Rhakōnba

Rhakōnba had never seen an above-ground city before. The houses were like shells built up from the ground, when it made much more sense to her to dig down and hollow out a living space. She made her way through the streets, towering over the locals and oblivious to the way both civilians and guards eyed her warily. She found that the further she went into the city, the nicer the houses got; why, she wondered? Why would not everyone have nice homes if there were the laborers and resources to build them? Humans were most strange. Here she was eyed with even more suspicion, not that she noticed.

Rhakōn stepped very carefully around the little humans that filled the streets, being sure not to step on and crush any of their little delicate human feet. She murmured quick apologies whenever she bumped into anyone, trying to keep her long tail out of the way. She straightened quickly to avoid barging into a man who had darted in front of her, and cracked her horns against the sign of a shop. She accidentally ripped the hem of a lady's dress with her claws-- thank the UlĂ©-Nan that she hadn't noticed-- and Rhakōn had cursed the impractical skirts of these human women!

She eventually dipped into the doorway of an inn, pausing out of the way of the door to take a deep breath, calming herself. Ugh, maybe she needed a drink before heading out again. She hoped that she had better luck than last time; the last time Rhakōn had tried to purchase an ale from a pub the barman had spat at her and called her a devil. What the frack was a devil?
