The sound of footsteps dragging through the snow was all Fuyumi could hear behind her as she made her way down through the snow fields. The situation before her wasn't one she was completely unfamiliar with. In fact it happened several times during the year. Every once in a while the people of one of the villagers she frequented would 'get tired of her' and try to hunt her down. Most of they time they failed to even lay a hand on her, and on the rare occasion they did manage to capture her their stupidity always got the best of them in some way.

Oh how foolish humans tended to be...

This particular group was starting to get a bit annoying though. Most would have given up chasing her by now; after all she tended to be extremely difficult to track when she got out into the tundra. But this group was a bit more persistent than the rest, much to her displeasure.

They had been chasing her for quite some time now, aided by the dogs they had with them. If it hadn't been for those infernal creatures the villagers wouldn't have had a hope of tracking her. She didn't exactly leave footprints in the snow considering she was able to run on top of it, and she most certainly was able move much faster than they were able to. Really without those mangy mutts and their enhanced senses they would have had nothing on her.

Fuyumi had grown to hate dogs over the years, and it wasn't that they were a threat to her either. In fact they were hardly a threat... They usually attacked head on when they were used against her, making them quite easy to turn them into cute little 'pupsicles.' No it was the fact that they so willing submitted to humans that she really didn't like. Only the most pathetic of creatures would allow humans to dominate them...

As she made her way further through the rocky terrain near the village there was something that was bothering her, even more so than her pursuers. The temperature was steadily getting hotter and hotter. It was a subtle change, one a normal being probably wouldn't have noticed. But as a creature of ice and snow she was far more sensitive to temperature changes, especially heat.

The heat could only mean one thing. There had to have been a hot spring nearby, which if she played her cards right could work to her advantage. While she had never actually tried summoning one before she was well aware of the Kelpies' existence. She had read all about them in one of the books she had 'borrowed' from a man she met before. The poor fellow hadn't quite become the masterpiece she thought he would have, but his books had certainly come in handy over the years.

The problem was there were certain preparations that she needed to make before she could call one of the water horses. First she would need some blood. Well the villagers certainly had a lot of that on hand didn't they? She would also need a sacrifice but again she could get one of those from her pursuers as well.

Yes she had a plan to get them both.

Shifting into her mist form she began to shroud the surrounding area in a thick fog, making it much harder to see. Then she waited; waited until the hunters drew near enough for her to enact her plan.

Naturally the first to arrive were the dogs, going directly for her kimono which was now lying open on the ground. The six hunters had followed close behind, the one in the lead removing the abandoned white robes from the scruffy creatures' mouths to examine them. If she had had lips at the time she would've grinned widely at the confused look on his and his companions' faces.

They didn't have the first clue what she was up to, which was good... for her of course.

As they looked around for more clues as to which direction she had gone, one of them spotted a silhouette in the direction they had just come from. He couldn't see it well in the mist, but it seemed to be a feminine one and it appeared to be moving away.

"Over here! She's heading back toward the village!"

The call had gotten exactly the reaction from the hunters Fuyumi had wanted. They had sent the dogs ahead into the mist after the figure, and had begun to follow suit. At least most of them had. The one furthest away from where the figure had appeared had instead found himself face to face with one of the most beautiful woman he had ever seen.

Obviously the man's first reaction was to open his mouth to shout for friends, but Fuyumi didn't plan to give him a chance to make even a peak. The second his lips had parted they had found themselves interwoven with hers in a kiss that no man would have been envious of. It was uncomfortable to say the least; like kissing a tank of liquid nitrogen. Her breath and saliva were so cold they burn against his throat as ice crystals began to form in his mouth, sending him into a frantic frenzy. However it was all for naught. The yuki-onna had already gone to work freezing his hands and feet solid, rendering them completely useless.

He was utterly helpless against her.

Once the hunter had lost consciousness she wasted very little time creating a giant claw of ice to carry his limp body in the direction of the hot spring. It was only a matter of time before his buddies would figure out that they had been tricked, and she needed to summon the Kelpie before that happened.

As she neared she was actually happy that the hunter had taken her clothing with him. The last thing she would have needed was extra clothing; she was hot enough as is... The heat radiating from the pool had already begun to affect her, droplets of water beginning to form all over her body. To the untrained eye it would've appeared as though she had just come out of the hot spring, but a skilled eye would've noticed that she was actually beginning to shrink a little. It was such a pain, but she didn't have the time to complain about it. She just wanted to get this over with as quickly as possible.

After propping the hunter's body up against a rock she broke off a crystal from the claw and fiddled with his clothing until she was able to expose his flesh to draw blood. If he wasn't already dead yet the man was going to be very soon, so he couldn't have complained if she borrowed a tiny bit right?

Bloody crystal in hand Fuyumi walked over the pool and allowed a few drops to fall in. Being near the edge had only increased the speed of the melting process. Her body was now drenched in water, and she was getting smaller much faster than she had been before. Needless to say she wasn't enjoying it... The faster she got this out of the way the better.

"Kelpie, I need your help with something."

After calling out she began to move backwards mostly to get as far away from the pool's edge as possible, but also to give the water horse some room as well. She had never actually done this before so she didn't quite know how violent the summoning process was going to, and the last thing she needed was to be doused with the boiling water from the spring.

(OoC: Feel free to have the hunters show up in your post ^^ )

The blood ribboned out into the hot spring as it began to disperse into the water, billowing into a turbid pink cloud in the slight area it had effected. It wasn't but a few moments before it was indistinguishable within the murky waters of the spring, muddied with underwater sediments and dissolved minerals of the untapped arctic earth, and disappeared entirely as if the blood had never been spilt. And as for her words, spoken aloud to naught more than the steaming and stagnant waters, they fell heavily into the eerie silence of the tundra, save for an audience of snowflakes.

It took five full seconds for a velvety pair of nostrils to break the surface of the geothermal spring. At first, it seemed as if they would simply hover in the center of the pool, but they quickly swiveled about and advanced in the direction of the summoner. The kelpie knew quite a number of things about the being whose blood had been drawn: he had an iron deficiency, high blood sugar, was mildly intoxicated, but most importantly, he was male. The voice that had uttered the spell of Caspian's servitude, the beautiful sound that had pulled his fae body into existence at the bottom of the hot spring with a force akin to that of a magnetic pull, was female. Miniscule waves of disturbed waters radiated out in a butterfly effect from the body of the rising kelpie, gaining in strength as his entire body began traveling up the edge of the spring. The more the stallion was revealed, starting with his large head down to his massive flanks, the more ridiculous the notion became that a hot spring so small came to house such an immense creature. But there it was, a horse too large to be normal, too nightmarishly black to be mortal, marching out of the depths of a hot spring in the middle of the Sionad tundra. Per her request, that is.

The kelpie seemed to assess the situation as he closed the safe distance she'd put between herself and the warm spring, tossing his head slightly to and fro between the unconscious man, the naked girl, and the curious expanse of snow that bared no footprints. How could that be so; that two humans stood beside the spring, but without the evidence of their arrival? His own hooves left a trail of round craters as he trudged towards her, sinking deeply into the accumulated snow. Bowing his sinewy equine neck, he regarded her naked body with inquisitive eyes as white as pearls, awaiting further instruction from the one he knew, instinctually, had called upon him. The stallion paused in his advancement towards her, however, and halted his once-over of her at her feet.

She wasn't sinking into the snow? And she seemed wet, but he hadn't sensed any warmth from her body. In fact, Caspian found that he'd identified what it was about this woman's face that had given him reason to believe she wasn't human, and it was not the unusual facial features she possessed. It was water vapor. Like his own breath, as chilled as the arctic air, her's was not vaporizing upon exposure to the frigid atmosphere. And her body seemed to be wet with moisture, quite like his, but it did not some originate from the hot spring – he could smell the difference between the two. The dark horse took a cautionary step towards her, his oddly smooth ears folded back in a very equine way as he pointedly sniffed in her direction. No, the water on her body wasn't quite like anything he'd smelt before.

But the long, throaty cry of a baying hound in the distance had the stallion belaying its behavior, and twisting its body in the direction of the sudden intrusion of noise. Centuries of experience had Caspian clipping together details in a matter of seconds, gathering quickly that this naked inhuman girl must have been being pursued by some community whose ambitions didn't quite align with her own. After all, dogs weren't employed for much else than hunting and rescue parties. Considering the human male, whose blood he must have tasted and who was frozen in unfortunately immobilizing places, was undoubtedly the sacrifice she had to offer... it seemed to be both a rescue and a hunt. The girl in question? The kelpie galloped to her in three colossal sweeps of his legs, bringing his body in a protective proximity to her bare form, and potentially flicking droplets of near-freezing water at her from the ends of his pitch black mane. The girl was no fairy, that was for certain... but she wasn't human, she was born of one of water's forms, and she had to resort to calling upon him to serve her. That was saying something.

Incidentally, that something was all Caspian needed to know to bend to her will.

"They're coming for you," He informed her needlessly, his voice never emanating from his water horse form, but rather coming into existence as simply and questionably as he had rose from the springs, "Give me a command. Quickly."
