Soooo, Comic-Con is fast approaching and I need to really buckle down and finish my cosplay. SO! I'm gonna be slow. |: Between work and this project, I don't have much time, so I gotta pour my free time into this beast. I'll try and post when I can! Like on lunch breaks!

If I pour all my energy into this, I may be able to finish this in a week or two. xD So it hopefully shouldn't be that long of a pause! Rhi was just being a dirty procrastinator.

I'm also gonna try to have "office days" since I owe responses to a lot of questions! I'll aim for Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. <3

The Never King- a king erased from history because of his dabblings in dark magic (among other things...) suddenly because a present day problem when an unlikely group of adventurers 'awakens' him from the grave. I ran the Connlaothian civil war. For more info, check out it's page here. The war has now turned into a 'Cold War' with it's plotting page found here. It's no longer a huge site wide event but the scars are there.

I am being Sebastian Castellanos from The Evil Within! 8D

Basically I was able to buy everything (including his vest which I had to have custom made xD) but I'm making his belt and shoulder harness and all his ammo/handcuff pouches. So I've taught myself leather working just for this, and it's fun but takes a long time! xD

I still haven't figured out how I'm gonna tackle his belt. |: If you get a close up of it, it's ridiculous. Oh well, CHALLENGE ACCEPTED.

All I've finished of the leather stuff so far is an ammo pouch. And I still have to stain it and trim a bit of it and connect a loop for the belt. <__< Which I'll tackle tonight. But I'm excited for how it's coming together!

I started on a cosplay too ^^ Zero from Drakengard 3. I use her also as a model for Silmeria, one of my main characters here ^^ I just adore her.

I am waiting for the patterns. they are finished the first week of july and until then I am working on the shoes (whom are now at a store that specialises fixing shoes) they are done, but they needed a sole on the bottem xD

I personalised shoes I already had. It was a mary jane type of shoe with a heel and I had to fill up the space of the heel and foot with paper mache. That, was then with shoe included primed with wood clue and then pained with acryl paint. The heel is white and the rest of the shoe is black ^^

I made it a bit like this :)

but after priming, painting and varnishing, a new sole had to be placed underneath the shoe because otherwose I would be walking on paper mache :P

Ahaha, I finally had an epiphany yesterday and figured out Seb's belt! The stupid clasping mechanism was what had me befuddled, but after a lot of searching hardware store sites not knowing what it was called or if such a thing even existed (and searching for a way to make an equivalent...I was considering overalls buckles lmao)...I found the exact piece! Huzzah! It's apparently called a metal surcingle. Who knew. |:

I had that two days ago when realising I need those rings and the mechanism to put them in clothes to have those holes where you can put laces through xD it took be forever to find the name

But yea. The Aliexpress is a lifesaver for me on many fronts. Just make sure that if you order anything regarding shoes and clothes, that you check the size ^^ most of these things come from China.

And now this costume has officially tasted my blood. |: Got myself good with a razor blade. This is oddly appropriate considering the game my costume's from. Hmph.

BLOOD FOR THE COSPLAY GODS.

So! I'm making good progress on this cosplay! I just have... |: A lot of work to go. Right now, I'm onto tackling the shoulder harness holster thingy and am super aware of just how little time I have left. (My deadline is the 15th or 16th of July, because my friend, who will also be my fantastic Ruvik, is coming to visit and I wanna be done by then, plus Comic-Con is a week later! Ahhhh!)

What I've finished so far...


Ammo pouch! This is the before pic, before I dyed and put the nice finish on it. The leather was all fuzzy even after being sanded and I was SO WORRIED I'd done it wrong and was gonna have a fuzzy pouch. D8


...Then I put the dye and finish on, and the fuzzies went away! MAGICAL. I just gotta add the snaps and boom, it's done.


And the ammo holster! Sebastian is a weirdo who has like a lot of his cuffs showing? So I made the holster accurate to how it looks in the game. Surprisingly, those cuffs are super secure in there. I can hop around and run around and they don't budge. (I tested this.)

Both attach to my belt (well, the belt I still have to make B| ).

I also made another ammo pouch but it was my first time working with leather EVER (I taught myself leatherworking just for this cosplay, and it's been a steep learning curve xD) and it looks good! But I'm fussy and a perfectionist and it was the wrong style for Seb's ammo pouches. So I fumbled along in designing a pattern for it and gave it a second go. And now I have to make a second one since the bastard has two.

What's left?

-Shoulder pads for the harness. Gotta make the pattern and cut it all out.
-Skiving the leather straps I got so they're thinner for the harness.
-Sewing the shoulder pads and harness. Not for functional purposes even. Just purely for aesthetics. Goddammit.
-Dyeing all that shit! And adding the finish.
-Assembling it all and praying to the cosplay gods that it all works out and that my harness construction tutorials don't lead me astray.
-Making the belt. So, lots of sewing and dyeing and assembly, because of course Seb can't wear a normal utility belt like a normal person.
-Making the gun holster, dyeing it, etc.
-Ammo pouch number 2. Which should be super easy after making the first one, because I already have the pattern now and know wtf I'm doing.

I think that's it???

*deep breaths*

It's been slow going because a lot of my time was spent fumbling and messing up but now I finally know what I'm doing, so this stuff should go faster. Thank goodness. xD

But also need to be able to move it. I have no idea how to make the ellbow joint area. If you have time could you give me some advice?

Hmm, well mine is pretty different! It's not quite as complex as that pic. Mine looks like this!


But I can tell you what tutorial I used to make mine! It was this one! I just modified things where I needed to and created my own patterns here and there to fit the look of the character I was cosplaying. So you could probably use this same tutorial and just change things up where needed! Also, I used craft foam for the entire thing. xD They suggest using a different material for the fingers, but I didn't have time to order plastic sheeting so everything is craft foam. And it worked fiiiine.

As updates on this project...PFFFHAHAHAA I underestimated how time consuming this would be. :B  And I also created more work for myself because NOW I'M MAKING HIS REVOLVER AND SHOTGUN. Because I'm absurd. And because fake guns are impossible to get in California.

So now my list is like...

[✓] Shoulder pads for the harness. Gotta make the pattern and cut it all out.
