It was far too late when she had finally figured out her mistake. She had no time to fix it. No time because it was night time and it was the new moon. How could she have forgotten something so important? She had been caught up in something and just forgot the one thing she absolutely had to do before the new moon. She had to eat something because the new moon was when she was forced into her Haunt form. At least she had done one good thing: get away from town. When she had realized the mistake she made she managed to get far enough away into the Draconi forest. Hopefully no one would be foolish enough to be traveling through them that night lest they become a midnight snack.

Katina stared up into the darkness of the trees, her oddly colored eyes the only thing really giving away where she stood. In the darkness like this they seemed a lot brighter than normal and in her state of mind..dangerous. She was hungry...hungry for flesh and blood. This was exactly why she was supposed to eat before having to change. It was dangerous when she didn't. Dangerous for those around her anyway. If she could get something to eat now, quickly, maybe the unwanted desire would pass and she would become harmless, like she normally is the night of the full moon. She could only hope.

Katina closed her eyes and sniffed the air, trying to pick up some form of a scent from an injured animal or something. It would suffice and could keep her from harming actual people if they were out at this time. Nothing though. No smell of blood..no sound of animals. They must know. A lot of animals were funny like that. They knew when something bad was around and would run to hide. Lucky for them...not for her. A low growl emitted from her throat as she opened her eyes and looked around.

Irritating.

The dog like creature set off then, walking at a moderate speed while keeping her nose close to the ground in hopes of catching a scent of an animal or person that may have passed by before her. That or surely she'd get lucky and find some poor animal caught in a hunter's trap. A human could go without food for a couple of hours. It was more important for her to eat right now so if she stole their meal or prize catch this once, they shouldn't mind. Heck..they wouldn't even know it was her because she wouldn't be so stupid as to hang around a trap to eat her meal.

It was a few minutes before she actually picked up anything but when she did she stopped dead in her tracks and lifted her nose into the air. Blood. An animal's blood. How lucky for her. If she could smile she would've, instead she settled for letting out a growl of satisfaction. Her movements were quick as she ran and weaved around trees and bushes just to get to her catch before it could get away providing that it could get away.

As she closed in on it though, another sound caught her slightly off guard. She quickly slid to a stop and her ears perked up a bit as she quickly looked around. Footsteps. There was someone out here and even though they didn't smell like blood from as far as she could tell, just the thought of a bigger prey was enough to make her change her course. The person or thing was close too, it wouldn't be too hard for her sneak up on them. Her ears laid flat on her head and she got low to the ground and proceeded to sneak up on her target. As she got closer her eyes narrowed and she gave a warning bark, the poison her body produced dripping off of her teeth as she did so.

Why not let them know she was there? In this state of mind she liked a good chase.
