Adrina sat in her dimly lit house.

Why?

Her parents were killed.
Tears rolled down her cheeks.
She remembers the scream of her mother wanting to hug her the last time they saw each other.

Why me?

Tears rolled down her cheeks and onto the back of her hands, which were in fists. Out of anger Adrina got up and smashed her chair against the wall. She walked outside and walk a little ways to get to the local hot spring. She undressed and dipped

It moseyed along, taking in the entirety of his surroundings. He hadn't been this far north in quite a long time. Or was it ever? He didn't know, but he didn't really care.

The ground practically shook with every step It took, but there wasn't really a need for that to happen. Sure, It was a large being, but there were others much larger in size who held more majesty.

It's head swiveled on his long neck, glancing around. What was that? Crying? He saw a creature. He'd seen a lot of creatures like this one, but never really understood them. How did they get around on two legs? Why did they come in so many shapes and colors? The concept was strange, still it wasn't important.

It simply continued on his way, searching for a nice bush of ripened berries or something else to eat.

Outside of town, in a tent made from a patchwork of furs and supported by long pieces of bone, A man with messy hair and an unkempt beard woke from his sleep. He didn't know why he woke up, but it wasn't uncommon for him to grow restless and need to walk it off.

As he untangled himself from the blankets of fur and began dressing himself he noticed his companion staring at the entrance to the tent. Her white fur stood on end and her ears twitched at something her beady little eyes couldn't see. "It seems I'm not the only one who is a bit restless tonight," he chuckles.

The two look at each other for a moment and then the man continues preparing to go out. He put on a large coat of fur and a hat and tucked his very large knife and a hatchet into his belt. There shouldn't be any trouble in town, but it didn't hurt to be safe.

As the man exited his tent and headed into town, his companion bounced off ahead towards whatever had drawn her interest. She was much faster than the man and soon she had left him behind, sniffing about and listening for the strange sounds she had heard earlier.

As she moved further into town she determined that whatever had made the loud noises must have left. There was an unusual scent on the air but she could not place it. It reminded her of snakes but not quite the same. She stopped to lick and rub her little paws along her face- she hadn't had time to wash up after waking. While sitting there she noticed something within town that drew her attention. Someone else was awake and their scent trail meant they had passed by recently. Quickly but quietly she followed the trail to a place with steam billowing on the air.

The large ermine with snow white fur came to edge of a pool of water, enjoying the nice steam coming off of it. And her small head with a pink nose and beady eyes peered at the unhappy woman in the water. She squeaked to try to get her attention and make sure she hadn't been hurt by whatever it was that had just passed the area.

Mert slowly walked towards town, not really having a destination in mind. It's a nice night for a walk, though I wonder where Deli is headed?. As his friend approached the hot springs he smiled and whispered, mostly to himself, "If you just wanted a bath I could've heated up some water for ya. Oh well a little leg stretch and fresh air before going back to sleep is fine too.
