Kashmir yawned. He was laying in a low lying tree, one paw outstretched towards the ground, the rest of him resting on a branch. He had been napping most of the day, summer had always made him do that. Something about the warmth, the sunshine, and even the taste of the air made him lethargic and lazy. Tiredly, he looked around at the forest path in front of him and closed his eye once more to resume his nap.

Ms. Fluffykins raced through the Connlaothian wilderness with a leather protected letter bound around his neck. He was a rather large and gruff looking cat, a fierceness that was enhanced by his focus. He panted as the sun beat down his neck, though he continued to run silently between trees.
You have gotten out of shape, he told himself. Living low did that to a figure. He rarely left Arda unless it was dire, and this letter contained such crucial information. He was heading towards the Hollow, where a friend of his (affectionately so- called) 'Master' lived, a mage part of the rebellion forces of Connloath. Of course, being a werecat with many ties to the outside world and a pair of well working ears and eyes, Ms. Fluffykins had  heard many things regarding the coming storm, but he did not wish to play a part in it.

However, the letter was of utmost urgency and secrecy, and when the postal master wanted something so secret delivered for even the most accomplished of the blue striped Runners, the postal master gave the letters to Ms. Fluffykins.

So, the cat ran and ran until he could finally run no more, and began to stroll down the forest path, his piercing eyes looking around him.  He realized, to his dismay, that he was lost.
These woods have changed since I've last been here, he thought, flickering his tail.
How embarrassing, though no matter. He'd find the way soon enough.

Kashmir opened his eyes once more, annoyed that something had woken him a second time in the past few minutes. As he looked around at his surroundings, he noticed another cat walking by, clearly lost in this forest. Grinning, Kashmir decided to make the best of the situation and play a prank on the other cat as retribution for waking him up.

The magic cat turned himself invisible, and lower himself down from his branch carefully, so he wouldn't make any noise. As Kashmir crept up behind the other cat, his eyes, if he were visible, were beaming with mischief. He was right next to the cat's ear when he whispered, "Boo!"

Winters-Feather

The cat might have been invisible, but Ms. Fluffykins still had his keen sense of smell.
There's something here...
OF course, he did not make any attempt to show that he knew something was nearby. Enemy? Friend? Who knew? But it was always best to keep one's paws alert. So when the smell became stronger, and the cat suddenly emerged before the werecat, Ms. Fluffykins did not panic. Instead, instinct reacted before wit, and the cat clawed at the other one's face with a threatening growl.

Kashmir had barely, literally by a whisker's width, dodged the other cats claws. He made himself visible once more, not even showing a hint of anger, though it was there. "My, my, a little agitated aren't we," he said. If there was one thing Kashmir was good at, aside from killing mice, it was annoying people (or felines in this case).

Seh'lvah had spent most of the day wandering the woods with Methusela, teaching him the flowers and trees and insects and everything wild and full of life. He was curious, and he loved it.

"Mummy..." He pointed to the two cats fighting. Seh'lvah was confused for a moment. Methusela was only a week old, and was already the size of a German shepherd. He didn't know many words, but he knew "mummy" and "daddy". That was good for her.

They walked over to the two cats.

"Hello? Are you just normal cats or are you intelligent?"

Jayfeathers_Stick

Kashmir looked up from his current conversation at the dragoness. "If by intelligent, you mean being able to talk and hold a intellectual conversation with someone, then yes," he said. His tail twitched a little, though not out of nervousness or fear, just habit.

"What is animal mummy?" Methusela looked up at Seh'lvah worryingly.

"He's a cat dear, nothing scary. Big bad bears are scary. Not cats." She nudged him to say hello.

"H-h-hello, cat..." Methusela placed a paw down gently in front of the cat.

"Don't mind him, he's young. Anyway, we saw you fighting, is everything ok?" Seh'lvah was worried as she thought she'd seen one cat claw the other.

Ms. Fluffykins drew back  and blinked at the strange cat with large, blue eyes. At least, he thought they were blue at the moment. They might have been green.
Oh, he said into the other cat's mind. Pardon me.
He smiled as he flicked his tail. He, too, appreciated a good practical joke now and then, and he had to admit he got caught then.

At that moment, two very strange auras headed their way. The cat turned his head to find a young woman and her pet dragon, it wold seem, approach them. The youth addressed the two, asking if they were intelligent. It was an odd question, to ask a cat, but they were a strange party. Ms. Fluffykins, friendly, who adored the attention, and knew proper etiquette around dragons, gently touched the dragon's paw with his own.
Hello, young one, he greeted. He purred in amusement at the young lady's concern. He didn't bother to correct her about him being a cat, persay. He was of a different- and if he was as so bold to say, more noble- breed than the cat he had thought was trying to ambush him.
No, it was a joke. But thank you, he replied, the light playing in his eye.

Looking up at the dragon, Kashmir said, "Yes, everything is quite alright. My fellow feline just happened to overreact to my practical joke, nothing to serious, although I was expecting a very different result from what actually happened." He yawned and stretched a bit, the summer warmth still playing it's nasty spell of tiredness and lethargy on the cat.

Brisinger987

Talking cats was truly unusual. Very odd.

"So what brings you two out here then?"

Winters-Feather

Ms. Fluffykins stretched. He had no time for idle chatter, as interesting as the company was.
Business, he said in his way of not-speaking. Good day.
With that, he trotted past the  chatterbox of a cat, the lady, and  her dragon-pet. He didn't go off too far when he smelled something funny in the air. His ears perked up. Danger was lurking close.  Perhaps not because of the nature of his letter, for nobody knew about it except his "Master" and he,  though that was always a possibility. None the less, despite the scenario, the letter was the most important thing.
Get off the road, he warned, though did not quite stop. Trouble's coming.
