Disciples of the Lost

Overview
What started out as a way of serving the world they live in turned into something much more extreme. This is not a guild, nor a gang, but rather a murderous cult developed through admiration which spiraled into obsession.

Though some may find this group of people to be cruel and simply abusive to the world, it's exactly the opposite. The Disciples of the Lost help to set lost and pained souls free of their earthly binds. What could possibly be cruel about that act of mercy? Perhaps, the way they do it.

It's unclear how the inner workings of the cult actually operate, as there is rarely any true contact with the woman around whom the cult was built. Regardless, they are very successful and have no boundaries to where they operate.

Location and Headquarters
As stated before, there is nowhere that someone with ties to the cult can't be. The primary base is within the Kishan Jungle, as it is free of any true civilized law and accessible enough for most people to navigate.

The base isn't some kind of deep, undercover fortress, but rather a simple house in the middle of the jungle. The woman who inspires the cult is the sole inhabitant, but others are welcome to stay the night if they find themselves on the run or simply in need of a place to rest.

Rules and Joining
This is where the cult differs from most other cults, for the Disciples of the Lost have very loose rules. Most cults have rigid structures, but these people came together because of a mutual admiration of a woman whose handiwork they respected.

The main rule is the willingness to kill. At the same time, cult members have to be able to blend in with society, while also scouting different people to free. These are mercy killings! Whether the victim asks for mercy or not is another issue... Some just aren't aware that their soul yearns for freedom.

To join, one most not sully the good name of the cult. There is no strict initiation process, though there can be a small ceremony if the person so wishes. Often, these ceremonies are enjoyed, as it gives an excuse to have some extra fun.

Members
There are very few qualms anyone in the cult will have when someone new joins the ranks. There is also no set rank for people. The only person who ranks higher than anyone is the woman who the cult was designed in honor of.

Mirella Hemyns: She is the beginning of the cult. The Disciples of the Lost wouldn't exist without her inspiring actions.

Killings
The methods of killing are extremely varied, as it simply depends on the person's preference. Nothing is forbidden, save for unnecessary harm. The taking of another life is a service to the spirit, but harming the body is unnecessary and will not be taken lightly by Mirella, should she find out.

How you kill is up to each person, though. As long as you are not caught, there is free reign. Though, if caught, you are not to speak of the cult.

Angel's Embrace
Angel's Embrace is a type of poison, exclusive to the Disciples of the Lost. Even more, this poison is only available to Mirella, as she makes it in a hidden room with ingredients most people wouldn't have even heard of. She spent many years learning about poisons and the effects each poison has on the body, so she's something of an expert. Replication of this poison is absolutely impossible, as it is made slightly different each time it's made.

It is fatal to the victim every single time. It works on every being, including Mirella. One drop of the poison touching the person's skin means inevitable death, though it takes time to work. Angel's Embrace can take anywhere from ten minutes to forty-eight hours to work; it depends on the victim's constitution.

There is only one antidote to the poison, which Mirella wears around her neck. The antidote is also impossible to replicate, as each antidote is made specifically to each version of the poison. Mirella never makes any more than she needs.

The effect on the victim is different each time, and it all depends on whether Mirella feels someone deserves to die peacefully or painfully. On a scale of feeling, dying from the poison can either feel like slipping into a deep sleep and being cradled in an angel's wings, or it can feel like your body is being dissolved from inside while your skin is on fire. There are certain effects in between, but why give away all the fun?
