Winters-Feather

Keeth torpedoed through the water, bubbles shooting from behind her. She laid flat by the seaweed, her eyes staring at the dark figures in the distance.  Her cold fingers curled around a spear with a tip she herself had crafted. A piece of skin was stuck to it- one of her enemies' (now dead) friends.

As he should be! THEIR clan wasn't welcomed in the Tigerstripe's waters. Those men were invaders, and it was within Keeth's right to strike them down.  As Keeth predicted,  more armed figures appeared- warriors from her clan. Keeth took that as the opportunity to safely continue on her way, into the abyss.

She was on a mission. A sea witch near thee borders of the rivalry clans had recently died. She kept to her own, a crazy old, blind mermaid who lived through many generations, despite logic. Some say it was her powerful magic that kept her alive, but also made her insane. She had caused the oceans trouble now and then, having once caused a storm so powerful it sunk a merchant ship, but the merpeople had respected the woman. However, just  a few days ago, she had wandered to an octopus' cave, a friend of hers, and died on the spot, as peacefully (and as suddenly) to go.

Keeth had learned that the batty witch was suspected of having some  powerful, interesting, and bizarre items. Not many knew where she lived. Thankfully, Keeth had a map to her cave. It helped being the great-great-great-great-niece of a sea witch. The thought of pillaging all the witch's treasures thrilled the young mermaid.

She kept in the shadows, constantly throwing her head over her shoulder to make sure she wasn't beng followed.
