Wicked Basket

(OOC: That certainly makes thing more interesting.)

It seemed that the wind wasn't as much of an impediment as Gen had thought, but he did manage to score a hit. However, Kiri's scythe was coming around to strike him, so he decided to counter it with a little maneuver that was not at all practical but a lot of fun. Throwing his sword aside, Gen clamped his hands down onto the sides of the scythe's blade. Instead of stopping the weapon, he used the weapons momentum to fling himself skyward for the wind to return his blade to him and allow him to come back down for another strike from the skies.

Vyraena

Above... The blade whispered in Kiri's mind, and with that Kiri sidestepped the attack, catching the wind in her wings and using it to quickly maneuver out of the way. She was now facing Gen, although she couldn't see it for herself. Instead of going on the offensive, she would wait for Gen to strike again. It was far easier to react to an attack than predict his reaction in an environment where Soulsong had to do the majority of the work.

Wicked Basket

Gen paused for a moment. Somehow, she was still able to detect where he was coming from. Perhaps her weapon had magical properties. Perhaps if he picked up the pace. Gen attacked again, unleashing a lightning fast flurry of blows thinking that whatever was warning her of his attacks wouldn't be able to warn her fast enough to stop them all.

Vyraena

Kiri swung her scythe with lightning speed, blocking the majority of his thrusts. Anything she didn't block with Soulsong, she batted out of the way with her tail hitting the flat of his blade.

Wicked Basket

This was very interesting indeed. Even with his speed she could keep up. Perhaps he should try something a little more difficult to block. Gen leaped away from Kiri and swung his blade, unleashing a blast of air that could cut through steel. Let's see what she does about this, Gen thought to himself.

Vyraena

Dodge... Soulsong whispered. Planting the blade in the ground and pushing off with her wings, Kiri launched herself into the air, just in time to barely dodge the blast of wind coming at her. She grabbed the scythe with her tail and pulled it up to her right hand, then swung it over her head and down at Gen.

Wicked Basket

Gen couldn't help but smile as he thought of something cheeky that he could do. Instead of coming down, Gen directed the winds to push Kiri back up. What will she do now? Surely she couldn't fight the wind itself. This had gone from a fight, to Gen experimenting with his opponent's abilities. From what he had experienced so far, he was curious as to what else she could do.

Vyraena

As the wind shifted, Kiri tucked her wings in closer to her body, and allowed herself to dive down towards Gen, using the momentum of the scythe to pull her down. There was an unnatural property about Soulsong that seemed like it could cut through anything, and with a quick swing of the scythe she created a wind tunnel through which to descend.

Wicked Basket

This demon was just full of surprises, but this was still his fight. Gen decided to have a little more fun and shifted her wind tunnel to the left. Sure she could create it, but could she redirect her flight path?

Vyraena

Rather than adjust to the new flow of wind, Kiri let it take her where it would. When she got close enough, she planted her feet into the tree she had been flying at, and slid down it until she was one the ground again. Swinging her scythe, she sliced the blade through the ground, creating a chasm that would expand out towards Gen.

Wicked Basket

Gen simply stood in place as the chasm expanded in his direction. Instead of falling in, the air simply held him in place where he was. With a slight chuckled he floated over to solid land once more.

"Have you no more tricks," he asked.

Vyraena

Smiling, Kiri placed Soulsong's blade in the ground, allowing her scythe to stand up on its own. It would still be her eyes and ears, and with the runes activated Kiri would still have the demonic power it granted. She now rushed forward without her blade, fighting with her fists and her tail.

Wicked Basket

Looks like she didn't have any more tricks, but was going to fight him hand-to-hand. Very well. Gen sheathed his sword and got into a ready stance. He could fight just as well without a blade. This was suppose to be a day for relaxation, but it turned out to be a day of excitement. All well, there was always tomorrow.

Vyraena

In the conditions they were in, the large reach of Soulsong was a disadvantage rather than an advantage. While it was no ordinary blade, Kiri would fare better fighting without it, for now. After all, in hand-to-hand combat, she had more resources at her disposal. She could use her wings to deflect attacks, as well as her tail. Her tail could also be used to attack with. While Gen may be extremely skilled, he was still human, and humans only have so much they can use.

As she got closer, Kiri swung with her tail to strike first, since it had longer reach than her arms.

Wicked Basket

Gen simply deflected the incoming tale before moving in to launch a series of punches and kicks. He aimed high and low, left and right. With that tale of hers she would have the advantage, but Gen still had years of training backing him up.

Vyraena

Kiri folded her wings around herself and spun out of the attacks, launching herself over Gen's shoulder to land behind him. On her way over, she attempted to grab one of his arms with her tail and fling him to the ground.

Wicked Basket

Unlike a normal person who would have lost sight of her, Gen was able to track all of Kiri's movements regardless of where she was in relation to him. When he saw her tail start moving, he knew immediately what she was trying to do. Gen allowed himself to be thrown to the ground only to roll out of it and immediately return to his feet. Gen knew that sometimes you had to let your opponent help you fight them, and this demon made that very easy.

Vyraena

Doubling back around, Kiri began to throw a flurry of punches at Gen, as well as swinging at him with her tail. Ultimately, her goal would be to move him back towards where the scythe was, and she hoped he wouldn't realize, at least not before she at least got him somewhat close.

She hadn't been lying earlier, either. This was the first fight in a while that made her blood boil, and for that, she was thankful. The thrill of the hunt is what makes the kill so great, and when you can make a kill by barely lifting a finger, it gets boring quickly.

Wicked Basket

Unfortunately for Kiri, Gen's Air Sight let him see all around him at all times. He knew exactly where she was taking him. Gen decided to play along for now and pretend that her plan was working. He would have time to come up with something to throw a wrench into her plans by then.

Vyraena

She had covered around half of the distance to her scythe when Kiri suddenly stopped moving forward. She stopped throwing punches as well, letting Gen go on the offensive. She would block any of his blows with her tail or deflect them with her wings and arms, but would not throw any attacks back at him.
