Bastion had no idea where he was going. You would think sense you were a werewolf you would know your exact coordinates. However, Bastion wasn't the best werewolf. Anywho, the young man had something in his satchel that he was suppose to take across the way, but, like I said, he was lose. What made it even worse was that Bastion was obvious to the fact that he was treading into another werewolf's territory.

The black haired teenager continued to walk, looking around every which way to see if there were any landmarks for him to see and follow. There was still enough daylight before he would have to shift into his wolf form and be stuck that way until morning came.

Zero

That was the thing about Anville, aside from the road and the very occasional sign, there weren't any landmarks save trees, trees, and more trees. It was a very secluded community, with very few outsiders visiting save the occasional peddler or trader. They'd felt blessed when a young blacksmith had wandered into town right when the old smith was becoming too old to continue his work.

That same young blacksmith had been providing a steady rhythm of hammer blows throughout the daylight hours almost every day since his arrival. Ironically perhaps that sound was the best landmark. Once one heard it, they could easily follow the metal heartbeat to the forge sitting at the edge of the small town.

Wolfram hammered even the most stubborn pieces of iron and steal into submission, forcing them to bend into the desired shapes with a precise balance between force and heat. The forge was always burning hot during the day, summer or winter did not matter. It was likely the heavy metallic and burning scents that masked the scent of another wolf approaching the town, treading on land that, aside from the humans it was shared with, Wolfram considered to be his.

Soon the sound of metal was in the young Bastion's hearing rang. This gave him a shimmer of hope that he would be able to stop and ask for directions. As he continued to venture toward the metallic banging, he noticed that something was a bit off, but didn't know exactly what. A small part of him wanted to turn back while the other part wanted him to keep going.

Pulling out the package from his scatchel, he felt the need to open it. The package itself was eight inches long and five inches thick. It most likely was a book of some sort. Shrugging, he put it back in his scatchel and finally came to the clearing of the small village of Anville. Bastion walked passed the forge and toward the address that he had to drop the mysterious package off at.

Zero

Wolfram didn't notice the young wolf until he was almost on top of the forge. When he did notice, it hit him like an avalanche. His hammer came down with an unattractive clang against the anvil as his nose twitched with the scent of the boy walking past his forge. Well, boy was perhaps not the right word, he was more of a young man, but the wolf was definitely smaller than him and he couldn't help but bristle at the audacity of this young pup to stroll right onto his turf without a care in the world.

He dropped his project into a large barrel of water, causing a violent hissing sound as he dropped his hammer onto the anvil carelessly before stalking out of his forge and coming behind Bastion, letting his voice drop into a low and menacing growl. "You better be a lot tougher than you look or extremely lost, pup."

Thankfully there weren't any townsfolk nearby to observe his unusual behavior. Humans never understood the nature of wolves.

Greenery

There! Bastion knew exactly why he should've just dropped the package off on the line and just went back. Bastion kept walking. "I-I don't know what you're talking about sir. I'm just here to drop off a package." The smaller werewolf hoped that by playing stupid the larger one would let him finish his earn that he was set on. "Now if you will excuse me." Bastion quickened his steps, noticing that there weren't any humans in sight.

Zero

Was he being dismissed? Wolfram let out another low growl, he'd been trailing Bastion, but he reached out one massive hand in an attempt to grab the pup by the arm. He was not going to be dismissed, ignored, or disrespected by some dumb whelp that had intruded on his space. "Don't play dumb with me, pup. You're trespassing, don't you know it isn't polite to walk on another wolf's territory without permission? I should rip a few holes in your hide to teach you a lesson."

It wasn't only rude, it was dangerous. Bastion was lucky they were both in their human forms and in town. Had Wolfram been prowling the woods as a wolf at the time he could easily have attacked the younger male quite viciously and brutally and been perfectly justified in doing so.

Greenery

Suddenly he felt a  calloused hand on his arm which caused him to jump. He didn't speak for fear of the man doing something worse like breaking his arm in half. "I didn't know sir. Please just let me finish this drop off and I'll be out of your hair." He gulped, noticing that the sun was slowly descending.

Bastion didn't know what to do so he tried to snatch his arm away from the other werewolf. "It'll be quick, I promise!" He exclaimed, raising his voice some.

Zero

This really was an interesting situation they were in, wasn't it? It had been years since Wolfram had seen or smelled another wolf. He felt a pang of sadness, suddenly missing his family, but also knowing that this young wolf was a stranger and shouldn't be there. Could another wolf truly walk onto his territory without realizing a wolf lived there? There was also this mention of a package, it was possible that the pup had been charged with delivering something and hadn't been aware when he agreed that it would take him into the domain of Wolfram.

Still growling, he released the pup when he jerked his arm. He really did look quite shaken up, and even feeling agitated by the unannounced visitor, he didn't actually want to hurt him. "Here, let me escort you. Wouldn't want you getting lost again." Wolfram made sure that the offer to "help" was given in a tone that sent a clear message that he wasn't being all that helpful, more like making sure Bastion didn't try anything funny.

Greenery

"Escort"? Yeah, that wasn't what the larger wolf was doing, bastion knew that much. "Well maybe  if," He pulled out the package once more and looked at the name and address that it was assigned to. "Sir Connorold didn't live in the middle of nowhere." He stated before finding the address. He walked toward the door and knocked, leaving the package on the doorstep and getting the bag of silver coins out of the box. "See? Easy and simple." He gave him a slight some and walked back the way they came. The son was starting to set and he glanced over his shoulder. "I should really get back to my boyfriend. His a uh....large...giant. But msucles." Hopefully that lie would scare him off.

Zero

With it so close to sundown most of the humans would stay inside, Wolfram knew that much, because humans were rather cowardly when it came to the dark. Well, maybe considering how weak they were that was for the best. He followed Bastion closely as they made their way to the door, edging away from the bag of silver with a scowl. His customers never paid him in silver, he only accepted copper or gold - or bartering for other goods.

He still was doing a fair job of trying to be intimidating as they turned back towards the forge. At least he was following him, until Bastion mentioned a "giant" boyfriend. Wolfram stopped and barked a dark laugh. He was large with considerable muscle, did the little wolf think he could be so easily intimidated by such a blatant lie? Although...boyfriend. He was one of those, eh?

"You're not good at lying. You don't have anyone waiting to protect you." All he could smell was Bastion, there was no scent of another, stronger male mingled with his to indicate such a "boyfriend" existed.

Greenery

He took a bit of pleasure when the larger male growled at the bag of silver. This didn't affect Bastion in this form. Only when he transformed into a wolf would the silver pose a problem to him. Flinching some when be heard the loud laughter of the man. "Yes I do." He mumbled balling his fists. "H-he just busy in...Essyrn." He gulped, quickening his pace. "Just because you can't smell doesn't mean he doesn't exist." But he didn't, Bastion. You know that. And in all actuality, he broke up with his last boyfriend nine months ago. Or rather, accidentally ate him.

Zero

"Say he does exist, which I know he doesn't, if he's in Essyrn then he's still much too far away to help you now." Wolfram had begun following Bastion again, but his pace was lazy now. He paused at his forge to discard his heavy apron carelessly on the ground, he most definitely wouldn't be needing that for the rest of the night.

Greenery

"I don't need any help. I can find my way back by myself thank you." He both sneezed, it was rather cute. "And you can stop following me now." He turned around to face the large man. He was rather attractive and had strong physical attributes. Bastion shook his head and continued walking, but in the wrong directions. Gods help him.

Zero

Oh the little wolf needing help had nothing to do with finding his way home. If he had a home. Wolfram was having fun puzzling over all the scenarios he could think of for a young male wolf to be all alone. Maybe he was like him, forced from the family to go out and find his own territory. What if he was one of those former humans that had been infected by a wolf? His nose wrinkled slightly as he continued moving towards Bastion.

There was a feral, predatory nature to his movements now, almost like he was stalking the smaller wolf. Stormy grey eyes watched his prey with a glint of amusement and his voice was rich and dark and low. "Why would I stop following you? You're still going the wrong way."

He wanted Bastion to run, he wanted the small wolf to flee so that he could chase him. Wolfram didn't know why he wanted to chase the boy so badly, but he did.

Greenery

Bastion paused, then sniffed the air to see if the other was write. He was. The smaller werewolf quickly changed direction, now going the right way. He could feel the eyes of the larger man staring at the back of his head.  Gulping, Bastion took off running through the forest. He hopped that one following him would just give up and go back to whatever he was doing  before.

The blue eyed eighteen year old didn't have a pack to go to, hell, he only met a few werewolves in his entire life. Actually, he was hoping to find one. His parents shipped him off to work because they could barely afford to take care of him and the other two children that they had. Oh well. Life is rough.

Zero

Wolfram felt a shock of delight roll through him as soon as his prey started running from him. The light was almost fully faded and as soon as he entered the trees he dropped to all fours as his body shifted effortlessly into a very large wolf. He threw back his head and howled his thrill for the hunt. It didn't matter that his prey was another wolf (or perhaps that made it all the more exciting), the love of the chase drove him as he broke into an easy gallop in pursuit of Bastion.

Greenery

Hearing the blood chilling howl only made Bastion run faster. He knew that getting away from him was going to be a very hard task. Right when then, he started to transform into a wolf. His bones, muscles, and tissues started to twist and morph. Black long hairs started to sprout all over his face. His nose turned into a snout and his arms became front limps of wolf. After about two more minutes he became a black wolf with bright blue eyes. His frame was rather small for a werewolf, but had a good amount of muscle on him. He quickly sprinted through the forest and found a place where he could hide, a small cave that he could fit in.

Zero

There was no hurry, these were Wolfram's woods and his territory went on for miles. If Bastion managed to go beyond his range then Wolfram would simply have to turn around and return home, victorious at least in the sense of driving off a younger male that could be considered a rival or threat to his dominance of the region. His goal wasn't to let him escape, though. No, Wolfram wanted to catch him.

For a time he simply followed the sound of Bastion's flight, but soon the boy was as much wolf as him and paws tread much more quietly through the soft, loamy forest floor. He slowed to a trot and began weaving through the trees with his nose to the ground, sniffing out Bastion's trail. Wolfram found the cave and stopped at the entrance, body tense as he crouched and growled softly, just to make sure the little wolf knew that he was there.

Greenery

Bastion's hopes of hiding and getting away from Wolfram was shattered into a million pieces when he heard the growl of his pursuer. He didn't know what to do other than face Wolfram and come out of the cave with his body crotched down to the ground and his ears folded down. Please, I said I was sorry He told him telepathically, trying to be as submissive as possible. The last thing he wanted to do was go into a fight with this brute.

Zero

Grey eyes watched as Bastion came slinking out of the cave, his ear twitched as he heard the telepathic plea slide over his mind. Wolfram was still in a half-crouch, his body still tense and on the verge of pouncing. He almost wasn't sure what to do now. The chase had been thrilling, but now he had caught the intruder. There was still no desire to actually hurt Bastion. After so long without another wolf he wasn't sure what to do now that he had one in front of him.

There was only the faintest hint of when Wolfram actually would leap, and then he had landed in the spot next to Bastion and nipped at his flank before darting back, facing him again but dropping his front half to the ground, his hindquarters and tail in the air as he let out a bark. Run some more. Was the response Bastion would get.
