Too distracted with his own current affairs, Tenebris managed to slip between the trees and slam his talons down on a deer, killing it near instantly as he caused its ribs to collapse. The dragon stretched his long neck down to sniff at the carcass and begin to tear off sections of it's hide and flesh. He stopped, hearing a closeby howl, or scream, or whatever it was, but it clearly wasn't right.
Hesitantly, the large creature returned to his meal, managing to only get half of his food finished before a putrid scent of pain and agony filled his nose. Raising his head and front legs off the ground to take a better look at the canopy of trees, he tried to spot movement and pinpoint the location of the noises he heard. He sensed it, he sensed a creature he has rarely ever seen before. A wolf? No, a man. No, a wolfman.... His mind then went into a short panic mode after he realized his defenses were too strong for something of an insignificant size compared to him.
Tenebris warbled softly as he settled back down on all fours, trying to decide whether or not to leave the deer he had caught to whatever lurks out there, or to simply sit still and blend in with the darkness and observe. In this particular moonlight, if he sat still and in a certain pose, he would look like an enormous tree from below, and maybe his lights would look like fireflies.
