The Haevar are a tribal, small community people with clawed feet, long, pointed ears reminiscent of a rabbits, and prone to both necromantic and life magic. More here, want some bunnies? The Red Jewel is a pirate ship Captained by
Vailea La Emere, a lich of 2500 years. The crew is half undead - skeletons, zombies, and ghouls - and the rest 20 some men and women are talented individuals who value treasure, pleasure, and having a good time prowling around the Hivan Ocean. Obviously, they should be fine with undead, too.
The Red Jewel and those aboard generally value more than just silver and gold as treasure. Experiences are worth just as much, depending on what they are - there shouldn't be any fun at the expense of other crew members. A good time is as good a reason as any to do something and everyone is encouraged to find and make their own fun. There's little by way of a moral compass on the ship.
More here, create some crew! The Sentinels are a group of people devoted to Shinrai, a Goddess of law, order, truth, justice, and what some may regard an odd sense of mercy and protection. Standing up for the weak against the oppression of evil magics, which is generally all magic that is not put to use in the strict, monitored service of others. Blessed Sentinels are those who have gone through rigorous, violent, physically, and mentally demanding training so that they can learn to use a caster's magic against them ( more explained below ). All are welcomed to join and those casters willing to subject them to Shinrai's law are used as tools in a quiet, but bloody, cloak and dagger holy war to exterminate those that use magic for selfish purposes.
More here, create some Sentinels! The Sect of Scales is an old religion, or cult depending on who you ask, devoted to an old line of hydra that exist in the Terrin Mountains. While the Sect used to flourish down into the lands of Serendipity, it is now quieted and cloistered in a couple of temples dotting the mountain range. They maintain a low profile, appearing largely like peaceful villages around large temples built on some part of the mountain. Any outsiders or travelers visiting any of these places are likely to leave with an impression that they've just visited some odd, cloistered peoples but are usually none the wiser to what might really be going on.
