I get out of giving your friend clothes? What do I get out of showing you both where you can rest the night before you go off on your journey again? I get nothing. You are the selfish one, and seem not to care for anyone but yourself. Leave the dragon alone, it rests, it's moved on to a different vessel and left it's gorgeous bones to Shrine us."

He turned towards the girl and just stared. She was holding a baby horse, a unicorn sure, but it was still related to horses. What...? Obviously she was far from human, not that Nothing really cared anymore, he'd been interested in the people with the Adelan symbol on their saddles, but now he knew why they were given royal horses. They were damned annoying. " Miss, you should put the Unicorn down, they're wild animals and it could gore you with it's horn...-" He paused long and just stared at her, amazed that she would say such things right to him. He wished more than anything that he still had his voice, because he wanted to yell at her.

" How dare you say such things about Sanctuary! This place is for healing and people who want to better themselves, Adelans who want to leave an offering for the faeries, for travellers who need to rest because they are weary on their feet, yet you both feel the need to insult what this place stands for." He cast his blue eyes on Farrari before turning back to Kael, before taking a breath and closing his eyes and licking his lips, his expression falling into a neutral one again. " You two may rest here, but I expect to see both of you gone by tomorrow, you've used up most of your welcome by insulting this place and one of the Priests if I find you here tomorrow I'll personally escourt you out." Nothing knew that he wasn't quite allowed to do that, but he was fed up with these two.

They were daft anyway, so it wasn't like they would know any better. The priest gave a bow and nodded to both of them. " Enjoy your stay at sanctuary, even though I don't agree with them, I do hope you find your answers. Please do not pester the residence here, if I catch wind that you're causing trouble I'll make sure you have you barred from entering here anymore. This place is for everyone, true, but if you take to starting fights or causing troubles the ending will not be in your favour. Good day." Nothing turned around and started to walk off again, to the large dragon skull that housed the Shrine.

Kael hid his face within the palm of his hand for the second time. This man was like his masters, always steps in front of him within a conversation, the girl didn't make it any easier. "Damn it woman. At least you serve as a reminder that it could be worse. I could be you." He laughed it off while brooding over what the man had said.
If anything he would have to thread lightly around the subject of necromancy during conversations with anyone else. His inexperience with talking with people from outside Thanatos was undoubtedly showing.

He silently thanked the man yet couldn't bring himself to say it out loud to him. If anything this man sided with mages and was content leaving the world to rot. "Well, one less man to worry about. Pet, We leave at first light next day."

He would have to find somewhere he could talk with his masters later on. "I guess I do feel a need to insult people within a place like this."

Anonymous

Farrari shrugged and hugged her new unicorn closer to her body. She looked at him with curious eyes. "So. What exactly is it thaty ou want me to do as your servent? Clean out your cave? Fetch a magical talismen?" She asked, many fantasy ideas rushing through her mind. Then the realistic ideas came. "Kills someone!? Or..." She looked at him. "You wouldnt dare!" She said putting her unicorn down and standing up on her toes, jabbing his chest with a finger.

Anonymous

"Well, i haven't thought about that part yet." He said with a wide grin stepping back to avoid her jabs. "I guess I just wanted a servant. A partner that doesn't report everything I do back to my teachers. The gods know i have my hands full of their constant pestering already. Guys like that monk makes me wonder why I even bother anymore." He said it in an aggressive manner before turning around leaving her to stare at his cape, refusing to admit that he was lonely and had wanted an unbiased friend.

"Look, I don't know the reason anymore. I did it on a whim. Ok?" he stuttered out. Now even angrier with himself he walked away in a fast pace towards the shrine once more. At least Fifi wouldn't ask questions that he didn't want to answer.
Even the name Fifi was rather pathetic for a dragon. He wondered if the monk had made it up, but decided against it.

He didn't desire to get burned in a discussion with someone wiser than him again, crossing bridges and gardens to reach his destination. Fifi's skull was a testament to the fact that immortality did not mean invincibility.
He found a quiet spot where he could sit and observe without getting in anyone's way so he could think. "If tomorrow never comes, would I live any differently?" he asked himself. The answer was a creeping yes.

Regardless of how it had happened, starting from that moment on he decided he would treat her as a friend and not pretend she was anything less.

She suddenly felt alweful. At the sound of rustling bushes she turend around to see a majestic unicorn the size of a horse. She smiled and respectivily curtsied and walked away as the baby found its mom. Then she ran over to find the dragon man and make amends. As she ran her hair bounced around her face. Holding fast to her dress she ran around until she found him by the reminents of a dragon. She put the dress down and walked over, sitting crosslegged by him.
"Listen, I'm sorry I got mad. I'm just not used to how things work here...Its so unreal. Lets be friends?" She looked over at him and smiled. "Besides, I bet I could kick your butt anyways." She said with a playfull wink.

Anonymous

Surprised by her use of words and the fact that she had challenged him yet apparently stood there unafraid, was she fearless or just stupid? "Ok. Lets be friends. Just remember your conversation with the monk and keep your mouth washed with soap when speaking to people. Things here on the mainland are never what they appear to be."

"Lets start with the obvious, my name is Kael and I am a black dragon, skilled in the arts of living death. How do you presume to kick my ass?" He said with a smile.

Anonymous

WEll she couldnt really help it, she didnt know how things worked there. Still she listned and kept in mind to keep her mouth shut more often, perhaps she should appologize to the monk. It was best to make friends in unfamiliar tereritory, not enimies.
Farrari smiled back. "I am farrari and I'm from another demension. THAT is how I intend to kick your ass." She said with a smile. "But chainging into a dragon is no fair."

Anonymous

"The world is rarely fair." He said grimly. "I desire to break the chain of command, to obtain the power to overthrow the powerful and take their place. To do that I require the power of Feldeath, supposedly the person who discovered how to tap into that aspect left clues as to how, somewhere. The Royal libraries or his majesties royal mages quarters would be perfect locations for such scrolls but I'm afraid I do not possess the powers to sneak in there undetected." He didn't brood long about it considering his new friend would most likely want more answers. "At least the trip wasn't totally wasted." He placed a hand at her shoulder. "So! How can I help you my friend?" he asked her.
