Physical Description

"Human form" by K3@Latealth

Dragon Form by xezeno

Personality

Lusca is a peculiar sort, who looks at the world through a lens of a color that humans can't grasp with their puny, limited ability to observe certain colors. She speaks, acts, and behaves in a roughly human manner—  sometimes a bit too overly dramatic in her movements or decisions, other times missing a social cue here or there. She is, in general, a very welcoming and 'open' creature who believes in physical contact as one of the best ways to greet or interact with others, but she's neither boisterous or overly aggressive—  Not on purpose at least.

Being raised by parents with a solid lick of sense, Lusca is relatively booksmart, not so much street-smart, but given her origins, one can only expect her to be about as 'booksmart' as is needed to not accidentally get herself killed, and in turn there's probably only so much that street smarts would sink into her head in the first place-- so it was foregone. She responds well to people who are straightforward in their dealings with her, and rather poorly to liars, or people who otherwise 'hold back' when interacting with her. She values knowledge, monetary gains and earthly pleasures, such as good food or fair weather. Her smile, while rather disconcerting due to her sharp teeth, is all the same very much innocent and child-like, befitting of her age.

Lyria's youth, unfortunately, means that a lot of what she does, she does instinctively—  and given that she has no idea of what she actually is (which, in fairness, her parents don't either), this can occasionally lead her to accidentally say or do things that are completely out of her 'typical' character—  She loves to hoard valuables, for example, and has a strange fixation with overcoming challenges, or proving her worth—  as if she were being judged by someone or something unseen. She also occasionally hunts livestock, because livestock has absolutely no reason to be as huntable and defenseless as it is—  but that's neither here nor there.

Magic/Abilities

This thing is weird. Period. Lusca possess the innate ability of transfiguration, capable of shifting between her true draconic form and a more human-inspired one-—  Though with her youth, she can only barely manage a 'human-inspired' form; As a result, rather than looking indecipherable from humankind, Lusca's current level of transfiguration still leaves... 'much' about her in draconic form. Lusca's body constantly perspires water— freshwater specifically, as her magical body transforms the air it comes into contact with into liquid, a sort of instinctive elemental magic that keeps her scales moist and generally causes problems for fans of the indoors. Were she to put her mind to it, her natural connection to the water element could be used to create floods, shift tides, and manipulate water into all sorts of unique and dangerous forms—  however, given her centimeter-length attention span of anything she's not inherently interested in, just about all of that takes too much concentration on her part to do. She's also freakishly strong—  her draconic heritage showing in both her true and 'human' forms, and her oceanic nature allows her great dexterity and speed underwater—  to say nothing of her ability to breathe on land or at sea. Most importantly, however, Lusca... has a perfect palate... for some reason.

Relationships

History
Dragons—  Proud symbols of Adela, for which the lands are known for. As powerful and proud as they are varied, there are many subspecies of dragons that dwell in the great mountain ranges and scour the skies of the plainlands. There are also, however, many such terrible creatures lurking below the depths of the bordering sea. These creatures of the deep are the sea dragons—  every bit as unique and varied to their land-and-sky-dwelling cousins. Lusca is one of those terrible creatures—  Born only a few years ago from a clutch of sea dragon eggs that one brave—  or perhaps mad—  Fell man dove to the very depths of the Le'Raana's surrounding coasts to happen upon. She was still an egg when that man took her to the surface, entirely out of her element, and with a great and mighty heave, chucked her egg at some random Yoreiqi's hut before departing the coastlands, claiming to have "Set the plot apace, as the all-gods desired".

Poor Kailann and Nora—  the two Yoreiqi women who's home the egg was tossed at. What were they to do with a child-sized, translucent (and unnerveningly, pulsing) egg, which shifted and stirred at their doorstep before giving way to a literal dragon hatchling? Neither knew quite what to do, and even debated killing it for the safety of their people—  it was only when Nora looked into the creature's eyes truly for the first time that she was able to steel her resolve and make the most grave and controversial decision a Yoreiqi could possibly make, no matter how poorly Kailann looked at her from that day forth. And so, with spear in hand, and grim resolve in her eyes, Nora pierced through the remainder of the the shell, helping the little hatchling out of it's egg and embraced it warmly. "We will raise this little one," She proclaimed, to Kailann's great dismay— given that the two were barely afforded any alone time as things were. And so it came to be that Kailann and Nora would raise the dragon whelp—  which they affectionately named "Luscatella", as their own little pet... thing.

Or, that was the plan at least. Lusca was far, far more than either could've bargained for, and grew very much unlike any 'pet' (or even person) could've. Within a year, the young dragon had learned to emulate its caretakers in ways that no one could've imagined, showing a talent for the latent magic of transfiguration by taking on a form somewhat reminiscent of Kailann... somewhat. At least, it was pretty clear that Lusca was... feminine? In another year, to Nora's surprise and Kailann's chagrin, Lusca even showed a talent for both the common and Yoreiqi tongues; all but cementing the fact that the creature was very much capable of higher thinking. A year more, and Lusca had become the talk of the proverbial town; In part because of her looks, and in part because as she grew, so too did her instincts. Nora and Kailann had both somewhat come up with a plan for this, and taught the girl to hunt at land, air and sea—  Something she took to very, very often both out of boredom and because a growing (dragon) girl had to eat (often)! And eat she did. Lusca hunted enough to feed islands, and fed ravenously—  but made sure there was enough to go around. Her parents taught her manners, after all.

They also taught her the basics of cooking, but it wasn't until Lusca was 4 years old that she learned what spice and flame could truly do. A trader from Essyrn had come, peddling both wares and exotic foods from the Eastern mainland. Curious, Lusca persuaded Kailann to buy her some prepared meats, which she promptly consumed... and then went into a tastebud-driven rampage of excitement. Such flavors! Such wonders! She had to have more! Alas, the trader had very little else to offer, but Lusca, fueled by greed, could not be sated with such an answer. She demanded, almost to the point of harm, where he'd found such wondrous morsels—  which he responded to in kind, telling the dragon of the mainland, and the many different peoples and their food cultures. And thus did Lusca, blinded by desire, leave Yoreiq immediately— ravenous in her need to have more cooked food, to be able to make and have it all to herself. She took to the skies, then faster through the seas, and made way for Le'Raana proper, to sate her newfound hunger.

OR ELSE.
