Roland ignored her outburst for now and rolled his shoulders, gesturing for them to follow. Soon they were on the other side of the camp, making way between soldiers that waived their blades in unison, poised behind shields and standing in position, to others tending to their equipment and making short work of what they had.
Far off the patrol was skinning the deer they had found making short work of the meat. The smell of food certainly made Roland hungry, and there was enough to be shared.
Soon they made it to where Alyssa was sewing the last of Brutus' leg up and she gave the dog a small piece of jerky from her hand. He seemed much calmer than when they first met, although he uttered a soft whimper when he saw Amelia and Kay, wagging his tail with gentle thumps on the ground.
