The desert was not a favorite destination for Jy'aad. It was so damn hot all the time, and there wasn't an once of water for leagues in any direction. However, despite the unbearable heat, and the risk of dehydration, he still wore his cloak in his trek to the canyons of the desert, a place that everyone except the foolish dares to travel.

He was no fool, however. He had heard that there was an amulet somewhere in the canyons of the Moraki desert, an amulet so powerful it could take him from one end of time to the other; and that was what he needed. However, his search would take a while, as there were numerous, nay, innumerable ruined cities within the crevices and crooks of the Moraki canyons. Why must these things always be in some desolate city? he mused as he walked. He was more than sure that there was also some giant monster or some ancient, deranged genie guarding the amulet he sought, as well....

Lyr had decided to take some time away from the caravan. She had decided for a nice flight. She would have to go back in a few hours. But she couldn't put up with Trest for any longer. Trest and Abel. She couldn't stand Abel, at all. Lyr landed opening her satchel.

"Ok, we're somewhere. We're just going to stay here for a while. Until I can tolerate Trest again," she said allowed, hoping her pets would come out soon. The location was a little creepy, but she didn't mind. In fact, she liked it. It gave her something to look at besides endless desert.

Abbán's head popped out of the mouth of the bag, still groggy from his nap. He had poked his head out a few times while Lyr was with that caravan, but there was nothing being said that really interested him, so he had fallen asleep, only to wake up a few hours later to find himself overlooking a canyon with his friend.

"So, what are gonna do here, Lyr?" He asked the girl, who was apparently off in her own little rant about a guy named Trest. This was going to be a long day...

Jy'aad at this point had finally reached the base of the canyons. That was the easy part, it seemed. Now, he just had to climb all the way to the top, not that he had to, because the ruined cities were in the rocks and crevices, not above them. He was climbing up because not only had he seen someone simply fly up there, he had also heard through his fox-like hearing, and the echoes if the canyons, a voice he recognized.... Abbán. With a sigh, he pulled out his scythes, and began climbing the rocky escarpment, the steel blades making a distinct ding! as they found their way into cracks and crevices in the rock. I really hope this won't be a waste of my time....

"We're not going to do much of anything here. I just had to get away from Trest. He's the most awful person in the world. When you get big enough...do you think you could eat him? Or maybe you can just scratch him now...A sneak attack, or something," Lyr asked. It would be difficult to tell whether she was being serious or not.

Lyr heard some sort of dinging sound but ignored. It was probably just rocks falling down into the canyon. She sat down and sighed. What was she going to do in this awful mess with this awful man? Lyr just wanted to find the Golden Kingdom and be done with this ridiculous quest. Then again, she really didn't. Because she didn't want to leave Trest.

Abbán sighed. He would be bored for a while. At least he would have the canyons to look at.... And that dinging noise that seemed to be getting closer and closer.... And then a blade caught hold of the edge, then another. With a grunt, the hooded figure pulled himself up onto the top of the ridge, panting heavily.

"Well, hello...." Jy'aad said wearily as he dropped his scythes, and sat on the ground. Climbing a wall of rock was one thing. Climbing a wall of rock at noon in the middle of the desert was another thing entirely. He just wanted get this part of his journey over with...

Lyr groaned when the fox appeared. She didn't really understand why it was up this big mountain. A part of her just wanted to kick it off, down into the canyon. But that would have been really bad. This was all Trest's fault somehow. She just knew that it was his fault.

"Hi..." Lyr said to the fox not completely sure where to take this conversation. She looked down at Abban, hoping he'd be able to add something.  Slowly, she looked back up at the newcomer, hoping to figure it out a bit. Lyr loved animals, usually. She just wasn't completely sure what to make of the new creature. The princess decided just to stare at him awkwardly some more.
