(This is a thread in which anyone is invited to post today.  Though those that live on this world most likely do not celebrate thanksgiving, perhaps they do have a day much like ours that celebrates togetherness and forgetting the world's troubles for a few precious moments in time.  Here, they feast, they play games, dance, give gifts, and all in all, have a wonderful time.  Come one, come all, to the Thanksgiving feast!)

The clearing was massive, carpeted in lush, green grass, patches of healthy flowers, surrounded by an encircling mass of protective trees.  It was early evening, and the sun remained in the lower portion of the sky giving the atmosphere a relaxing, dimming effect.  There was plenty of light to see well, but just enough darkness to put everyone at ease and signal that it was indeed dinner time.  Portals glowed open in front of the trees where creatures and beings of all sorts stepped through at intervals to join the great celebration.  At the center was the cooking area where hogs were being roasted, stews came together over the open fires, fruits were being transformed into incredible desserts.  There was no lack for food or creativity.  To one side was an area for special wares to be sold for this special occasion.  To another side was where a grand variety of alcohols from the bitterest beer to the most succulent wine were being served.  People danced drunkenly, others ate heartily, and still some played games in the crisp air.  Good will and bliss were abundant in the faces of everyone, and those who would have otherwise never known of the existence of each other met for the first time to form momentary friendships........
