Physical Description
Aishling has incredibly fair skin and large, blue gray eyes. Her features are small and delicate, framed by wavy, deep brown hair that looks almost black in certain lights and falls to the backs of her knees. Though rather small, she's built on the curvier side with a decent amount of lean muscle.

Personality
Playful and adventurous by nature, Ash has an open and giving personality, if occasionally a little abrasive, and is always quick with a joke. She doesn't always think things through, but she usually means well and she had a good heart. Though not educated in a traditional sense, she's quite clever, occasionally bordering on mischievous.

Magic/Abilities
Though she can't breathe underwater, Ash can go much longer and to much further depths than a regular human, as well as having the ability to communicate with most sea creatures.

She also has a hypnotic or enchanting quality to her voice, a trait known as "selkie song" that can beguile mortal listeners and even other fae.

Relationships
Brenden Farris, her human father, and Lyanna, an unknown selkie mother.

History
When he was younger, Brenden worked as a fisherman with his own small boat. One day, he came across a woman sleeping on a rocky outcropping just off the coast, using a damp coat as a blanket. Assuming she'd been abandoned and that she'd die if left on her own, he offered to row her back to shore.

The selkie went with him- though of course he didn't realize what she was, he assumed her kind were just an old story- and for a few years they were happy. They even had a child together.

But nothing can keep a selkie from the sea, not forever. When Aishling was three, her mother donned her coat and left, and Brenden finally realized that he'd fallen in love with a fae creature. Fearing that his daughter would follow her selkie blood to the sea, he abandoned his life as a fisherman and moved further into town to work as a carpenter, forbidding Ash from even going to the beach on her own.
