A carriage was still running smoothly down the road, a set of two well bred horses dragging it along while another set rested well, being tugged gently along. Going at a leisurely pace the driver doing his best to avoid major holes in the road.

The armed escort and Adelas banner was perhaps a dead give away that this was someone of somewhat importance. It was just the natural way of evolution. The lord sending away his only son to improve cross country relationships.

While the name Sutherland wasn't particularly huge or known. The lord had at the time been able to provide the demands he had given for contract fulfillment.

Draconi forest was whispering gently in the dusk, Eid could hear it whisper a sweet yet terrifying song, the same kind of song a mother would sing to her child before dying. He had seen that once, but that was a long time ago. Much like the hint of wrinkles in his face any memory worth remembering now layered itself on others.

A basilisk hissed. A pack of wolves unleashed their majestic howl's from the blackness and some horses winced nervously in return. The soldiers were not battle hardened, but at least they had been trained by veterans. That had to account for something,

Sir.Stevens had done what any man his age unable to continue his service within the military would have done. Lords paid good money for good instructors but even better to have these instructors aid in protecting their treasure. His cowardistic nature and will to die of old age was profound and reasonable. Their middle aged and knowledgeable gazes met, he didn't even need to knock on the window before Eid opened it.

He had grown a slight beard, the subject of constant trimming, his wife had demanded that the man looked properly whenever possible. A fine woman whom had been sent a generous gift in return for being stubborn on that particular subject.

"Even the young lord manages to sleep soundly, surely you can relate to that. Sir Stevens?"

"this unnatural song. Never once have i heard anything like it."

Now that the window was open you could hear the music from the forest increasing in volume and depth. Cold and moist air, rich and carrying with it that bestial lure along with the cold sweat of cowering men trying their best to hide fear.

" You know as well as I do that there is nothing anyone of us can do against the Wraiths and ghosts of this forest. Everyone here will most likely be alive to see dawn and that's what matter's."

Closing the window again. There was no reason to await any sort of reply. He could already guess what the man's rebuttal was. The coward would obviously if given incentive to do so turn the entire carnival around and flee back to the mansion and his comfortable bed.

Eyeing the sleeping child while bringing up a porcelain cup, methodically cleaning it with a self washed white silk cloth. Putting it away while opening the jar of honey. This sweet and alluring substance could and would bring about the best of moods when paired with herbs in the shape of a tea.

Magically preheating water inside a kettle, adding the ingredients of mothers tea, capable of preventing both cold and fever. Most suitable for this situation. Then bread, made in small sizes and wrapped in cloth to prevent the freshness from leaking out. Praising fate for being born with magic, These tasks would have indeed been harder to carry out without.

"Nudging the master to waken by sending the aroma of tea intruding into his nose, awakening the brain to subtle interest in food. The rest would follow suit in turn. Just like the sun would be rising within moments.

Bringing out the cheese, dried meat and corn. Apple was due as an after snack. "Master, breakfast is prepared."

Anonymous

The aroma of warm tea and fresh bread entered the young lord's nose, taking merely seconds to awaken him from his sleep. Scott slowly opened his eyes, staring at his butler's friendly face.

He sat up straight without speaking, yawning or stretching, simply blinking his eyes a few times to fully awake. He then accepted the tea his butler Eid had prepared so well, and let the warm steam coming out of the cup moisten his face before taking a sip. "morning." he spoke direct and pretty toneless, yet his open voice got the message to sound friendly as he stared outside of the window.

Eid took the cup of tea and handed him a meat sandwich he had just prepared, for any other lord this would have been brutality and unacceptable behavior, yet for Scott it was exactly what he wanted. He had known Eid for five years now and expected of him to act on his needs, even without ordering him to do so.

He started eating breakfast and awarded Eid with a friendly smile, he was the only person who had never let him down, a perfect butler.

Quite some time passed until Scott was finally finished eating his wealthy breakfast. "How much longer do we have to go?" he asked Eid, having no clue on what time it was. The young lord did have patience, yet he was always strict in planning and wouldn't allow a minute to go to waste.

Anonymous

Eid observed his master eating, he had never asked for another cup of tea in years but you never knew. It is a butlers business to always be prepared for such things.

Eyeing the window, sun wasn't up quite yet but it would do the lord good to see it rise from outside. For Scott to be locked up here for safety's sake would be detrimental.

Smiling content at the lord's childish impatience, if anything it was proof that Scott was still a child at heart. A good sign, with the day already preplanned. It was no use telling him more than what was right in front of his nose because doing so made it predictable and boring. Ringing the carriage bell to signal a stop.

"There is still quite allot of ground to cover. Your horsemanship is quite lacking and that is what we shall be improving while we have time."

Horsemanship training meant exploration, fun and adventure. Generally speaking what people considered a waste of time, but a lord needed these times of freedom. If only so he could bask in their vivid memories while suffering silently during some lecture, a boring party or worse.

It wasn't long after that you could hear a rather rested set of horses being brought forward. Sir Stevens had probably taken an educated guess based on last day's similar event's when the lord had finally managed to mount a horse without much aid.

One of the reasons Eid liked the aging knight. Given time and training even he too would have made an excellent butler. Doing his best to quietly knock onto the door with his plated fist

The butler checking his internal clock before giving a satisfied smile. Opening the door at full, drying the moist drops coming from the roof so the lord wouldn't get wet simply by exiting the carriage.

Inspecting the horse with an experienced eye, his handpicked grey spotted yet quiet and very accepting stallion was impeccably saddled. Sir Stevens holding the reigns, luring its attention with a set of apple's so it wouldn't notice the resolute but struggling lord in his attempts to mount it.

"Your horse is saddled and ready for your lordship." Bowing deep while presenting a hand to guide Scott down the carriage stairs. They had been trough these motions before, it wasn't common to accept the hand but it was provided for non the less.

Just like the ladies chair was available as accessory to offset the fact that he wasn't adult yet. The saddle perfectly adjusted and everything held tight so if the lord erred it wouldn't be because of equipment.

Anonymous

A surprised impression marked the young lord's face as he witnessed the awaiting horse, making him sigh deeply. The horse was big and intimidating, not to mention he was pretty scared about falling off, yet none the less he didn't want to appear a chicken and closed his eyes for a moment before getting out of the cairrage, putting his walking stick in Eid's presented hand.

"Fine.." he said slightly grumpy as he approached the horse in sturdy pace, not losing his cool or showing his fright for a second. He lifted his foot up high to reach the stirrup, stumbling a bit as he awkwardly climbed on top of the horse unsuccessfully. His foot had slid off of the stirrup while trying to climb up, his position ending with his belly on the saddle as his body lay limb over the horse.
"Ack! I can't do it!" he spoke agitated, his butt facing the others.

The truth was Scott was highly uncomfortable, it was hard for him to trust anyone, especially animals. Getting upon such an unreliable animal made him feel unsafe, it was way too far out of reach of Eid's protection. Not to mention the intimidating size of the horse irritated him.

Anonymous

Eid always the observer, improving the lords faults. Noting them for future reference but keeping silent. It would do harm to laugh in this situation. Instead swiftly darting to the other side to aid Scott in getting properly seated onto the horse. There! that was better. His tall height offsetting the rather large beast, providing a pillar to latch onto while climbing back up on the saddle.

"Of course you can do it my lord. It is only a matter of time and dedication. For now the focus is on the actual riding, the perfect mounting will come when your body has matured and grown."

Perhaps it had been to soon in staying back and let the lord mount by himself? No, the experience was good, that much was apparent. "This is something you must do by yourself and I'm confident that you will excel. Your feet there, yes and hold the reins."

Nodding for Sir Stevens to make the horse move forward, the bearded knight merely pulled the stallion to a leisurely pace by walking forward, still holding a nice juicy carrot as lure. It didn't mind the extra slightly worried and irritated weight.

Anonymous

Eid's help and words gave the young lord a feeling of safety and confidence. Scott had always thought highly of himself, so why wouldn't he be able to ride a simple horse? He sat up straight while holding the reins as the horse started moving, keeping a strict focused face yet obviously got annoyed as soon as he spotted the carrot.

What was this, riding lessons for toddlers?!
His anger got him to forget about the consequences as he pulled the reins, making the horse neigh loudly while scaffolding slightly taking a few steps backwards.

The unexpected movements impressed and scared him a little as could be seen from his alerted eyes, yet as soon as he saw the two men's faces he toughened up. Appearing a chicken was the last thing on his mind. He calmed himself by thinking that Eid would catch him if he'd fall, over and over again in his mind.

"I can do this" he said with a determined face, frowning. He pulled one side of the cord slightly, figuring out how to move the horse around corners. Suddenly his confidence overpowered him again as he whipped the reins he held on to ever so tightly, not a normal whip, a hard one followed by his command. "Go!"

Though his confidence immediately sunk away as the horse started galloping in high speed, his small body bumping up and down. He panicked, never before had he been so scared in his life. "Eid!!!!" he screamed desperately, holding on as tightly as possible. Besides, he hadn't learned how to stop yet, and the way the horse was galloping could have him fall off any moment.

Anonymous

Eid noticed the childish confidence rising past levels humanly possible. It was only a matter of time before the kid would do something silly, Watching as reins whipped the horse into a gallop the next thing that happened made Stevens step out of his way, the knight could have stopped the horse instantly but for some reason didn't.

Next the usually calm butler jumped a split jump onto the horse, his overly sized self as light as a feather, with two hands on the lords shoulders.

"Your butler is always ready for a challenge, how graceful and demanding of your servants lord. I knew you had a natural talent for adventure and fun. Now if you pull the reins to the sides, make him turn hard left in a continuous circle while leaning forward, gripping the mane to stabilize yourself further."

He was truthfully a feather on the rampant horse, calmly awaiting the lords reaction. Fear of falling off should subside soon, after all his butler was still present and accounted for. The galloping stallion only followed the dirt road path.. It wouldn't suddenly turn into the forest. Unless the lord erred further.

Anonymous

As Eid's hands touched the young lord's shoulders he lost a big load of fear, though his muscles remained tensed and the adrenaline continued pumping through his body. Regardless of the physical condition he was in he followed Eid's instructions precisely, eventually able to stop.

For a moment he just froze, sitting on the horse as it was now just standing there. His heart pace raced and as soon as he relaxed his muscles his body started shaking a bit, the situation had gone a bit too dangerous for Scott's liking, even though with Eid around he never really was endangered.

He cached his breath and turned a bit to look at his butler, obviously shaking slightly from the experience. "Fun?!" he said with a sarcastic smile and jumped off of the horse recklessly, his physical condition still in distress making him fall to the ground. It didn't hurt though and he simply got up, dusting himself off. "I have a safer definition of fun, I'm not getting on that thing again, not today" he said determined while walking back to the carriage. Sure he sounded a bit irritated from the experience, but he wasn't angry at Eid at all, which he of course knew knowing the boy for so long.

Anonymous

They had galloped quite a bit from their escort, it would take the boy several minutes to get back, while his butler simply marched behind him. Riding the stallion as if not a care in the world besides observing the young master.

As they got closer sir Stevens approached them, his trimmed beard and noble smile were appearing significantly more extravagant and youthful as a set of sunbeams surrounded them with warmth and light.

Presenting the lord with a short scabbard blade or long bladed dagger. Carefully forged to match the child and not a common adult. Scott had been granted it by his father on his tenth birthday. Many a soldier in their escort had stopped their usual tasks to eye the lord.

Eid whistled behind the master, as if trying to coo the very forest itself before conveying what had been on everyone's lips. "I believe it is time for your usual training to master the art of swordsmanship. A man who cant wield a sword will have a difficult time to appeal to the common soldier." Eid seemed to repeat himself when it came to such trivial matter's. He had been saying the same thing every time the lord was offered time to train his swordsmanship.

"My lord, I present to you, your sword." Presenting the shaft so Scott could draw it instantly instead of fiddling with the straps protecting it from the environment. The shimmer of golden threads holding dark leather together but other than the little extravagant detail it was a rather crude weapon.

Reym kept his face carefully schooled watching the young lord return after his antics with the horse. He wanted to laugh, but not really in a mocking way. The boy was going out and trying something new, there was nothing to ridicule in that. Besides, he could sypathize. He still hadn't fully grasped the intracacies of riding himself, and found horseback awkward. He was glad that the bodyguards were walking, he felt more at home on his own feet than trusting an animal to move properly. As it was, if trouble approached, he'd be able to act quickly.

Not that he anticipated much in the way of trouble, but they were here to prevent that, and he would do his duty.

A shortage of money and a desire to see some more of the world beyond his home prompted him to take on this bodyguarding mission. He was a bit excited to see what lay beyond the forest, but cautious as well. Though boetheri could be a common sight here in Adela, he wasn't sure how well he'd be recieved in the wider world. He kept his cloak close about him, and a small cloth mask - much simpler than his traditional fire spirit mask stowed in his pack - to cover his face as they approached cities.

He would be quiet and obediant and lay low...unless trouble brewed. The boy he was guarding seemed a cut above most nobles, eager to learn and act and grow to become something greater rather than sit back to grow fat on his riches. Even now his attendant seemed to be moving him on to new lessons. Reym had great respect for that, and so approached his guard duty with a serious resolve. He did not want to dissapoint.

A smile appeared on Scott's face when he saw his good old swords, well.. old? Four years was pretty old for Scott, after all, it's a lot of years from a child's point of view. "I guess a little playing couldn't hurt, I'll take the dagger for today" he spoke accepting the long bladed dagger.

For a while he glanced over at the soldiers, all of them resting though most of them didn't care to sleep. It were times like these he got reminded of how lucky he was, being the son of a lord owning a company of great potential. Not that being an escort was low in rank, escorts are looked up at by the majority of the people, it was the physical endurance they went through that reminded Scott of the people who were less fortunate.

But that's just how it was, there wasn't much anyone could do about it. Besides, Scott had respect for all professions that took equal or more effort to do then his own. "Who shall be my opponent for today, you?" he asked his butler, since Eid had always been his opponent, yet with Sir Stevens around he had gotten slightly confused.

Anonymous

"A lord does not ask who the opponent is, a lord chooses his opponent." Something had Eid slightly riled up, he was more tense than usual, only his lord would know but hopefully he would not try to indulge his curiosities. The forest was too quiet, it was all too quiet.

Sir Stevens looked over the young lords shoulder, oblivious to that sort of thing.
His beard moving around almost covering the upper lip. It was an odd motion of sorts, the man obviously enjoying himself to the boot now that the forest seemed to have calmed down and light was warming everything with its touch.

He felt soothed by the wind as it gently embraced his polished plate uniform. "May i remind you to warm up, practice the basic eight forms that our Adelan swordsmanship rises from and when you feel ready. Move on to the more noble 16 formed noble style more suitable for one on one. If you so desire another opponent than your butler. It would be common courtesy to warn them so they too may have a chance to warm up or at least prepare themselves."

Then the stallion winced and Eid took a big whiff of the same air. Smelling it and tasting it. Yellow eyes flickering all over the place.

That worried frown while pursing his lips. He had only had that look once before and that had been during Scott's first real blade duel. Looking down on the lord as if considering his options or chances of survival.

"Lord Scott, Sir Stevens. We should continue on as normal. Let's hope whatever it is. It surely ain't after us."

Anonymous

A small blush appeared on Scott's face when his butler remembered him of his lordship. He was disappointed in himself for the embarrassing blooper that was talking to others as an equal, a lord should at all times make choices and let them be heard.

Scott smiled at sir Steven's remarks about training and picking opponents, it had been a long time since he fought someone other then his butler so he felt pretty excited.

It wasn't until he noticed the look on Eid's face that something wasn't right, continued by the announcement of them departing again. He sighed and started walking to the entrance of the carriage, "Stevens, get your men ready. We're leaving" he said with a serious face and entered.

He was disappointed for he had enjoyed himself on battling once again with someone unfamiliar, which was more fun then the boring journey ahead, yet again he really wanted to complete his plans for the silk company. "To serendipity it is." he said as he got to his seat.

It was hard for Reym not to notice the agitation of the young lord's attendant, turning the light-hearted morning very quickly into something more sinister.  Something was bothering the man. Reym hadn't noticed anything out of the ordinary himself, but to see the always-calm butler betray any signs of discomfort made him uneasy.

He quickly readied himself to leave alongside the other guards, casting glances around him as he went. He still didn't see anything strange, perhaps the man was simply being cautious on this lonely road? And yet his hunter's instincts told him something was off, there were no bird calls in the trees, no sounds from the forest around them.

Well, whatever it was, he couldn't spot it. He wasn't sure how the old man had managed to sense something when he couldn't, but there was no use wondering about that until they had reached a destination safely. His best bet was to stay on alert, keep his short sword in easy reach and watch the grey-haired butler for cues.

Anonymous

Once inside the carriage Eid started to take note of the shrieking left, forward wheel. The sound of boots against dirt road, horses panting lightly from the stretching ropes and the driver shifted his weight.

It must have been another one of those, odd sight's for the young lord to see. His usually calm butler methodically taking steps, preparing a particularly large crossbow he had pulled out from under the comfortable bench, Adelan hard oak and blacksmithing bolt's.

It was time to calm down again, feeling his heart rate slow. He couldn't completely loose his composure here, this was just another one of Scott's lessons.

"Lord, this may sound silly but allot of Adelan Noble's die trying to copy their heroes of old and that in itself is not a concern of mine, I am quite capable of protecting you from projectiles." Eid listened to his lords heart rhythm, while focusing on his face. He had taught Scott what it meant to lead men into battle, but the lord was not exactly an experienced one. He would have to join the army to get a firmer grasp of military warfare.

"If the men outside are attacked, will you exit this carriage and override Sir.Stevens order's with your own. Or will you trust his judgement? I may be your butler and the decision is yours but I'd prefer it if you made it now rather than on the spot. It gives me time to prepare. Against this sort of foe, Preparation is most appreciated."

Sir. Stevens did not have much awareness about what was going on about in the carriage nor in the forest. All he knew was that Eid would never have acted like this unless it was a serious chance that they would be attacked. After having made preparations, put out the fire and ensured that each man was prepared for the worst it was only a matter of time.

Out of the 10 man escort, he was the only experienced in mounted combat, all ten carried their throwing spears, sword and shield at the ready. Then it was a matter of their mercenaries. the two mercenaries had been double checked and checked again by Eid. Nothing had turned up. Steven shrugged his shoulders, eyeing the terrain lazily again. Then a shadowy silhouette crossed over the dirt road. A silhouette many adelans only saw once in their lifetimes, but easily recognizable. Noble, large and majestic. Even from that high up you could see it wasn't a bird. It sent that familiar tingling emotion he had felt since his first real battle down to his very core. "DRAGON!"

The urge to flee and hide in a corner as it did a pirouette before landing in front of their defensive lines, nonchalantly raising an eye at their futile barrier before roaring with brutal, cold vigour.

Sir.Stevens didn't manage to dismount nor hold on, hitting the ground with a metallic clang.

Experienced with this sort of landing he quickly rolled over and rose. The horse stood still despite the large threat to every one's life.

"Hold the column, don't engage unless it strikes."

It wasn't from round here, that much was noticeable. The blue scales and melting icicles where a dead giveaway. It's presence chilling the ground, pervading the air with its unnatural cold and causing frosted breath.

Stevens knew his men were no match for it, Simple math and experience. Sharpened steel against dragon hide never tended to work. "I am here for Eid. I know he is here!" It roared out, commanding they showed themselves.

Inside the Butler could feel his cold sweat chill into tiny droplets of ice.. He only knew one blue dragon arrogant enough to actually step out from the cold north to speak with him.

Anonymous

Eid's talking was sometimes difficult to translate, but for the young lord it was clear as day he was telling him not to throw his own life in front of whatever threat was out there. However the second time Eid spoke the young lord frowned a bit, confused as he had no clue whether to order others around or not. After all, he hadn't been attacked in a carriage before, at least.. not by a serious threat.

Thinking seriously about what to answer he heard Sir Stevens yell "DRAGON!" from outside, followed by the carriage stopping and cold spreading amongst all. The young lord was right about to open the door and fight when he got reminded of Eid's earlier advice. He got back to his seat and frowned a bit, he would have to trust his butler on this one and not interfere.

He heard Sir Stevens command his men until suddenly the dragon spoke up, "I am here for Eid. I know he is here!" well spoke? Rather roared. Scott had never seen his butler scared before in his life, not until this very moment where he could see a rather uncomfortable look on his face, yet he couldn't determine whether it was fear or shock.

To be honest Scott was scared a little, yet too determined to complete his task to let it get to him. Besides, he had a strong bond with Eid, stronger then he had with his dad, and he wouldn't let some dragon get in between. Without further hesitation he stepped out of the carriage and frowned, only to be intimidated by the giant beast that was the ice dragon.

Never before had he seen such monstrosity before in his life, Sir Stevens and his men surrounding him for protection. "Step aside!" he commanded, underestimating the danger that was the dragon. The four red crystal eyes on the golden dragons on his staff started to glow at being exposed to the dragon. "What business do you have with Eid!" He said determined and forced the staff in front of himself, cracking the ice that was the ground, his pure voice echoing through the forest.

It was that moment he found out his staff held a magical power for the first time, the glowing red crystal eyes now shining red light as the staff suddenly caught fire. Scott stared amazed at his staff for a while as the flames didn't seem to hurt his hand or arm at all. All of this was followed by a red transparent shield coming out of the staff, that trapped him in a bowl of protection. He didn't have the slightest clue on what was going on, but he did feel pretty safe inside this cocoon of his flaming staff, and wondered if it had more tricks up its sleeve.

Anonymous

"Your parlor tricks does not amuse me, magician. My message is for Eid and he is quite capable of conjuring up pretty lights and wave about with his arrogance. Just like yourself. His taint is all over you."

Batting a set of giant purple eyebrows, the voice had grown in strength and terror, while the cold had diminished. It was looking down on him like nothing Scott had ever seen. He was less than a slab of meat to this thing. More like an insect waving about a toothpick before getting stepped upon.

"Need I remind you about the dragons eating Noble's treaty Dianatia Yrmillian Frostbreath or did this lord's simple clothing betray your eyes?" Eid was back, having grown in size and looking darker, he had a more sinister streak to him now, like a snake coiled to strike, spitting every word as if they were poison to his soul. His inner self still corroded with fear, but at least managing a semblance of dignity.

If a Noble's child could show recklessness and utter stupidity in front of this sort of dragon then he was not about to let Scott be his substitute in this conversation. The dragon laughed, a short malicious laughter. The eerie tone shaking every bone in near vicinity.

Flapping giant wings, before making a short timely disappearance inside a hurricane of snow and hail, creating a massive cracking cone of ice. The body shrinking, clothing and intricate patterns waving around. Cracking out from the ice with dark and long hair, like a fair haired porcelain doll worthy of waging war over.

Dressed in a plain dark blue dress with a bust that would make Sir. Stevens remarry right away if given the opportunity. His men doing more than glancing over embarrassingly. They already lusted for the very being that had presumably attacked them. The lord was ripe of age for this kind of emotional train wreck to start rolling?

Purple eyes looked at the lord insistingly. "May i join you in your entourage? We are going the same way." It was spoken in a rather demanding way, almost as if it was her birthright and they should feel honored. Dianatia was truly the embodiment of being a dragon just like he remembered her.

A good test to see how the lord would react. She wanted to see them in private, that much was obvious. Out here was too dangerous. Eid could only leave this sort of fateful encounters towards the lord. He knew they where connected, Eid less fearful now that he knew she wouldn't try to eat him, at once. Their previous meetings where not ones with fond memories, already he could smell the sting of her icy breath and swift remarks.

He had been her servant once too, curious to see what would scare her enough to seek him out, Eid dropped the spell he had prepared. Letting the strings and intricate patterns unwoven before letting go of a now harmless magma ball.

"Your parlor tricks does not amuse me, magician." "magician..." "magician." the words from the dragon echo'd in his mind, whatever she mentioned after couldn't be heard for he was in trance. Magician? he wondered, frowning at his staff. No, it was impossible. None of his ancestors were magicians, and some of them were even born and raised in Connloath. 'No, I'm not a magician, i'm sure of it' he thought to himself as he started awaking from his trance.

He heard an evil laughter and witnessed the rather sinister yet fascinating transformation of the dragon, coming to the rather surprising conclusion it was a female walking up to him. Her beauty got him to blush slightly, yet it couldn't be seen for his cheeks were already powdered as was custom to young lords. Her eyes seemed to be enchanting him as she spoke, making him take quite some time to finally answer.

However, unlike most other nobles, Scott wasn't the type to let anything come in between him and his business. No disaster, threat, dragons or even beautiful ladies could keep him from his goal.

Scott lifted his staff, the shield disappearing yet the red crystals on his staff remained glowing brightly. A red glow could be seen in his brown eyes, followed by a frown. He never had intentions of fighting the dragon, and he was perfectly aware the dragon was capable of destroying him, yet the reason he got out was to talk to her to solve this little problem with words instead of violence.

"You've already slowed us down enough. If you promise not to harm my butler or my men I'll allow you to ride along, though you seem perfectly capable of traveling great distances on your own." he said speaking with less volume then common and turned around with a pierced glare of distrust.

"Eid, I'll give you the honor of deciding how she'll ride, may it be either with us, Sir Stevens, or even piggyback riding one of the guards." he said not even looking at his butler as he spoke and entered the carriage again.

The boy was feeling rather uncomfortable at the moment, he had yet to process the shocking experiences of riding a horse and meeting a dragon. Being determined as he is he tried to look tough as always and refused to let the happenings get to him, though try as he might it was inevitable for his young developing mind and body were already shaking slightly, yet again barely visible.

Reym had thought he would be ready for anything. He was a practiced hunter and fighter, with an athletic body and heightened awareness.
...but he had never actually seen a dragon before.

The beast was upon them quickly, effortlessly knocking Sir Stevens aside and laughing in the face of the young lord's magics. And he himself had been paralyzed all the while.
It wasn't fear that held him, though the dragon certainly did cause him fear. He had often faced people and creatues he feared in the past. He knew to act in spite of it.
Rather, he was bewildered, having no idea how to approach such a creature. Would his short sword even pierce its hide? He couldn't think what to do! As the creature changed into human form, he felt himself relieved that it hadn't come to a fight, and yet ashamed at his own inaction in the face of it.

He listened to the young Lord's words, and realized that this monster, which had descended from above, scattered their forces, and proved to them that she could easily best them should she wish it...may be joining them. It seemed madness, to bring this creature with them!
Eid, that was who the dragon was calling for. He was the young Lord's butler. What business could this dragon have with him? Would it be safe having her along?

His resolve reasserted itself, and he collected himself. Moving over to Sir Stevens, he quietly said, "Sir, if we will be having this...guest along, I'd be happy to escort her myself...since she doesn't seem to have a horse of her own..." He was wording it as carefully and politely as he could, not knowing how well a dragon's hearing may be. He wasn't sure Sir Stevens or the butler would leave her to a hired sword and he wasn't sure what he would be able to do if trouble should arise, but he did not like the idea of letting her travel out of their sight and close to their charge.

Dianatia felt the warmth of the sun as the forest itself corroded her beautiful forms, icicles she had spent years forging on to her hide where already melting. Still she persisted and acted according to her own belief's. Forced to seek out Eid like a scared mouse hiding from a cat.

Unwilling to let her icy spikes be destroyed by the sun any more than what had already happened she transformed into her human form. The change was chilling and unnatural to her at first, standing still for quite some time. As if the shape and movement's were new to her.

Already the dragon resented it's new body shape. As it's beauty decayed further and further, withering like leaf's falling off a tree.

Until what had once been the most alluring human in near vicinity, capable of reducing queens to tears. Now  the husk of normality, wearing nothing but a plain blue dress with no further extravagant features started stomping angrily after the young lord as a child who had a score to settle.

Infuriated by the child's rude attitude against her. How dare he! She made the decisions round here now!

This noble was just a mere passerby, a pet Eid kept round because she had rejected him in the end and tossed the ageing man away.

"I ride in the carriage. you may join me." Huffing silently, while sitting down next to the lord as if daring the slab of meat to speak up about it.

Much to Eid's confusion and methodical preparedness, he had not had time to put the crossbow back in the trunk. Nor prepared any extravagant after breakfast visitor's snack. He only knew one cure for this sort of thing.
