Title: Hearts of the Scorned
Post by: Jounin64 on May 16, 2015, 06:58:05 PM
Calex walks along river when their stomach starts growling.
"Mortal we must feast soon remember if I die so do you." Mazarath instructs.

"I know, I know, but I'm not a hunter and gatherer I'm a farmer, so we won't be able to eat until we reach a town." Calex bluntly replies.

"Fool! If necessary we must become scavengers, the carcasses or your kind included." Mazarath demands.

"Great...that will make people less afraid of us. They wouldn't understand anyways, so if worse comes to worse why not." Calex suddenly stops when they see a fire off in the distance "Hey Mazarath I think I found our food. Will you let me use your magic this time?"

"Fool! Why would I not let you use my magic to kill mortals and take their food."

"Why did I even ask..." Calex mutters as they sneak closer to the campfire. When Calex got a closer look they saw five figures dressed in rouge attire. They aim Mazarath at the closest one and a giant flame comes out engulfing the first victim. The other four suddenly turn around to see where the fire came from and tried to attack, only to be caught in the next blast of fire. Only one survived by jumping into the river to douse the flames.

"You have just made a big mistake! You will regret the day to attacked the Soot Wolves!" The Soot Wolf then fled. Calex shrugs at the threat and digs into their food supplies.

Chaos, delicious chaos. It was something she reveled in, craved. And these 'wolves' she had been hunting for nearly half the day. The men were none the wiser, and they spoke too much upon their drink around the campfire. It seemed they were hired out to hunt her.

She supposed she should be flattered that Rufus was thinking about her, but that only sent more poisonous hatred through her veins as her grin grew darker. But she bided her time, contemplating just the right way to maim and leave these men as carcasses for Rufus, as a gift.. of course, but then something most interesting happened.

She supposed she could have intervened, but Valeska was more fascinated than anything, as her eyes danced at the spectacle of fire, plundering and death. Seeing the attack was to simply rummage through the Soot Wolves camp, she had to frown. It seemed such a waste of time, and idly, she began to conjure up a storm, and felt the cool breeze rush through the river lands.

From her perch,s he did not stir, but simply watched through the branches of the tree. She wasn't sure yet what to make of this person, but anyone who went against Soot Wolves were alright in her book. But that didn't mean she couldn't play with them first. Afte rall, who knew if they could be fully trusted.

So she waited, calmly, quietly, like a cat watching mice in a field.

A storm starts rolling in, but Calex pays no attention to it. Mazarath however starts violently shaking as the water fell on them. "Mazarath you're not weak to normal rain are you?"

"Fool! Of course not! This rain is different, it's made of magic with a holy creation."

"Great...the gods really do hate us..." A loud clap of thunder vibrates through the air and the rain starts falling harder. "Damn it we're going to need to get shelter. Wait you said this magic's creation is holy which means this is just a regular spell...and with a spell comes a caster.

"Puny mortal! Show yourself to the all powerful Mazarath and their vessel!" Mazarath booms.

"I could have done that myself and be less hostile while saying it." Calex grumbles

At their words, Valeska's eyes danced in response. What fool did they think they were dealing with? Though it would be fun to see exactly what this man was (a man that, from the distance she remained perched in the tree), he sounded like two men.

A grin still cut across her face as she remained, silent and observing, but a faint, distant flash of lightning was the only reply the pair would get.

"Great we only managed to piss this person off more...I told you we should've been less hostile," Calex complains.

"Quiet mortal! I will simply set the forest in flames until they reveal themselves." Mazarath gloats.

"How? The amount of flames to surpass all this rain will waste more energy then we gained. I'm going to deal with this my way." Calex goes down to their knees and raises their arms up in a sign of surrender.

"Fool! We are an all powerful being we do not surrender!" Mazarath demands.

"Just let me do my thing ok?" Calex looks away from Mazarath. "Please whoever is doing this stop. I am Calex Baronhart former farmer and current wanderer. I have lost everything, my family, my way of life, and even my gender. I am bound to a demonic being called Mazarath who keeps me alive and gives me powerful magic. We are in search of a purpose and if you can supply one for us we will be glad to aid you. Even if it means coldblooded murder."

Oh this was rich, too rich. THe pretty little farm boy was on his knees in confession. Her eyes continued to dance at the prospect of what he proposed. Too good to be true, but she knew many men who were that much of fools.

"And if I refuse help from you and your... friend?" came her voice. She wasn't ready to reveal herself, but if they could follow her voice through the pouring rain, they'd see her leather clad figure perched in a tree on the outter ring of the make shift little camp site they had just ransacked.

(Using neutral pronouns is starting to get complicated now so I'll just use male when referring to one of them and neutral when referring to both of them.)

"Look there mortal. The voice has revealed herself." Mazarath controls Calex's hand as they stand up making them point at a leather clad figure in a tree. Calex looks at her with plead in his eyes.

"If you refuse then we will surely die. Don't worry we mean no harm to those who help. Mazarath only lets me use his magic when he feels like it, but if we did attack you it's still fire against water. As for me you don't have to worry about me doing anything perverse I'm well in simplest terms a full eunuch." Calex admits blushing

And at that confession, it had Valeska laughing. A soft applaud could be heard as the veil of rain began to subside. The rumble of thunder faded into a soft purr as a leather clad woman jumped down from the tree and landed in a graceful crouch.

Rising to her full height, they'd be able to see her wild blonde hair, the scars over her eyes, and the dark grin that consumed her lips.

"Even Eunuch's can have a little fun," she went on, her lips emphasizing each word. "You just have to be creative."
She eyed the man over, head to toe, but didn't fully approach him.

"So what's your story? I saw how you handled those men and I was... intrigued. So I watched."

Calex stands stiff as they see the woman. "Wow she's beautiful, though she's looks twice my age...but she did show interest in me...I think...I mean maybe not in a I like you way...but in a...wait she asked you a question. Stupid Calex answer before Mazarath does." Calex gets out of his state of thought.

"Well I was just a basic farmer in a small village in Ravensway and while exploring I found Mazarath who is a demonic symbiote so when I picked him up we fused as one and now I'm stuck with him forever. When I returned no one wanted anything to do with me so I left in a search for a way of life because I lost mine...As for the people I killed they were only obstacles in getting what I wanted. So Mazarath channeling his magic and allowed us to eat...don't let my meek demeanor fool you. I will kill if need be no matter who."

"If you give us mortals to kill we will happily lend our magic to you." Mazarath adds on.

Valeska kept her head titled, curiously listening to the man (or men?) speak. It was still hard to discern just what they were on about, but she'd seen and dealt with crazy men before. So she was not so easily disenchanted.

"I don't think I asked for an honest story, but you've got the farm boy look written all over you..." And she let her eyes roam over his form appreciatively. "Even if you seem to have lost some traits of being... a man."

Her eyes met back to his, and soon she was looking down at what he was calling Mazarath. Instead of answering or even responding to the idea of the offered help, she asked, "So... are you a slave to that thing on your arm?"
Title: Re: Hearts of the Scorned
Post by: Jounin64 on May 17, 2015, 08:28:04 PM
"Er kinda, Mazarath needs a vessel to live and now that we are one I need him to live so we are sort of slaves to eachother." Calex responds.

"Fool! You are my minion!"

"You only control my magic and right arm I don't think that means I am your minion!" Calex looks back up at the  women. "Um do you know where the closest village or town is? You don't have to take up our offer, but we still need more food...also I need more company than just Mazarath...He can get on my nerves a lot."

"Use that anger mortal! It just gives me power! Use it to make us the most powerful being!" Mazarath gloats.

"See what I mean..."

Eyes dancing with mirth, she chuckled and dared to approach the pair. From what she could see, he was definitely crazy. And she was someone that could admire crazy.

"Do you honestly think its wise to go into a town? Nearest one is the major city... Arca." She looked the man over, head to toe, before looking at the thing he referred to as his possessor. Her eye then looked back up at him, as the pair were barely a foot or two away.

"So farm boy... you ever been to a big city? Are you sure you and your... little friend could even handle that?"
Title: Re: Hearts of the Scorned
Post by: Jounin64 on May 17, 2015, 08:51:22 PM
As she gets closer Calex's heart starts beating faster "N-no I haven't...I've never been to far away from my village, but it must be better than rotting out here right? I mean there are many opportunities in a big city and if anyone tries to attack or swindle me Mazarath can turn them to ash."

"I will not let my vessel be jailed! I will only allow you to kill them when we will not be caught!" Calex looks down at his feet at that response then back to the woman's eyes."

"Well you can protect us right? You seem like you know your way around the city and in return we can help you."

Title: Re: Hearts of the Scorned
Post by: visualspice on May 17, 2015, 09:27:26 PM
"Protect you?" The laughter returned to her eye as she eyed the man over. She just couldn't stop smiling. "Look.. I don't make promises, and I don't make alliances, especially not after meeting someone for the first time and only having the pleasure of speaking with them for a brief bought of time.... but you...? Perhaps I could at least... escort you to the city. If anything.. this might be amusing for me."

She paused a moment to consider...
"Though if what you speak is true, and what power you have is... easily at your disposal... I might be able to make an exception on an alliance. But... I only do that with those I feel I can really trust. So.. earn my trust, and you might earn yourself a woman who can give you a most interesting proposition."
Title: Re: Hearts of the Scorned
Post by: Jounin64 on May 17, 2015, 09:42:22 PM
"Thank you so much! I will do all I can to earn that trust!" Calex beams.

"Stop groveling fool we must journey now." Mazarath demands

"R-right! Since we have no idea where we're going lead the way!" Calex/Mazarath follows the woman through the wooded area constantly bickering with each other through the whole way and the woman seemed very amused at it. Calex suddenly stops talking to Mazarath and looks at the woman.

"You know I don't even know your name yet. I don't know how long this journey will be so do you mind telling me about yourself? You already know everything about me."

Valeska paused momentarily to look the man over.
"Look at you," she seemed to purr, a finger tip toeing up his shoulder. "Haven't talked to a lot of women have you, farm boy?" She tilted her head ot the other side as she continued to take him in. "Or... any other people for that matter?"

She grinned enough to bare her teeth.

"But if you want my name, I'll give you that, but my story... the first thing you need to know about women is we like to keep our own little secrets... So perhaps if you're a good boy, I can let you know how I got this scar."
And she lifted a leather gloved hand and grabbed at a wild lock of her hair and pulled it away from her face. She leaned forward, ensuring he could see the milky white eye and the ugly bubbling of scars all around it. The eye, quite obviously, was useless.

"And the name's Valeska, Valeska Horst," she went on, letting her hair fall back over her eye as she turned to continue to lead the way down a narrow alley just on the outskirts of the city limits.

"Oh.. and another thing..." She paused to look at him from over her shoulder.
"You might want to keep that talking to your arm thing to a minimum. It would... draw unwanted attention, and... unwanted conclusions."

"I guess I have a lot to learn about people, everyone in my village were open about everything. As for Mazarath I'll do my best, it just all depends if he wants speak up or not."

As the end of the alleyway appears in the distance two men stand still blocking the exit way.

"Halt!" One of them shouts. Valeska stays back narrowing her eye at the men while Calex stops right behind her."Do you have the fee?" The man continues.

"The fee?" Calex questions.

"Yes the fee to enter the city." The other one states. Calex clenches their fists.

"I thought guards were supposed to have nice armor. I think your trying to trick me...and I don't take to kindly to dishonest folk." Calex's red eye starts glowing as they approach the men.

OOC: Just so you know, you can only control your characters, Any actions and reactions of Valeska are meant to be written by me, her creator :)
However, npcs (supporting roles we make up on the spot, like these bad dudes)- are normally shared between those in a thread, unless one wants to take on the temporary role of said npc character.

At that, Valeska laughed.
"You have a lot of learning to do if you came from such a pristine town of virgins."

But their conversation was stopped  as she noticed the two men trying to threaten passage for money. She couldn't help but grin as she pushed passed Calex and walked clean up to the men.

Having assumed neither would have been so bold, the fake 'guards' took a step back, but when the woman was near enough for them to recognize the signature scar on her face, they simply pulled out more weapons.

"Valeska!" one cried. "You are supposed to be dead."

"Yes, well, not everyone can be who they're supposed to be," And as a wicked grin began to draw across her lips, a cold and powerful wind began to surge through the alleyway while massive, dark storm clouds began to climb and grow like a mountain above them. Electricity danced across her skin, and as the men realized she was conjuring her powers...

"KILL HER! KILL THE STORM WITCH!"

But a lightning bolt to the head silenced that man who was screaming as Valeska released it from one pointed finger, and turned to dodge, just in time, a sword aiming for her head by the other 'guard'. Though the man was a lot quicker than she anticipated, and as his blade came back up, it swept a shallow cut across Valeska's side, as she let out a snarl and summoned another thunder bolt, but she missed her target and it blasted into the wall of a nearby stone building instead.

(Oh I'm really sorry the rps I've done we were allowed to do minor control of the other person's character. But I know now I wont happen again :) )

"Don't forget about me!" Calex snarls now sounding harmonious between his and Mazarath's voices. Calex sent a small fire bolt at the man's feet. He was to busy focusing on Valeska to notice the incoming attack and collapsed at the strike.

Before he could get up Calex grabs him by the hair and put Mazarath across his face. The man starts struggling, but Calex tightens their grip "No need to scream no one will care. Now go burn it is what you deserve." Calex channels their flame into the man and in seconds he was only ash.

Calex's red eye stops glowing and they collapse unconscious.

OOC: Depending on the player, the most minor control that can happen is like picking someone up if they fall, guiding said character along by their hand- but this is presuming it makes sense to the scene and character and again, if the other member is okay with that stuff :)
I'm normally flexible with the minor stuff (like actions from another character onto mine) but not reactions of my character, if that makes sense lol

As the events unfolded, she couldn't say she wasn't impressed. To turn a man to ash.. just like that? It made a wicked smile curl across her lips. But that was soon turning sour as she cursed and moved over to his unconscious body. Giving his side a light kick, she asked, "Hey! Hot stuff... get the hell off the ground!"

But seeing as he was unconscious, she debated leaving him there or find a place to drag him and dump him. She chose the latter, and moved to drag the man by his arm. He was heavier than he looked, and she was just grateful his power seemed to be turned off when he was asleep. She really didn't feel like being turned to ash today.

She moved him to the closest building around which... ironically, was a whore house.  Kicking open the door, the women all turned their way as she dragged Calex in by his limp arm.

"I need a room and a bed, and one whore."

And when Calex would eventually awaken...
He'd find himself in a strange room with a half dressed woman, and the strange, scarred woman was no where to be seen.

OOC: Hope it's okay to presume she dragged his unconscious form somewhere XD
To me, that's more or less the extent of what one can do to another character, as it doesn't command them, just realistically has the other character force an action upon them due to a story scenario,~
if that makes sense XD

(Yeah it  does. XD Still I'm really sorry I should've asked before doing that)

Calex suddenly wakes up in a bed with unfamiliar surroundings. He slowly gets ups. "Ugh what happened?" Calex thinks while rubbing the back of his neck. He suddenly becomes aware that Valeska is no wear around and a whore is laying next to him.

Calex looks at he whore lustfully, but suddenly snaps out of it upon remembering his predicament and sarcastically thanked Mazarath in a hushed whisper for that. He then looks at the whore. "Don't say or do anything ok? I'm leaving here now and just tell your boss I woke up and you did your work...and also tell them I was passed out from drinking to much."

The whore only nodded in astonishment as Calex escaped through the window. "Great...she's gone...I knew I shouldn't have trusted her...but I will find here I swear it." Calex mutters.

"Mortal our attackers recognized her right away she must have a high bounty on her...perhaps we could pose as a sell sword in search of her." Mazarath suggests in an usually hushed tone.

"You're right I'll go to the closest pub and start there." Calex whispers looking straight ahead. They enter the pub and Calex booms loud enough for the whole place to here him. "Alright does any of you know the whereabouts of Valeska Horst! You see I am hired by a very important client and anyone who helps me on my search will be greatly rewarded!"

(I don't know if you were planning on controlling the NPC if so sorry :c)
Title: Re: Hearts of the Scorned

OOC: No worries, you're fine :D
and npcs are fair game! If I decide I want to claim an npc, I'll let you know in advanced lol

ANd everyone in the pub turned to look at the man in silence. But just as quickly, they all turned away from him and went back to their conversations and drink.

OOC: Sorry for the short post, but I figured we can't make it that easy on him :D
Title: Re: Hearts of the Scorned

(Haha true very true XD)

"Dirty humans! They aren't worth our time! I can't believe I used to think nothing is wrong with this world!" Calex spits out venomously to himself. Calex storms out of the pub only to be stopped by a muscled woman in the same attire as the ones from the camp.

"Where do you think you're going kid?" The woman says baring a menacing grin.

"Away from you." Calex responds pushing past her only to be caught by the arm.

"Those are some big words for someone so young." The woman's grip gets tighter. "I don't think you should speak to your elders that way." She knees Calex where his genitals should be and the attack hardly effects him. Calex grins at her. "Guess that's the only perk to being a eunuch." Calex chuckles

Her failure only seems to anger her more and she throws Calex to the ground. Before he could get up her boot was firmly placed on his stomach and she starts to apply pressure.

"This is what you get for attacking the Soot Wolves!" She yells.

"Mazarath I could use some help here." Calex manages to gasp out.

"Fool, we are in a public area."

"Then atleast enough to burn her." Calex grasps her ankle hoping Mazarath would follow through and the sudden yelp and lack of pressure told him that he did. Calex quickly scurries away from the woman and finds himself residing in an alleyway.

Perhaps she should have gotten the hell away from there, but this city? It was more or less her home, even if she was a wanted criminal among her former gang and the city guards. But that did not mean she couldn't keep her eye on the Soot Wolves, seeing what the pups were up to and trying to get any secrets out of them that might give her a lead to get a jump on Rufus.

However, the scene that soon took place was more amusing than it ought to have been, as Valeska remained perched on the roof, smirking, as she watched Calex's struggle below.
Title: Re: Hearts of the Scorned

Calex slumps against a wall still gasping for air. "I really wish Valeska was there then...I bet she could teach me how to fight." A relieved smile spreads across his face. "Yeah that's what I'll do when I find her. I bet she'll be a great instructor." A loud grumble interrupts Calex.

"Mortal it is feasting time again!" Mazarath commands.

"Yeah, yeah I know just let me get...ouch" Calex tried to get up only to find himself back down wincing in pain. "Ugh I think I pulled at least 20 muscles and maybe even broke some bones...looks like our death really was inevitable."

"Fool! Fight the pain! We cannot let this kill us! We are stronger than that!" Mazarath desperately yells.

"There's nothing we can do now except hope for a helping hand."

Her laughter rang in an echoing chain throughout the alleyway Calex was perched. She couldn't help herself, this show was so...

"That was the single most pathetic way I have ever witnessed, or heard, someone groveling for help." And the smile she wore from where she remained, legs crossed, on the edge of the roof top, was positively wicked.

"Valeska! I knew you'd come back! I was half expecting another storm entrance. Calex beams and chuckles at his last comment. "So could you help Mazarath and I we still need to heal up and eat.  Oh and can you teach me to fight? I was attacked by a member of a group called the Soot Wolves. I guess when I killed some of them in the forest they really did put a target on my head...So I think I found my meaning to life I will spend it riding this world of that vile group until there's nothing left of them! Ouch!"

Calex winces back down in pain."But before I do that I got to heal."

And still, she laughed before jumping down from the rooftop into a crouch.
Rising, she stared at him, her eyes shining wtih mirth.
"Farm boy, you're better off tending to fields than dealing with men. So you've got some enchanted powers, big deal. But I don't see you having any brains on how to really use it."
And with that, she simply began to walk away.

"No!" Calex gains a rush of adrenaline letting him temporarily ignore the pain as he gets up and rushes in front of her with his arms spread. "I can't go back to farming I have nowhere to go. Here is my home now. I will find a way to pay for a home, I will learn the ins and outs of the city, and I will rid this place of the Soot Wolves!" Calex solemnly tilts his head down let his hair hang over his face.

"Back when we entered the city I don't quite know what happened, but I think I truly became one with Mazarath if I can learn to fuse minds with him at will I could become a force that people will fear...I hate that people just see me as some backwater small fry...you were the only person to even give me a small chance."

His adrenaline rush subsides and he collapses at her feet. "Please I can tell people fear you around here...you don't have to join me, but at least teach me. You are a strong, intelligent, beautiful woman and I would be honored to learn from you."

Valeska tensed. Sure, she had seen groveling before, but perhaps none as pathetic as this. She had to wonder if people were staring, good thing they were tucked away in a back alley.
"Get off your feet,"s he hissed. "If you want to be anything of value, you sure as hell need to start acting like it. And as for the compliment.... you should be careful who you trust. People here.. they fear me for a reason."

The pain now starting the ebb away Calex stands up. "Yes ma'am! I will do all I can to prove my worth! Also I have my priorities straight now I trust you and no one else. The rest of them are just dirty lying humans and you're right no one will take me seriously if I grovel all the time...It's a disgrace to my demon blood."

He shows the black veins in his wrist to her. "See? It was Mazarath's, but it's now apart of me too. Oh and do you have a place here? I kinda humiliated myself at the pub and I'm starving."

He was really like a puppy dog. And despite her not being a fan of such persons, she was in, at least, a better mood this day. So perhaps he was lucky.

"That pub used to be one of my favorites,"s he pointed out, not agreeing nor turning him away as she began to walk away. "Well, back when I as a Soot Wolf."

Calex followed eyes wide. "What?! That's actually great news...I mean if you ended on bad terms because you know their system and they must hate you so you have just as much if not more incentive to kill them too!" Calex gains a uncharacteristically malicious grin.

"When we kill the Soot Wolves' leader we should make it slow like I set a fire to their stomach and you douse it and each time the flame gets bigger and hotter!"

Valeska couldn't help but grin at such an idea. Any harm that was due to Rufus would naturally make her happy. A scorned lover was never something to reckon with. However, she still saw this green around the gills mage as just that- fresh meat and too innocent for his own good.

She slowed her walk to eye him from over her shoulder.

"I've got many reasons to be at war with the Wolves." She looked him over. "What's really the reason you seem so adamant to have them eradicated?"
Title: Re: Hearts of the Scorned

"That's simple, an eye for an eye. I attacked them for food, then they assaulted me for revenge. They seem like a big organization so I'll always have a target on me. I'm sick of running away from my problems so the only way I can solve this one is to kill them all."

Calex then beams a big grin. "Plus Mazarath always has more fun when there's a mass group of people to kill."

An eye for an eye? She supposed any revenge scenario could be broiled down to this simple statement, but she knew her revenge was a lot more complicated than that. After all, she had been rather close to Rufus... and he might have been one of the few men that had seen her so vulnerable.

"Well, your plan isn't entirely insane, but most others would turn tail and run."

"Well I'm not like most others. I lost my manhood a few months till I was officially a man and I thought that meant somethin like a message from the gods that I don't deserve anything I was born with, but now I know it only means I can restart my life. I've learned a lot from my short time with you."

Calex stomach growls more ravenously. "So is where we're heading have food, I don't know how long until Mazarath does his feast time speech."

"Oh? And is your master always so... demanding?" she asked, purposely ignoring the other question.

A glare quickly developes on Calex's face. "He's not my master! Two beings in one require more food so he starts making demands because we'll both die if we don't eat."

"Fool! I am your master! Everytime you get angry I get more powerful! I can already control half your body now!" Mazarath gloats as he controls Calex's other arm.

"W-what...no we will become one we are partners." Calex looks back to Valeska. "Sorry about that,in short terms yes my...partner is very demanding all the time."

Valeska gave a cold laugh.
"I don't know.. perhaps you ought to leave this city. If you think I'm the only one that can help you, and I'm believing you're... crazy, it doesn't seem to have high hopes for you now does it?" she went on with a dark smirk.

"No! I need this I can't be! I can't be abandoned again!" Calex's red eye begins glowing again. "This is my home now and I wont leave!"

Calex's other eye darts in desperation then suddenly becomes very focused and he relaxes as his red eye fades back to normal. He readjusts his posture. "So, I'm staying with you no matter what."

At such an idea, it made her skin crawl as she paused in midstride.
She peered over at him.
"I work alone, preferably."
Her eyes roamed over his figure.
"And if you stick around me, you'll know why. Things are better that way anyway. Being alone offers a person so much more freedom than feeling the need and desire to tag along in someone else's shadow."
And that was something she knew far too well.

"But if you're looking for a community, some allies against the Soot Wolves we both seem to loath, I could introduce you to the Mountain Cats. I have an alliance with them, as it seems they too, have a mutual hatred towards the Wolves."

"Atleast you have the choice to be alone..." Calex says while glumly looking down at Mazararath. "As for your offer I accept! Enemy of my enemy is my friend right?"
Title: Re: Hearts of the Scorned

Valeska forced a smile. It was going to take a lot of effort for her to try not to kill him. She was used to men being a lot more confident, but thankfully, it seemed she was in charge of this temporary alliance, so she could leave his ass whenever she wanted.

But as he went over her choice to be alone...
Part of her, deep inside, realized that was the seed of her hatred.
But she couldn't deny the power she held by being a one woman army.

"Well, if you're that enthused, I hope you don't mind walking, because the Mountain Cats don't have a head quarters here, in the city." She gestured towards the edge of town, which was quite a whiles away at this part.

"We'd have to travel to the River Lands."

Calex beams, this will be his first time being able to work with a team. "I don't mind walking my stamina is better than a work horse. I'll just need to eat a lot haha...so are we stopping by somewhere first to prepare or are we heading out right away?" Calex's stomach growls even louder.

"I really don't want to eat corpses like the last time I was in the riverlands."

Valeska looked the man over.
"That depends... are you asking me out to dinner?" she asked him, playfully.

Calex suddenly blushed. He thought that she didn't like him and thought of him as a vermin, so this question came to him as a surprise. He readjusts his posture.

"W-why y-yes I am!" He manages to get out not able to hold back a cheeky smile. "I would pay if I had any money."
Title: Re: Hearts of the Scorned

At that, Valeska cackled.
"You sound like every other man I've met. Though I suppose I'll have to be paying..."
But she paused a moment to eye him up. "What foods do you and your... master approve of?"
Title: Re: Hearts of the Scorned
Post by: Jounin64 on May 26, 2015, 01:30:38 PM
Before the fusion Calex would've been insulted by that comment, but being called like every other man now makes him feel like he really is a man still. He then refocuses on the question.

"Um well me and my partner will eat anything so I'd say we'd approve of anything haha." Calex stops and thinks for a moment. "Where do you have in mind?"
Title: Re: Hearts of the Scorned

"Well, I don't know how cannibals like to eat, but I generally go for a nice, thick cut of steak."
And she continued to scrutinize him.
"Though it's not cheap... How much can you eat?"
Title: Re: Hearts of the Scorned
Post by: Jounin64 on May 27, 2015, 07:42:05 PM
"Hey! That was a last resort and I could go for steak we'd used have em fresh from the farm." Calex then flashes a toothy grin at her next question. "I can eat a whole horse if need be, but expense wise I can settle for a little."
Title: Re: Hearts of the Scorned
Post by: visualspice on May 29, 2015, 09:28:19 PM
Valeska eyed him over, and it was hard to tell if it was a scrutinizing gaze, or one to cut daggers into him. But she flashed him a cold grin anyhow.

"You've earned at least one steak," she told him through her teeth. "And if you prove useful, farm boy, you might get seconds."

She gave the subtlest gesture for him to follow, before she began to walk down a nearby alley.

"You'll want to drop the whole starry eyed thing if you want to survive in this town," she told him bluntly, still walking and not bothering to look back to check on him. "Pick pockets and thieves will smell you for miles away. And most of them are wolves."

It was then she glanced over her shoulder at him.

"You've already made an impression on them, and one to earn you bad marks."
She grinned. "But so long as I'm your escort, the wolves will only howl." She gave a bit of a sigh, as if feigning boredom. "They tend to have more bark than bite without their fearless leader to command them at his beck and whim."

And it was here she stopped talking as she looked up at an old wooden sign that creaked lightly in the wind.

"Well, here we are. The place ain't great, but the food is cheap as piss."
She moved to roll he shoulders as she cracked her back and looked him over.
"You think you can handle a simply thing as table manners when we get inside?"
She looked him over, then looked down to the thing on his arm.
Title: Re: Hearts of the Scorned
Post by: Jounin64 on May 29, 2015, 09:49:16 PM
Calex intently listened and mentally took note of everything Valeska said as they walked to their destination. "Hmmm less starry eyed...so should I embrace Mazarath more because he knows more about life than I do...and I don't think the wolves would even bark at a demon." Calex thinks lost in his mind.

Him and Valeska arrived at a pretty run down place. Calex suddenly snaps back into reality when he hears Valeska's question. "Y-yes I have table manners...manners was big in my village...or at least they were to people like them. As for Mazarath he knows better than to cause a scene."

"Correct mortal I shall not let my vessel be jailed even for minor crimes. I shall remain silent until we have left." Calex smiles due to Mazarath's cooperation. Then he quickly scrambles to open the door for Valeska before she enters.
Title: Re: Hearts of the Scorned
Post by: visualspice on May 29, 2015, 09:55:30 PM
Valeska paused to give the man a look over.
"You weren't kidding about those manners. Opening the door for a lady.."
And she paused mid stride to tip toe two fingers up his chest.
"That's exactly what you shouldn't be doing in a place like this."
She gave him a small, mean grin before waltzing clean past him and made her way towards a table in the back where the lightning was most dim. Thankfully, there weren't many patrons at this hour. But the place was going to shit anyway, as was evident by a large, thick cockroach that scurried past their feet.
Title: Re: Hearts of the Scorned
Post by: Jounin64 on May 29, 2015, 10:21:30 PM
Calex froze up as she got so close to him then after heeding her warning he quickly followed her and sat with her. Calex curiously looks at the cockroach as it scuttles across the floor and a patron trying to kill it, but failing. He found it all interesting that something so small could survive that.

He looks back at Valeska and smiles. "Well at least it's better than eating without any shelter."
Title: Re: Hearts of the Scorned
Post by: visualspice on May 29, 2015, 10:28:16 PM
Valeska laughed.
"You won't be saying that after you have their beer."
And she waved to the bar wench.
"Two beers for us and a couple of steaks. And make one... extra rare." And she leaned across the table to tell the ample bossomed wench, "He likes things bloody, if you know what I mean."
Title: Re: Hearts of the Scorned
Post by: Jounin64 on May 30, 2015, 07:27:55 PM
The wench eyed Calex quizzically at that comment and he just slouched back, his face burning red with embarrassment. The beer arrived first and Calex intently looked for any signs that the beer isn't good, but he found none.

He takes a hopeful swig of the beer only to expel it on the floor. "By the gods! I didn't think barley could spoil until now!"

Valeska's eye danced as her smile grew.
"I did warn you. But you'll grow used to it. It's the only affordable drink in this town. Even the water served is dirty."
Title: Re: Hearts of the Scorned

Calex gives her a sheepish smile still recovering from the drink. "Yeah I do hope...better start getting used to it now." Calex takes another swig, this time downing it shuttering as it goes down his throat. The wench now returned with two steaks and Calex eyed it hungrily. He resisted tearing it apart and picked up his knife to start carving.
Title: Re: Hearts of the Scorned

At first, Valeska didn't cut into her steak, but rather watched him. It felt like watching a wolf in men's clothing. She could see the hunger in his eye unlike that of a natural man's, and had to wonder just what exactly could cause it. Surely, the farm boy's alter ego was to blame, but was that really all it was? Sure, he could have a demon with him, why not?S he had seen what he'd done...
But it was still very strange...

The man seemed a bit too innocent and naive to really grasp what he was getting himself into and perhaps she had a twisted fascination to keep him along. Either way, she still didn't touch her food as she crossed one leg over the other and simply stared.

Calex took the first bite of his steak and his eyes went wide as he started to sate his ever growing hunger. The taste danced across his tongue the taste of meat...the taste of blood set him in a state of euphoria.

He continued bite after quickly becoming more addicted to the flavor until there was no more. He looked up to see Valeska hasn't touched her steak yet. "Something wrong?" He asked curiosly.

Valeska's amused expression did not change.
"No, nothing's wrong,"s he went on. "Enjoying your steak?" she asked, finally picking up her knife.

"Y-yes it was very delicious! It's weird eating normal food again, but a good weird." He sees that Valeska has just picked up her knife. "Is there any reason ya haven't eaten yet?"
Title: Re: Hearts of the Scorned

At his question, she finally cut into the meat.
"I was just fascinated how the farm boy was handling his meal." She chuckled and lifted a piece to her lips and began to enjoy the steak herself. As usual, the steak was good. It was pretty fresh her, even if the ale was lousy. But she supposed beggars couldn't be choosers.

"So do I eat meat like anyone else." Calex gives off a nervous laugh. "Oh and about those Mountain Cats whose in charge and what are they like? I really don't feel like being cast away for Mazarath again..."

"They're just a gang that has its roots in the wilderness and focuses on high way robbery and... unique trading and pick pocketing. But as of lately, the number of Soot Wolves has grown, and the two gangs have been butting heads. It was around that time I was.... looking for an excuse to find a way to pay my dues to the Soot Wolves for what they've done." And she stared at Calex plainly, wondering if he could guess what they've done to her- though the truth was obvious as the scar on her face, because that's just what it was (well, part of it, anyway.)
Title: Re: Hearts of the Scorned

Calex nodded intently at the information. "Well it sounds like I can do the same." Calex stares back at Valeska wondering why she was staring at him. He looks at the scars, then looks at her again then back to the scars then two and two clicked. "D-did the Soot Wolves give you those scars?"
Title: Re: Hearts of the Scorned

Valeska's smile tugged just a bit wider, but her eye looked poisonous while the other one would ever remain a milky, stagnent and unblinking mark upon her face.
"Not just any wolf," she told him, gritting her teeth in an unpleasant smile. "But their leader, Canis Rufus."
Title: Re: Hearts of the Scorned

Calex's eyes nearly bulged out of his head at that response. "Y-you were that close to him? You must have been high up in the ranks then. Did ya know him personally, like were ya just acquaintances,  friends, or um." Calex starts to blush.

"Something more intimate." Mazarath finishes for him.

"Uh yeah that..." Calex says still blushing.
Title: Re: Hearts of the Scorned

Valeska just continued to give him that cool, dark smile.
"It was definitely more than friendly, if that's what you mean," she went on, putting a cube of steak into her mouth as she chewed it slow.
Title: Re: Hearts of the Scorned

Calex still remains a deep shade of red. "Must've been hard then...if you were that close then and have so much bad blood now." He then beams a smile. "But I help you clear that bad blood! It'll be easier with one err two more people with ya!"
Title: Re: Hearts of the Scorned
Post by: visualspice on June 04, 2015, 04:17:35 PM
At that, Valeska did laugh.
"Please, I don't need or want your help. Besides, who says I want to get rid of the bad blood? I rather like myself this way. And besides, I only want to make the man suffer until he begs for his inevitable death. I don't think that's asking TOO much."
Title: Re: Hearts of the Scorned
Post by: Jounin64 on June 04, 2015, 04:56:30 PM
Calex slinks back in his chair. "I'm always up for making a degenerate suffer, but if ya don't want me then why keep me around? Am I just your little pet that you can laugh at when I do something strange?" Calex's red eye flickers as they await an answer.

Calex felt Mazarath's anger their eye started to glow, but the way Valeska looked at him, made him calm down and their eye dimmed down back to normal. "I will be more than just your pet I will prove that I can be more of a man then that dirty wolf Canis Rufus."

Calex lost all composure at that. "W-what?! Nooo err I mean maybe, or uh yes? Err uh y-yeah I was trying..." His blush rapidly returned as a deep shade of crimson. "I mean I know I can be annoying and I don't look all that much like a man, or have anything between my legs, but you've been nicer to me than most...and I'll shut up now." Calex buries his face into his hands in embarrassment.

"Tell you what," Valeska went on, with a grin as she leaned across the table.
"After we finish our meal here, I'll escort you out of town, or even to the road heading East. This place, this city? It's not for a man like you."

It was too dark and this man? He seemed almost innocent, like a child.
Title: Re: Hearts of the Scorned

"But I can't abandon this place...I'll only leave this city to join the Mountain Cats and when I get back I'll be stronger, wiser, and more in control of Mazarath." He has almost a dreamy look in his eyes. He then focuses back to reality. "I gladly accept your offer. "It's not about if it's similar. Fighting and pitching hay are completely different past times, I assure you." She sighed and had just finished her steak when she crossed her legs and leaned back into her chair. "Despite whatever curses you, you're just too.... good." She went on, wrinkling her nose in disgust. "It would be like trying to corrupt a child."

"But I've killed like eight people! What harm is it to teach me how to fight if I am already ok with killing?"

Calex notices that Valeska finished her steak and the wench was heading back to their table. "Are we gonna pay or ditch?"
Title: Re: Hearts of the Scorned
Post by: visualspice on June 12, 2015, 07:36:10 PM
She hadn't considered ditching, but the idea made her eyes twinkle.

"Ditching could be fun,"s he told him with a catty grin. "But if we're to ditch, let's order another round of steaks and drinks, first."
Title: Re: Hearts of the Scorned

"Haha I could do a different drink then their beer though." Butterflies gathered in Calex's stomach. This felt so wrong yet so good to think of breaking the law. He's only done it for survival reasons, but never for fun. "Well you do need to eat to survive, so I'm not breaking my honor." He thinks strangely in Mazarath's voice.
Title: Re: Hearts of the Scorned
Post by: visualspice on June 12, 2015, 08:33:37 PM
"Breaking your honor?" Valeska eyed him over playfully, hungrily as she grinned. "So you really are a virgin, huh, farm boy?"

Before he'd get a chance to reply, she turned from him and waved to the bar wench.
"Two more steaks- no, make it three," she tossed a wink towards Calex. "And two more beers and the best mead you've got in the house."

The woman nodded and hastily moved off to get their request to the kitchen staff while Valeska slowly finished her drink while her eyes continued to dance playfully as they remained locked onto Calex.

"So what else haven't you done?" she asked, playful and curious.

"Yeah...and I'll forever be one." Calex says glumly looking down. When he hears Vsleska's next question he slowly looks up. "Well let's see I've never stolen, lied, or had a special someone, I was the backbone of my village, so I was to busy doing errands to have a social life."

The bar wench starts approaching Calex and Valeska and Calex looks at Valeska expectantly for an order.

Valeska eyed him over and waved to the wench.
"How are the steaks?"

"Still cookin'," she went on, and gave them each fresh drinks. "Any thing else can I get for you?"

Valeska shook her head. "No, unless my friend here does," she went on, and gestured to Calex.

Calex froze up in the sudden attention towards him. He hadn't planned on what to say because he was looking for instruction. That is when Mazarath whispers "Let me handle it just move your lips." Calex looked up at her and started lip-syncing to Mazarath. "I could think of a few things but it ain't food." Then Mazarath makes him wink while Calex is desperately holding back from blushing so their cover isn't blown.

THough he didn't blush, the woman did. And she mumbled something and wandered off to get their food. And at that, Valeska simply smiled much like a cat in the cream as she looked at Calex.
"That wasn't you, was it?"
The voice was too smooth, and if it were the farm boy, he'd be nervously prattling and never getting the words out. Clearly, his 'master' was the smooth talker.

Her grin was catty as she observed him, seeming to silently purr as she did. And when the woman set down their drinks, Valeska turned to her.
"So what's your opinion of my friend here? I think he might be into you, if you catch my drift."

The woman blinked and turned from Valeska to Calex, before averting her own gaze and then looking to Calex again.
"He looks like a softy. Sweet. I suppose that's charming to most girls. I ain't used to it, to tell you the truth, but..."

Valeska raised her brows.
"But...?"

"The way he talks doesn't seem to match the way he looks. If anything," she moved uneasily and sighed. "He reminds me of my brother. It's.. not exactly a turn on."

Valeska's grin grew.

"Ah.. so not into incest?" Valeska asked and the wench had to laugh at that.

"Not exactly! Not at least somethin' I'd consider!"

Calex shrunk down blushing deeply. "Well I'm glad I can be laughed about." Calex mutters. Then Mazarath moves Calex's hand on the table revealing him.

"But there is more to this vessel than something like your brother." Mazarath gloats

The wench only shook her head.
"Maybe another time, and if I'm drunk." And with that, she turned to leave.

Calex buries his face into his hands. "Well I've never been so humiliated in my life before, maybe we should forget about the food and just leave now."

Valeska's eyes danced at the idea.
"Why? I think the fun's just starting," she told him with casual coyness as she leaned back in her chair and sipped simply at her drink.

Calex shrinks down into chair. "Maybe for you, but your the boss so I guess we'll just stay. Calex then takes a large gulp of his drink.

Calex looks away unable to make direct eye contact for what he is about to say. "If that is what you want...I'll be whatever you want as long as I have you to teach me about the world."

Valeska was all smiles.
"Then we need to get more drinks. I think this'll be a lot more fun for us both if we're drunk." and just like that, she ordered them another round.
"To our relationship," she said, raising her mug in toast.

Calex gives her a sheepish grin as the drinks came and raised his glass as she did. "To our relationship." He takes a big swig of his drink now starting to feel a buzz the drink comes down easier so he takes another.

Valeska didn't need to smell the alcohol on his breath to know he was getting drunk. It was evident in his eyes and the way he held himself now. But that made her smile only grow larger as she drank and pressed him to do so even more. Things would definitely get more interesting the more booze she could get into him.

Drink after drink went down his throat and he began loosing sight of what he was doing. Calex tried getting up for reasons he couldn't even think of at that time only to end up stumbling toward Valeska and falling into her lap.

*hic* "Sorry miss." He drunkenly mumbles

Though she had as many drinks as he, she was only starting to get tipsy. He was a light weight, so ti was to be expected, but when he fell into her lap, she studied his face and traced calloused fingers along his jaw.

"Were you a pretty man before your dick was taken away?" she asked him coolly, eyes never once leaving his. "Or was that just part of your little obligations to your new master?"

Normally this would makes Calex tongue tied, but in his drunken state things came more smoothly. "I looked more like a man before so I don't think I was..." His eyes match hers then he focuses in on her scar. "Were you always so beautiful before you got your scar or was that the only good thing that weak wolf has done?"

She gave him a toothy grin as her eyes took his in. But she said nothing to his comment and simply asked, "Why? Do you want to kiss me? Because I wouldn't mind."

Excitement tingled through his body as he hastily tries to sit up. After four or so stumbles he finally sits up straight. "Sorry if I ain't good this is my first time after all." He pulls Valeska in and gives her a long kiss.

Valeska was about to tell him not to worry about it and to reconsider before he hurt himself, but once their lips locked, she felt the heat and moved to press her body closer to his.
"First time?" she purred, looking lustfully into his gaze. "Then perhaps we ought to get more practice," and she leaned forward, her lips meeting to his as she kissed him hard. ANd to add a bit of flavor to the moment, she slipped in her tongue, seeking to wrestle it with his.

This surprised Calex he didn't know people did those kind of things, but it felt amazing so he decided to slide his tongue in too. Heat surges through his body as they continue to kiss and Calex embraces her closer.

Valeska simply chuckled and gave him a patronizing pat.
"Don't worry about it." She peered over to see the bar wench was busy.
"I think now might be as good a time as any to get out of this place. I'm pretty sure our unpaid bill would make just about anyone cry." And she moved to stand. "Come on. Let's not dawdle." And she headed towards the door.

"Anywhere but this place!" she called out through a barked laugh as she moved to run. "Your exit was rather clumsy," she told him with a smirk as she looked at him from over her shoulder, and was soon rounding a bend, then another, moving swiftly through the town's weaving streets.

Calex hastily follows her slightly teetering with every turn. *hic* "I don't have the best agility especially when I'm drunk." *hic* Calex giggles at his own comment. An epiphany then suddenly dawns on him. "How bout we go outside the city."

"I don't know.. " she went on with a wicked grin and light tap to her lower lip. "We could always run into another sort of wolf altogether. But if you're really done here... Come." She gave his shoulders a hefty pat. "Let's get going then."

A man walks by noticing Calex's predicament and laughs. He nudges Calex's body with his foot and Calex responds with muffled gibberish.

Realizing how drunk Calex his, the man started searching him for any valuables.

ANd that's when Valeska pulled a knife on the man and pressed the cold blade gently to the side of his throat.
"And just what do you think you're doing?"

The color in the man's already pale face flushed even further as he raised his hands up. "I-I didn't mean no harm I swear it!"

Mazarath moves without Calex's consent and grabs the man's ankle. "Scarred puny mortal which fate for this pickpocket is more deserving? His throat slit or being burned alive?" He booms at Valeska.

Mazarath maniacally chuckles "Only if you you found me instead." The pickpocket lit him ablaze then Mazarath threw him by the ankle and he landed infront of Valeska's feet.

Her eyes shined with a giddy darkness as she heard the man wail and scream as his flesh did alight. It's flames reflected in her eyes- even the milky white one before she moved to crouch over the suffering fool and snatched him by the throat, and rammed her dagger clean into the middle of it. The man gurgled up blood, eyes widening before dimming as he slumped away, still on fire, but by now, he was very much dead.

The blood that bubbled out from the wound sizzled from the fire, and the rancid smell of smoking, human flesh began to cloud the air. Valeska stood up and simply kicked the corpse aside.

"Well, that was amusing while it lasted. Shall we?"

"Yes the puny mortal shall follow you this time." A light flickered from Mazarath and through Calex. Calex jolts up still a bit out of it.

"I guess I didn't quite know where I was going...so lead the way then haha." Calex responds still not quite sober.

Valeska grinned wickedly, a finger moving to press just beneath his tongue. She could still smell the alcohol. Without so much as a word, she found herself kissing the fool, long and hard and even slipping in a bit of tongue before pulling away- her grin just as wicked, if not more cocky, than before.

"Wh-Wha-" Calex barely had any time to react. He followed her motions finding it weird that she slipped her tongue in his mouth, but it felt good so he copied the action. When she pulled away it left him with a big foolish grin.

He wondered what he did to deserve that until he spotted the bloodied charred corpse. He then quickly tried to recompose himself to look a bit more serious and only somewhat succeeded.

"It was..." Calex sheepishly trailed "Or at least the first I can remember...I don't remember much from back at the tavern." Calex rubs the back of his neck laughing nervously "So lead the way!"

She couldn't help but grin at his reply.
"I can't say I ever met a real virgin." For it was obvious he was one! "Or a prude.. and one that I even liked to talk with." She grinned. "Or even walk with. Though perhaps we'll have to remedy that, and a few more things on this little adventure. After all, there is a lot you can learn from your demons."

Calex blushes. "Well I'll take that as a compliment!" He beams while trying to keep up next to her instead of his usual tag along from behind.

When Valeska reaches the demons part he chuckles nervously. "Yeah, I already have a demon fused with me, imagine the ones that are truly apart of me."

Valeska peered at him curiously.
"Do you honestly think you have any demons inside you other than the real one I've seen today?" she asked, playfully.
Title: Re: Hearts of the Scorned

Calex looks off into the distance wistfully. "Ya never know." He then proceeds to chuckle. "This world ain't nothing like what I thought it was, I guess my morals could be changed...Hell maybe I've contracted even more real demons that are literally in me that'll change me."

Breaking his stare, he looks Valeska in the eyes, with a friendly grin. "Whatcha think my potential is? Am I worthy for the mighty wolf killer?"
Title: Re: Hearts of the Scorned

She smirked and jabbed a pointy finger into his chest.
"A man's ego comes from his actions, not his words. Come on, if you want a real test.... I can take you to some more wolves so we can have fun."

The idea they could off a few more wolves delighted her on so many levels. Then again, she had always been crazy about blood and money, and killing Wolves could secure both. But it also fueled her desire for revenge.

Rufus would be sorry, and she'd be giving him more than a scar in return.

At Valeska's comment, Calex's eyes light up as he grins from ear to ear. "Give me a wolf and I'll burn him. Give me the den and I'll turn it to ash."

Sometimes Calex doesn't even know why he's so obsessed with this gang. Was is all revenge? Was is in self defense? Or was it because of his attraction to Valeska? Either way fighting the these Wolves became an enjoyable activity.

She gave a chuckle between closed lips.
"I guess we'll see."

She knew of a small hide out, and she was still itching to put a bigger dent on the wolves than the few they offed earlier today. Perhaps now it was more out of 'fun' than anything else.

"It's not too far. Most of the younger 'Wolves' congregate here. They think they're being so clever." She wrinkled her nose in glee. "I know they're not larger prey but... Wolves are wolves, even the pups."

The silhouette of a small town came into view, but it looked mostly vacant and worn. She pointed to the slow moving wind mill on the hillside.

"See that? The little pups often go there to gamble and play. I'm pretty sure they'd love something to liven up their night's entertainment, don't you agree? And I think we can offer them that and a whole lot more."
Title: Re: Hearts of the Scorned
Post by: Jounin64 on December 25, 2015, 07:35:52 AM
Calex giddily eyes the windmill. "Oh yes...we can give those pups some good ol'excitement. Heck we should be rewarded for how kind we are to them. We'll be giving them some bonus entertainment for their last memories."

He licks his lips then looks back at Valeska. "So we going in all sneaky like or we straight burning the place down? I never been gambling before so I don't mind either."
Title: Re: Hearts of the Scorned

Valeska cocked her head to one side and had to smile.
"Never been gambling?" She laughed. "You surprise me, but then again, you're such a virginal bad guy."
She gave a jerk of her head. "Come on, let's see what the pups are doing, and I'll let you lead and decide how to play with them."
Title: Re: Hearts of the Scorned

Calex shrugs her shoulders at her comments. "Hey, try living in a farm your whole life, there ain't a lot a fella can do." Looking back at the pup's entertainment stop, Calex chuckles. "I really want to pocket some money out of this, it's such a waste for animals to handle it. So I'll go in and do a bit of gamblin."

The demon harboring farmsboy begins walking toward the windmill. "I'd say after I pocket atleast a little I'll set the place on fire." Shining a grin at Valeska, he looks down at his symbiote. So what do ya say Mazarath? Sounds like a plan?"

"Fool! Of course I shall agree to some greed and wrath!"

Stopping for a second, he directs a question towards Valeska. "So are ya gonna gamble with me, or hop in when the chaos starts?"
Title: Re: Hearts of the Scorned

Valeska flashed him a grin as she approached, finger's tip toeing up his chest.
"You... must go this alone. If you want to gamble, that is. I... on the other hand.. have a bit... too distinct of a face," she went on, cringing a smile at him. The scar and milky eye and wild blonde hair...
She knew the wolves could spot her a million miles away.

"Just go on and have fun... I'll keep my watch from the shadows."
