Physical Description:
His dark skin and handsome face aren't that unique among his people, but there are two features that set him apart from others. The most striking one that people usually take in first are his crutches. Having been gravely injured a few months ago, in what some people suspect to be an assassination attempt on the life of either him or his father, Faysal was crippled and lost most of his mobility. He can (slowly) move around with the help of his crutches, and most of the time, family servants carry him in a litter.

Like most wealthy Essyrni, he keeps his dark hair long in order to show off his status. Most of the time, he keeps it free, but sometimes he wears different ornaments or clasps in order to display allegiance. His clothes are yet another symbol of status - the rare fabric, high-quality thread and expensive embroidery are all testament to his family's wealth and power.

Personality: A firstborn son of a Merchant Prince, Faysal has been raised to one day take over his father's position, and it reflects in his upbringing. He is a cautious thinker, one that always considers his situation and tries to find a best way to solve the current predicament. While he enjoys scholarship and improvement as much as every other Essyrni, he is at his best when surrounded by other people. Regardless of whoever he's speaking to, Faysal is always unfailingly polite and rarely loses his composure. As adept as he is at navigating the cutthroat intrigues of the Merchant Princes, he does his best to keep his natural inclination towards scheming in check, and he does not enjoy acting against people who do not deserve it.

His kind nature is something he hides to the best of his ability, lest others use it against him. Another of Faysal's weaknesses is his dedication to his family. He cares deeply about his brothers, and frequently acts to hide his father's more ignoble acts in order to preserve the family honour and reputation.

Despite what one might suspect, Faysal does not have deep-seated insecurities stemming from his relationship with his father, nor is gaining his approval and love, his motivation in the slightest. While it's true that satisfying Zaahir is something he rarely achieved, and  their relations are far from one might expect from a father and a son, Faysal doesn't let that get in the way of truly important things.

Magic/Abilities:
- As the heir to a Merchant Prince, Faysal received an extensive education in trade, economy and politics.
- He used to practice swordplay, but his injury put an end to it.It is unknown whether he possesses any magical abilities.

Relationships:
- His father Zaahir, a powerful Merchant Prince and core figure in Faysal's life.
- His mother Rayhana, Zaahir's first wife
- His younger brother Amani, a runaway
- His youngest brother Mirza, quite a sweet kid
- Mirza's mother Safiyyah, Zaahir's second wife
- He also is familiar with Zaahir's other wives.
- Wife position currently empty, as the previous occupant was recently poisoned.

History:
Faysal was born into a coveted position of a Merchant Prince's eldest son. He was surrounded by luxury and privilege few people can ever see in his lifetime, and always provided for all his needs. His father was a stern, exacting man who expected a lot from everyone, and his son and heir most of all. He would accept nothing short of absolute perfection, and he's made it clear.

Faysal's childhood was spent with the best of tutors and instructors. He proved to be a diligent and capable pupil, one any teacher would be proud of, and was expected to grow into an heir his father demanded. His brother Amani was born soon, to one of Zaahir's another wives. Contrary to Faysal, Amani was a rascal no one could contain or predict. Despite such differences, Faysal did his best to get along and look after his brother.

Unlike Faysal, who accepted his position and learned how to work within it, Amani hated the responsibilities thrust upon him and the stifling gilded cage he was put into. When Zaahir began to arrange a match for him, it was the last straw for the rebellious youth. Amani ran away, leaving nothing behind. This incident enraged the proud Merchant Prince, who put a high reward for whoever drags his unruly son back home - or delivers his head.

A few months after Amani's escape, Zaahir's third son Mirza was born. The Merchant Prince declared that it would be enough for him - he didn't need any more disobedient offspring. Faysal's position as the heir was all but assured, to the great pride of Rayhana, and displeasure of all other Zaahir's wives.

Safiyyah found herself in a unique position that she intended to take full advantage of. Her child Mirza was the only one who could remotely threaten Faysal's position. She quickly proved to be more than enough of a match for him, her cunning and ruthlessness becoming a threat just as great as the machinations of other Merchants Princes.

Character Limitations: Finally I'm getting some use out of this section. Feel free to move him around and some minor reactions (i.e. if your character punches him, go ahead and describe him falling to the floor). I would ask to avoid using healing powers on him since he has a reason not to seek magical help (and it makes others underestimate him :>). I have a pretty set image of who he is in my mind, so I'd rather not have him turned into a vampire/werewolf/other creature, but if you're very certain that it would fit him, I will at least hear you out. Romance-wise, it's going to be hard since he's too focused on duty to his family to ever consider it, but I won't stop you from trying.
