For someone who looked as dainty as Ringlet, one might think that Hyoite wasn't a place she should be. And perhaps it wasn't, but she had little choice in the matter. She'd been born here, born and raised yes she was and she was proud of it! Even if her teeth were chattering as she tottered around the snowdrifts on the far outskirts of the city, trying for the 351st time to muster up the courage to go into the Kilanthro Mountains and cross them into the world unknown, her dream!!

She looked up to where the mountains would be, if she could see them in the snowfall and the perpetually gray, cloudy skies.

They were just so... Big, though. And mountainy. And scary.

The wind was starting to pick up, and she could tell from her many years of living in these frozen lands that a blizzard would be coming soon. She huffed and picked up her pace, trudging through the snow, bundled up in her leathers and furs, gifted to her for some hard work at the little tavern in town, and made way for the evergreen forest not too far off.

She made it by the time the wind really started to pick up, snow flying from the tops of the drifts like sand in a storm. The trees broke it up though, and she got nice and cozy in a cluster of them, tail swishing idly as she waited for it to pass, it didn't seem it would last long. Her little ears twitched and she gave a quick little shake of her wings to get some snow buildup off of them, the only sounds being her breath and the noise of her feathers rustling, tail gliding through the windy air.

It was one of the very, extremely rare moments that one might ever find her quiet. She almost never stopped talking, but she found this moment of respite quite peaceful, and as she leaned against one of the trees, she found her eyes starting to drift shut, a soft smile on her face as she slipped into a light sleep. Sleeping standing up wasn't unusual for her--she was a pony, after all. What else was she going to do while she waited for the weather to calm down?

**OOC: Wow one post in and I already had to mark it Mature good job Sindri A+

Prey.

The scent of prey was heavy in the air, which was odd, considering the weather. Sindri was Skin right now, fur coat, pants. Dressed warmly because this self without clothes was naked and without fur. Well, it had some fur, but not near enough to be useful and most of it was around his cock, for some reason - he'd never really understand that - why not fur all over? Still.

Sindri closed his eyes, inhaled deeply, fluffy white ears poked through his thick white hair on top of his head, listening for anything that wasn't snow. Not a lot. Just the scent. Wolf would do better for this, he decided. He'd been traveling south, ready to make the yearly journey down to look for a mate or more pack or anything. It was hard finding Others.  It would be a waste to just let prey disappear when he could catch it and gorge himself.

So, dropping his bag, Sindri made a quick giant snowball as a land marker of sorts and undressed, tucking the clothing in the bag naked before he melted into Fur. A large fluffy white wolf, he blended into the snow very well and then, once his pars were used to the cold he was on the hunt. Time to find the prey. Licking his chops, he followed his nose carefully until...

A girl?

Humans smelled like prey, but this was prey and not prey and Sindri sniffled the air again, confused. Yeah, it was this creature. Around the smell of nature was the smell of this girl. It was tempting to turn his paws into fingers, grab a rock and throw it at the girl but...

Instead.

Slowly, quietly, curious as to why this prey smelled like prey and not prey and looked human... Sindri shuffled closer, carefully and gave a bark. Quite a few barks. Fight or flight. Maybe, at the very least, she'd play the chase game with him.

Ringlet, in the meantime, remained blissfully unaware of the inner turmoil that was crossing the man's mind, as she was in a light sleep, head resting against one of the trees with that small smile still on her face. After all, there shouldn't have been a need to listen for any danger, because nothing would be out in this blizzard! All the other animals would have sought shelter, of course.

Well. Not all of them.

She heard a bark and that startled her awake with a little yelp. Hearing the angry dog behind her, she threw a quick glance over her shoulder, saw yes that indeed was an angry doggo, and not just any doggo but a wolf, and her reaction was entirely understandable.

She screamed. And then she ran.

Thankfully, the snowfall had a harder time reaching the ground amidst the pine and evergreen boughs, so it was much easier to run on than the sweeping drifts outside the small forest. She was surprisingly fast, for someone so tiny; it appeared that the little flaps and pushes of her wings were helping, because she could jump a little farther than one might expect. Her hair and tail flew out behind her like streamers, the soft colors looking like a rainbow in the field of whites, deep greens and grays. It would have been majestic, if she wasn't still occasionally screaming like she thought somebody might here and come help her poor soul.

Of course no one did. There was nobody out here, except for her, and this wolf.

In her panicked state she realized the only person she could rely on was herself, and in desperation, when she saw a low-hanging tree branch, she took the opportunity. Using her wings to get herself some air she scrambled her way up it, snow falling in heaps from the branches as they shifted and wobbled until she as fairly high up. She reached out and curled herself around a branch, holding onto it with her legs and arms as she panted, looking down and realizing, oh, oh no.

She was really REALLY HIGH UP! ;__;

At least the wolf was on the ground, which meant it couldn't eat her, right? Wolves can't climb trees!

But now how was she gonna get down?! Ponies don't belong in trees either!!

Chase Game!

Sindri gave another bark, pleased that it was fast meat, the snow slowed him down, having to hop through it to get to the girl that smelled like prey and not-prey. Then up, up, up into a tree and by the time he got to the bottom of the tree the girl was up high and Sindri huffed. Giving himself a shake to get rid of any snow that clung to his fur. Climbing game? Licking his chops, Sindri made a few attempts to scrabble at the bark, claws digging into it before he remembered. Right.

Slowly, he made use of his inbetween form. It was cold, so he kept most of the fur, a fluffy white collar of it, his puppy ears poked up and out from his fluff of white hair but his expressive human face was there and he had claw tipped hands. Perfect for climbing.

His tail waved behind him while he climbed up the tree effortlessly and he twitched an ear as he got closer. Hm, she was smaller when he was a tall human. The wind ruffled his fur and he decided that, while the fur was good for temporary measures, he liked the insulation of human clothing in the human form. The skin was too different for the fur to be useful.

Still, he tilted his head at the not-prey and reached out a hand. It was strange looking, white furred with claws, pads on the palms and he grinned a fanged grin at her. She smelled sweet with fear and Sindri licked his lips. Delicious.

But she looked like a human and humans were not for eating.

Not even nibbling.

"Caught you!" He announced brightly, grin wide, tail fanning behind him on the branch he was perched on before he gave her a poke like a game of tag.

Ringlet, for a very short moment, felt relief watch over her as she watched the wolf scrabble in vain at the bark on the tree. Hah! Dogs can't climb!

Nope. No. Wait. She took that back. Apparently yes they can if they can turn into... Almost humans.

Every muscle tensed as she tried to make herself as small as possible, watching with wide, horrified eyes, wishing she was a turtle. He couldn't do anything to her if she was a turtle. But no. She was a people-pony. A little whimper mixed with a whine escaped her as he got closer--got onto her branch.

The look in his eyes said he was going to eat her. Like actually eat her. Just because he looked somewhat human didn't mean he was one--in fact, that arguably made him scarier to her. Now she didn't know what it was.

She realized she was trembling violently as he reached out closer towards her, and she let out another whimper, eyes flicking back and forth between his hand and his face--he touched her and she shrieked, suddenly flailing as she tried to smack him away, maybe she could push him off--and she lost her balance.

She tumbled from the branch, screaming again as she fell down, hitting branches on the way down, the pine needles biting into her clothes but finding no purchase, thank goodness she had her hood pulled up, or her hair would be a mess--like her tail was.

She landed in a heavy WHUMP on the ground below, stunned and feeling a branch poking into her back as she stared up from where she'd just fallen, the wolf-boy still up there.

He was still up there.

He probably couldn't get down.

She stared at him for a moment, periwinkle eyes wide, absolutely frozen as she lie there, before she suddenly exploded with energy, scrambling to her hands and knees and then up onto her feet and she was bolting again, getting a ways away before she took a wrong step and fell, sliding down a small snowy hill into a frozen ravine. She found a hollowed out tree trunk and jumped at the chance to hide, scrabbling her way inside and curling up into a ball inside, heartbeat racing at a million miles a minute, her breathing panicked and heavy.

WHAT IN THE HECKIE WAS THAT!?

Draconian

This girl was the best at the Chase Game.

Sindri's tail gave a few ticktocks as he watched the girl slide down the tree. It looked a little on the painful side without fur but... That just made her more brave. Sindri looked down at her, blinking while she scrambled to get away.

Chase game!

He did his best to climb down and out of the tree, tail giving a few more ticktocks. This form - while scarier - was much more useful. Had fingers and everything. Easily, his large frame was out of the tree - but not as interestingly as the girls.that was just awesome, the way she fell.

Then she took off!

Sindri was almost out of the tree, his fuzzy clawed feet finally on the ground and he chased. The shift from human-ish boy back to fluffypuppy was smooth and he gave leaps and bounds though... uh on.

She slipped.

His squeaky toy was gone... Or... No! There she was. Going down so he could slide after her, he puppygrinned his way to the bottom and again, made himself look human. Sorta. The face and fuzzy hands part. Her scent was easy to follow and he poked his head into her hidey hole.

She stunk of fear and what had once been an out of breath silly grin on his face turned scary, fangs beared. "There is danger?" He panted, lifting his head to look around, trying to smell the danger... Aaaand nothing. "There is no danger. Why are you so full of fear?" His voice was soft and confused and his fur fluffed up around his neck.

Cheesigator

She screamed, of course, when a fuzzy face appeared in her one hope for a chance to escape, and she tried in vain to make herself as small as possible in the hopes that maybe she would become so small she would just disappear from existence.

He spoke again and it still hadn't yet occurred to her that there was a strange wolfman in front of her who could speak common tongue. She was still too panicked, too freaked out, understandably so.

She stared at him for a moment, eyes wide with fear as her mind raced, before she finally blurted out, "Y-You!!"

She took in a little breath, point at him.

"You! You're the danger! YOU'RE GOING TO EAT ME AREN'T YOU?!" Well at least she was forward enough about it, but she was also too frightened to say much more than that at the moment.

Draconian

Sindri just stared at her like she'd proclaimed herself Queen of the fairies. Which, looking at her, could probably be true. Still, he frowned and looked down at himself and then back at the girl. He wouldn't tell her that the thought crossed his mind.

Or that her thighs looked juicy.

"No," Sindri replied, calm as ever. Right. Wolf bits. Those would be scary bits to a thing that was prey. A moment passed and before her eyes, the fur was flesh and he crouched outside the hollow... Completely naked. "You smelled like prey but you're human so you're not prey." He reached a hand to her, pale and strong looking.

"Are you lost? Do you need help? I am Sindri. I will help you," he nodded. It didnt occure to him that humans were shy about naked things, because the poor girl could probably see more of him than she might have ever wanted to.

Cheesigator

Ringlet stared at him, still rightfully terrified, even as he answered her. But that fear quickly morphed into shock and embarrassment when he changed yet again, and lost his fur completely.

Crouched there, naked in the snow in front of her was a young man. Naked as the day he was born. So, so naked. Really naked. Holy canole was he naked. He was also kinda cute too but her mind hadn't registered that yet, not yet.

All she could do, after he extended a hand towards her (which she flinched at at first) and spoke to her, was let out a high-pitched whimper that sounded like the dying breath of a hyperactive squirrel that had been hit at high speeds by a merchant's cart.

She opened her mouth to speak, and just squeaked again. Her face was quickly turning several shades of red from her blush, and she found it a little difficult to keep looking at his face, because it was just... Dangling there. In the cold, and the snow. And the blizzard. It made her want to wince in pain and she wasn't even a guy.

If he had still been a dog and that had been just, y'know, hanging around, she wouldn't have thought twice about it--horses did that all the time. But people? She'd been around people long enough, raised by them properly enough, to know the difference between a naked human and a naked animal. A naked human was something she wasn't really supposed to see, and yet here was one, crouched in front of her quite possibly literally freezing his balls off and he seemed to act like there was nothing wrong.

She just squeaked again, before she stuttered, "N-Naked. You're. Naked. I--UM--"

What had he said his name was?? What had he asked her? SHE DIDN'T KNOW. BECAUSE NAKED. HE WAS FREAKING NAKED WHAT SHOULD SHE DO??? WAS HE COLD? SHOULD SHE GIVE HIM HER COAT? BUT HADN'T HE JUST TRIED TO EAT HER? WHAT SHOULD SHE DO?!?!

She was in fact being so bombarded by her own confused emotions and thoughts that it evidently was too much for her to handle, because she fainted. Straight up, eyes rolled into the back of her head and she slumped, head falling against the inside of the tree, eyes closed, she was out, cold. Gone.

Nope. She couldn't deal with this. So much nope she noped right out of her own conscious state of being.

Draconian

It was sweet with fear.

Sindri had to try really hard not to look interested at her in a eat-y way. He tried very hard to keep his expression neutral and mostly he was confused because she kept looking at his boy-parts and then he looked at his boy parts and then back up at her and it looked like her head was going to explode from how red with blood it was and was that normal? Sindri blinked at her, mouth open and about to speak before the poor Not Prey's eyes rolled and she just...

Sorta went limb.

Had she died?

"Are you dead?" He reached a hand out and poked her, giving her a nudge. A sniff. Leaning in with his puppy ears. It was with a strange sense of disappointed that he announced, "Not dead" with a sigh. Still, it was cold out here and sure he was cold. But... He couldn't just leave her. That would be bad.

So, he poomed his fur back on except for his face - people liked human faces - and he caught her ankle and dragged her to him, where he wiggled her out of the tree, grabbed her his and tossed the colourful girl over his shoulder like a voluptuous sack of rainbow potatoes. He gave a pat to her butt - which wasn't supposed to be weird but he thought maybe it was weird after the fact - and meandered back to his clothing, placing her in the snow before he put everything on but his coat.

The pants were first, he didn't want her to stare at his penis and faint again. That would be bad. The coat remained off - he kept the collar of fur, which made his shirt puff out at a strange angle to look sort of like weird boobs -  and struggled the thick too big coat on the girl.

This time, when Kairius picked her up, he did it bridal style and...

Kinda kept going with her.

He wasn't sure where she was going, or where she was from, and he had places to be... So Sindri kept going, and as long as she was passed out in his arms, he walked towards the mountains because there was stuff on the other side that needed doing and he couldn't just leave her behind.

That would be really mean.

Cheesigator

Ringlet was, for all intents and purposes, out cold. Completely and utterly unaware of her surroundings, she was limp in his arms for quite some time, only starting to come to her senses when they were far away from any northern civilization, and closer to the mountains than anything else.

Her vision was a little hazy at first, but when she finally opened her eyes all the way she saw a... Fuzzy young man above her, and then realized she was being jostled slightly, and then realized she was being carried by him, to who knows where.

This was the wolf from earlier.

Holy shit cadoodles that wasn't a nightmare, that really happened. And he was here, right now!

Instantly her heart jumped up into her throat, pounding with fear as she started scrambling to get away, letting out a shrill whining noise as she managed to get out of his arms and down into the snow where she quickly scrambled to her feet and darted away, only stopping to look at him when there was a good 7 feet of distance between them.

Her stance was defensive, she was ready to bolt at any moment, but she blinked when she still smelled his scent so strongly around her--and then looked down to see she was wearing a coat, that smelled like him.

What? No. That was confusing. He wasn't allowed to be this confusing, he was a wolf, this should have been simple!

"W-W-Who are you?! What do you want where are you taking me?! Are you going to eat me?!" She started, her tail lashing nervously from side to side, her pony ears flattened against her head as she paced nervously, unable to keep still as her horse mannerisms started to shine through her mostly-human appearance.

Draconian

"Eat you!"

Sindri echoed.

THen he paused.

Was he?

A curious look at her, eyes narrowed ever so slightly. She did look tasty... No. She was a people. She didn't smell entirely like one but she was a people and that meant she wasn't for eating. Still, he licked his lips and enjoyed her scent and then shook his head. For something so tiny she sure asked a lot of questions.

Why did tiny things have to ask so many questions?

"No no. I won't eat you. I just... Couldn't leave you behind," He motioned to his footsteps, ears down like hers and shrugged his shoulder like it was no big deal. She was sleeping, if he hadn't taken her with him, he would have... She could have been eaten! "Also, My name is Sindri," He held out a finger, "I want to help you and we're going south," A nod and he took a step closer to her, holding out two more fingers as he answered her questions.

"I... You fell asleep," He stated simply, "I couldn't just... Leave you." Then he paused and pursed his lips, ears perking up before they slowly melted away and he had normal human ears again. "The wolves would have eaten you. The wolf-wolves. Not the Me-Wolves."
