The first thing he noticed, the first thing he began to detest about the city was the constant bombardment of smells that assaulted his Ulrician nose. It made him cringe and turned his stomach for but a moment, but then he quickly sucked it up, and kept walking through the city gates. Lucied's dark yellowish eyes roamed the city streets, looking, studying, and wondering about how so many people could stand to be around so many others and NOT vomit from the stenches that wandered so strongly through the streets.

Maybe that was just him? Well of course it had to be since he was raised out in the outskirts, and never once set foot here since there was no need for him to do so. This made the twenty year old question his oh so bright idea of adventuring, and seeing the world if this is all it had to offer, but once again, that's just something he would have to deal with. Thankfully, it wasn't as bad as it could get seeing as the sun was just starting to rise and not too many people were out and about this cold, crisp morning. The fog was even starting to clear away, and within the next couple of hours, should have moved on elsewhere.

"Oi! Lad! Ya knew to these parts?" Came the horse voice of an old, hunched over man dressed in begger like clothes. Lucied naturally wanted to just walk away, but curiosity wrapped its dirty hands around his brain and egged him to see where this would lead him.

"Yes sir, I am. Can I help you with anything?" Making sure to sound as polite, and kind as possible without over doing it, he stood within three feet of this seemingly short, and stubby person who's body trembled with old age. The old man opened his ragged long coat to reveal rows of necklaces, and pendants. He was a pawn artist. Go figure.

"So lad, for a good price, I can offer ye some fine necklaces and such for a souvenir! Only.... eerr.... 50 gold pieces-!" He didn't have time to finish his sentence before Lucied spun on his black leather boots, and silently yet quickly, walked away. He didn't have time to waste on such crap. In his mind, Lucied prayed that not everyone in this so far, god forsaken city wasn't like this.

He spent the next thirty minutes, wondering the streets, mainly keeping in the market area, browsing through the different assortment of goods and food they offered. Some of it seemed rather inviting, where as others just smelled plain awful, but that's the city he guessed. "Mami mami look! It's a doggy boy!" Cried the excited voice of a five year old girl of common status. Clearly, seeing an Ulrician wasn't so common to this little girl, and the first thing she did was try to grab his tail.

The moment her short, stubby little fingers came within inches of his charcoal colored tail, he quickly spun around and took a step away from the child. There eyes meet and for but a few seconds time seemed to stop. The girl didnt know how to react, and neither did Lucied, but the mother seemed to, for some odd reason, take offense to his action. She quickly scooped up her child, glared daggers at Lucied and walked off. "What... the hell... lady...?" Were the only words he could say as she vanished into the thickening crowd of people. Please don't let this day get any worse?

He had to get away from all these people. Too many bodies moving around, and too many smells were beginning to assault his senses. He just hadn't adjusted to this type of living just yet, and so he slipped into a near by alley way. The sun's light had not yet reached this place and for the most part, it remained hidden in darkness, save for a fe glints here and there. Lucied let out a weary sigh as he rubbed his temples with his slender, bony fingers in annoyance.

"Havin trouble boy?" Came the voice of a middle aged man from behind him in the darkness. Out he stepped into one of the glints of light that managed to sneak its way into the darkness, but Lucied could quickly tell the man wasn't alone. Two other figures stood behind the middle aged man, each with knives drawn. "Come on lad... don't cause any trouble, and ya won't be getting hurt now. Give us yer gold and you can walk away with your life..?" The dirty middle aged man held out his left hand, and in the right he held a short sword. Of course, Lucied had no plans to hand over the little amount of gold he had, but so far, this day wasn't going the way he had planned. What else was going to happen he wondered as his right hand slowly slipped behind his back to close around the hilt of his own short sword strapped horizontally to his back. If he was lucky, maybe help would come?
