Tristan followed her quickly. He noted that she ran on two legs instead of four. He figured it made sence, considering her body was human and not created to operate like a wolf's. When they stopped at the cliffside, he looked down onto the landscape. He loved veiws like this, high over the world. He joined in on the howl, and when it ended, he stared off the edge. He was not allways a wolf, and felt rather sorry that he couldn't bring the girl with him on his adventures, as she wasn't like him. He trotted to her side and nuzzled her shoulder. Then, he started to walk away to the far off lands below. He regretted leaving his new friend. Without her following, he began to trot off.

She enjoyed the view from up here, or from any high point she could find. Even in the trees, though she never climbed them much because she was afraid the wolves would not accept her. She had been with them forever, and she still had fears that because she was so different they might disapprove of her less wolfish habits.

She nuzzled her new friend in return as he nuzzled her, wondering just what he was going to do. That's when he started going off toward the lands below. She began to whine, pacing back and forth as he started to leave. He had just been passing through, and she knew that on some degree, but it was still very saddening. She didn't want to leave her family, but she had very few interactions with other wolves, that this was regrettably problematic. She couldn't go any further, it was out of the lands of her pack, who were not nomadic in nature. She began to howl, wishing she could go with him, wishing she could chase after him.

Alas, there were some things that she was not brave enough to do.

Tristan stopped. He began to feel sorry for his new friend, the human woman who thought she was a wolf. He narrowed his eyes at the ground. There was too many people he had hurt in this way before. He thought of his brother, who he had to leave. Tristan turned around. He gazed at the Ceena. Then, he turned back around and walked over to her. If she went with him, he would protect her from danger. He wished he could say that to her somehow. He stood infront of her and nuzzled her again. How he wished he wouldn't become attatched to others so he could live as anything he wanted to be. He remained by her side, choosing to stay for the time being.

There was another whine from her as the wolf stopped walking. She wondered what he was doing, why he was stopping. She paced still, wanting to go after him, but knowing that she really shouldn't. That would be going too far, that would be leaving the territory, and she did not want to have her scent be scattered on the lands of different wolves. They all got together rather well, they all stayed out of each other's way and didn't leave their boundaries. It was a big forest, it had plenty of room for everyone.

When the wolf began to return to her, she barked excitedly, acting more like a wolf pup than anything. When he nuzzled her, she nuzzled right back, before barking excitedly and starting to prance around him happily. He wanted to stay! She felt so excited, she wanted to do something now, but she wasn't sure what. Run! They should run! She let off a loud bark at him before she started to run, but she didn't run fast, she had enough speed that they were moving, but they'd be able to run for a while. She wanted to just run beside her friend.

Pure, uninhibited, and satisfying. Just running. There was no other thoughts, none of the pack, none of hunger, of loss, of want, or desire, just running. That's all there was to it. They would just run, just because they could, because there was room to do, because they could.

Anonymous

Tristan was amused at her actions. She acted like a pup. Then, they started running. Running was his favorite thing second to flying when he turned into a bird. Flying was wonderfull, because you could see all the land and the oceans. He just kept running alongside her. Suddenly, a little later, he didn't see a clump of grass and tripped. He fell to the side. He got up and shook himself off, embarassed. Then, he trotted back to her and waited to see if she laughed at him.

She heard something from behind her, the sound of something happening. To slow herself down she did a little trick, which was to jump upward, turning her body and landing more like a jungle cat on the ground, all fours, hands digging into the ground to stop herself. She observed her friend as he picked himself up from the ground. Her tongue hung out the side of her mouth as she observed him, sitting on her haunches, observing and watching the other wolf. She let out a small bark at him before she began to trot off, heading away to explore the territory of her pack. She felt a little thirsty, a little hungry, but she wanted to run again. She let out a howl, a low one, more out of happiness before she began to run again. This time she found a creek to run beside. She however did not realize that the bank was a tad bit muddy. Her foot slipped, her foot going further than she planned, causing her become upheaved and ended up in the creek with a small splash. Her hair was now muddy, slightly tangled, and wet. She let out a couple of whiny barks. And after she had laughed at him.

She didn't know the word, but it was called Karma.

Tristan watched her with amusement. After she had laughed at him, she fell like he did. Hmm, karma. He wished she knew what that ment. He trotted over to her and sat down next to her. He looked down at her and nuzzled her playfully.

There were a couple more whiny noises made as she pulled herself from the water. That had been humiliating, and in a way that she hadn't planned either. She couldn't believe what had happened, and knew now that she had to be very careful with how she acted. She always knew that she had to of course, but now it was painfully obvious that she had to be very careful. She pulled herself from the water and trotted to sit away from the bank of the creek, shaking herself off quickly to try and rid herself of the excess water. She returned the nuzzle of her friend wolf as he nuzzled her, letting out a happy bark afterward. If she had a tail it would probably be going wild. She always felt it was wrong that she didn't have one. A distant howl caught her attention, she assumed that her pack was on a hunt of some sort. It had been the alpha's howl, she knew it well, which meant she was wanted back at the den.

She had to watch the puppies. She gave a quick bark to her friend before she started to run, going in the direction of where the howl had come from. She knew that she shouldn't dally, a run would be more than enough to make it back there. She jumped over fallen trees, ducked under branches, and generally dodged around trees in her way. Within minutes she was back at the den, where just a few of the younger wolves and pups were, as well as the Alpha's female. Though, when she showed up, the female gave a slight look at her before heading out to join the hunt. When the Alpha's left, it meant that there would be a carcass or two brought back no doubt. The wolves had learned long ago to drag their meals back to the den, so everyone could get some. She began to round up the playful pups, making sure that none were missing. The younger wolves, the adolescents, were much calmer, though a lot of them liked to playfully nip at her and try to coax her into a play fight.

Generally, she enjoyed watching the younger wolves, they were a lot less serious most of the time.

Tristan felt sore to see her have to go. Everyone it seemed, exept for him, had something to do. He was sort of a ghost in any society, being anyone and anywhere he wanted to be. Some people would give anything for such a life. He just delt with it. It was a fact of his life. He wanted to do something he knew he shouldn't. He just wanted to waltz into their place to be with her, to be honest. He was used to doing as he pleased, because he was able to do what he pleased. He went to the edge of their place and kept himself hidden. He watched what went on within the dens. Tristan didn't have the best of manners, mostly because he didn't like dealing with others. He scanned the place. If the alphas noticed him, he would probabaly be in deep trouble. They were being nice, and if he just waltzed into their place without permission...well, bad things would happen.

She wished that her friend could join them, but he was a lone wolf, and he wasn't..like the other wolves. He seemed so different from the wolves...well, sort of. He acted like a wolf, but he didn't look like the wolves she had seen before. Still, she didn't mind, he was just a wolf from outside her den and pack, she was sure that probably some wolf looked like that somewhere, after all, he looked like that. It made sense that she thought there were other wolves like him, in her world there had to be. She didn't know about shape shifters and all the other sort of stuff. She just knew about her world.

The playful pups were rather easy to watch, and she sorely wishes that her friend was around to play with them, he seemed energetic so he'd probably be able to help calm them down and tire them out. Granted, she wasn't sure the alpha would be all too happy with that, a strange wolf, and letting his scent wander all around the den and on the puppies?

She knew he was out there though, somewhere close no doubt, and it made her bark quietly to herself. She knew that later she'd be able to go out again and find him, and they could run and play some more!

Tristan kept watching and keeping himself safley hidden. He didn't really want trouble. Then again, if he didn't want trouble, then why was he here? Right then, the alpha turned his head in his general direction. Tristan would have swore if he was a human. He carefully climbed out of his hiding place. Then, he made a run for it. Quietly, of course. The problem with being a lone wolf? Nobody likes you around.

With the return of the Alphas, it meant that the rest would be coming back soon. She could hear a few of them howling over their success, it must have been something good then, perhaps one of those very large moose that wandered around. The carcass would be dragged back eventually, but for now she had to corral the wolf pups and the young ones. It took some doing but she finally go them into the cave with her. She noted that the Alpha male had been looking at something, what it was she hadn't been sure but the bushes moved ever so slightly and she figured...she figured her friend might be in there, well, had been in there, but now had probably left. Probably for the best, all things considered. She sighed to herself, before perked up from the return of the other wolves. They had brought back large pieces and chunks of the animal with them, and later she would probably need to go out and drag more back. She wasn't that strong, but she had the limbs to help drag things back.

She just had follow the fresh wolf tracks. It took a little while, but she found the slaughtered moose near a large tree, she barked at it, just to make sure it was dead, and when it didn't move she knew she'd be okay then. She approached and began to tear off what she could, growling as she did. This would be so much easier if she were stronger...or...if the moose was smaller. Yes. A smaller moose would be better.

Tristan watched from a bush nearby. He didn't want it to seem as if he was stealing meat, but it looked like his new friend needed help. He barked softly from his hiding place to her, showing he was there. He padded near to her, and looked at the moose. Wow, it was big. He looked at her, asking with his eyes if she wanted help.

There was a bark that got her attention as she tried to help break the large creature down into more manageable pieces. She'd be able to drag the torso as best she could, as it had been already torn into quite a bit. However, her friend had returned to visit, she excitedly stopped ripping the moose apart to bark in return to her friend. She had thought he had run off, but apparently she hadn't yet, which was good to know. He was still hanging around, which was fine with her, and her wolves...if they weren't okay with it, he'd know after all. She knelt by the creature and gave another bark at her friend to come over. The wolves all seemed to understand how helpful a two legged creature was, and this was just one of those duties of hers. She showed him what she was doing by pulling off one of the large legs of the creature and putting it down in a pile of other meat that had been torn off. The trouble would be getting the head off, and she wished that they had just killed a couple of deer.

She was seriously starting to doubt that she'd be able to drag the entire thing back to the den. It probably weighed more than ten of her! She'd be able to get the good stuff back, the stuff that was easy to carry, but she wasn't sure about the body...which wasn't very good because that was the best part, it had the most meat, and the stuff inside was tender and soft and really delicious usually.

Anonymous

Tristan trotted over. He saw how she was taking the parts of the moose off and putting it in a pile of meat. He realized that it would probabaly be impossible to carry the entire thing by oneself. He thought about how it may be a bad idea to help carry meat back. It might be taken as stealing. But, if he presented it correctly, maybe they would like it. Maybe.

Tristan bit into the moose. He, being a shapeshifter, could just make himself stronger. He started dragging it foreward. Inching. At first, it looked like he was having a huge problem. But then, he started to go faster. Soon, he might as well of been carying a stick. He motioned for her to follow.

Anonymous

She would have given anything not to have to do this, and luckily she really didn't have to. Her friend bit into the moose, and at first she thought there was going to be a problem, until she noticed that he was trying to move it. That's what she had been doing, sort of, and she had a certain advantage. However he started moving the moose! He actually somehow started to move it! She quickly grabbed what bits she had torn off and began to follow after him, the wolf motioning for her to follow. This was surely no ordinary wolf, but she wasn't going to exactly complain. The Alpha might have a bit of a problem with this whole thing but she'd defend her friend, since he was helping her. Unless he decided to take the moose somewhere else.

For whatever reason she couldn't see her friend doing that. He didn't seem like the kind of creature to be so selfish and tricky. She had only know him for a day and a half, but she felt that he was a lot better than some lone wolf looking to get a meal for himself. She was sure that the wolf was better than that. The image of lone wolves was usually scandalous, that they were always looking out for themselves and they didn't have a pack because they hadn't been strong enough to challenge the alphas but...this wolf was pulling the heavy carcass of a dead moose by himself. This was a wolf who obviously chose to be without a pack.

Tristan carried the thing all the way to their place. He saw the stares of wolves that had seen him carry the impossible load so long. They backed away to clear the path. Some looked happy at the food, some others wary of him. After all,he was a foreign wolf in the middle of the camp, carrying their food. He set it down on the ground in a place that would be easy to eat from. He backed away from it in a manner that showed that he wasn't going to eat from it, or steal any. After all, the alphas got the first pick. And, he still didn't want trouble. He did not look down in a submissive manner, but didn't look at the alphas in a threatining manner either. He was being less 'polite' than earlier, but wasn't going out in the way either. He figured that was a good way to be.

She honestly wouldn't argue with her friend as he dragged the large carcass back to the den of wolves. It wasn't like she really COULD argue with him anyway. She wasn't exactly a wolf herself, but these wolves had let her live, had nursed and raised her when she was young. She knew that she owed them quite a bit, and still did after all. They let her live with them, eat with them, sleep beside them, and had for many years now. She wasn't one to rock the boat so to speak. All the wolves could tell that this newcomer, this strange wolf was strong, very...very strong and probably viewed him as a threat. It appeared some didn't mind, they were the younger wolves who looked more at the food than the strange wolf. The older wolves regarded him with a quiet suspicion, some growling, and some giving him just the wariest look a wolf could manage.

The Alpha didn't look altogether pleased, his teeth were showing slightly, fangs bared slightly as he let out a low growl. It was as if he felt...challenged in some way. Newer, younger, and clearly stronger wolf, the Alpha had every right to feel at least a little threatened. However, as she sat down more pieces of the large moose, the Alpha stopped growling. With a slightly indignant sniff he turned and headed into the Den, the Alpha's female following suit.

That was probably the best reception that the new wolf could have hoped for. It meant that the Alpha, while threatened, saw that the other wolf had no real intention of fighting him for dominance. At least, not at this time. As far as the Alpha was concerned, he was just like the fur-less female that they had welcomed into their pack. She was very glad that the Alpha hadn't decided to run her friend off, or just outright try to rip his throat out. She was almost sure that the fight would have ended now with the Alpha being dead.

Tristan watched the other wolves eat. He didn't make a move to eat any. He was rather hungry, but that wasn't going to make him go and get someone else's food. He stared ahead like a statue, then he stood. He trotted away in the solemn manner of a lone wolf. He didn't want to cause any more suspicion. He honestly wasn't sure why he was still there. Usually, he would of dissapeared a long time ago. It was probabaly the girl that made him stay. He didn't want to leave, he thought she was....well, interesting.

Anonymous

She noticed that her friend didn't eat with them. That probably was for the best though, considering that he hadn't actually helped kill it, and the rest of the wolf pack would find it very...insulting. They would be without a doubt angry with the other wolf and would attack him ferociously.  It would end with...well...she had just witnessed him pull the entire carcass by herself...that meant...he would probably win, and her family would be dead. The thought made her stomach twist and jump, and her heart beat faster and faster. Her friend started to leave and she whined quietly but went back to the meal, helping the younger wolves pull food from it, as well as feeding herself. She wanted to go after him, but she was hungry, and she didn't much want to leave the young pups. She was very torn over what to do, but...she had duties and priorities sadly.
