Jinai raised her eyes when Tenran had finished collecting his things. She turned to look around again, picking up a few other trinkets of interest and pocketing them before following quietly behind him. THe bird had calmed in her presence, when it would otherwise naturally continue to freak out. But because it was her careful hands that had nursed the bird back to health before, they held a unique bond and because of it, a respect that went beyond their specie.
It was also in Jinai's spirit to protect those weaker than herself, so when an emptiness had over come her at the loss of her brother, the falcon easily filled that void. And it was better that way. Getting close to a person meant you left yourself open to so many vulnerabilities.
The sound of the captain drew her mind back to the presence as she moved silently behind Tenran. She smirked, impressed at the swiftness of his work before standing before the captain herself, hands ot her hips as she tilted her head to one side, flicking lightly a finger at the unconscious man's helmet, her grin growing wider at the noise of the ding.
However, she winced at the noise of men. By the sound of it, there were only two of them- perhaps three. She knew there was no way to run away, considering they were cornered. It was either go into the hallway and become exposed, or... hide.
Snagging onto Tenran's shirt collar, she dragged him suddenly onto the ground and beneath the table.
"Wait here a second," she told him wiht a smirk, pressing a finger to her smiling lips to tell him to swallow his anger and just be quiet while she moved behind the door, inserting a small, thin, needlike blade into one of the vials as she held it at her side and waited for the men to approach. They poked their heads into the jail first, and once they realized the captain wans't about,t hey opened the door to his room, and once the first man turned and noticed Jinai, she smirked and moved forward, pressing the knife clean into his side and just let him drop, his eyes glazing over from the effects of the drugs as he began to grope around at the ground, but within moment,s he was sleeping soundly, while a puddle of blood formed at his side. The last thing he saw was Tenran underneath the table before his eyes glazed over with a drug induced sleep.
The second man, however, was not impressed and drew his blade, quickly punching hard across Jinai's face- a blow that wasn't entirely unexpected as she fell across the table, knocking into the unconscious Captain and knocking off the loose helmet that had been perched upon his head, revealing, he too, was in a state of sleep- or death. Though the guard didn't waste any time rushing across the room, reading to ram his sword straight though Jinai as he roared out in rage.
