Physical Description
Though of an almost diminutive height-- at least by Essyrni standards-- and rather slender, Thara nonetheless makes quite an impression just on sight. For one thing there are her tattoos, stark white against her dark skin, which tend to be the first things people notice. Quickly though her eyes come to forefront of an observant's attention: entirely white and almost luminescent, they demand and hold one's attention. Almost hypnotic, in fact...

Despite her profession and current status as a slave, Nathara is often found in rather lovely garments, often with floral motifs, hearkening back to the lush jungle where she grew up. Beneath her clothes though is an even stronger reminder of her heritage. A band of black and deep green and blue scales circles her waist and trails down her outer thighs, a soft line of scales tracing up her spine to taper off at about the middle of her back as well.

Personality
Though a little solitary by nature, Nathara is still a friendly and open person. She has worked hard since her capture to quell this aspect of her personality, trying to keep her friendship limited to her snake companions alone, but she is not always successful. And of course, for a gladiator, any friends made are quickly lost.

Still, when backed into a corner she can be vicious, both in word and in deed.

Magic/Abilities
Thara doesn't actually seem to have any magical gift, aside from a beastspeaking ability with serpents.

Her physical skills, however, are positively inhuman. She moves almost faster than the eye can track, when necessary, and her body bends and twists into forms that just don't seem natural. While she doesn't have superhuman strength, necessarily, if she can get a grip on someone she holds on, and doesn't let go until she's choked the life from their body.

As far as weapons go, she can use a hunting bow and dagger with a decent amount of skill, though nowadays she's rarely allowed to get her hands on either.

Relationships
Shakah, a massive, albino king cobra she met when she was first brought to Essyrn, and who has been a close companion since.

Leila, her mother, and Erii Chu'si, her father. Last she saw them both, they were still in the jungle. She hopes they remain.

History
Born in the Kishahn to a human mother and snakefolk father, Nathara had a wonderfully happy childhood. Her mother had once lived with a small group of runaway Essyrni slaves who made it to the edge of the Kishahn jungle and managed to create a small settlement there. One day, while out hunting for food for the village, she came across one of the many strange, dangerous creatures of the jungle.

Leila had never seen a snakefolk before, and Erii took her completely by surprise. Too startled to even be properly scared, she somehow struck up a conversation with him-- starting along the lines of "What the hell are you?"

Erii, a prince among his people, albeit a solitary one, was utterly charmed by this strange human woman who seemed so curious. Their encounter grew to friendship, and, as it is wont to do, friendship turned to love. Leila left her village behind to live in the jungle with her new mate, though she was sure to visit often-- later bringing her daughter along to meet her "extended family".

For the most part, Thara grew up in the jungle, climbing and hunting and exploring to her heart's content. Her mother taught her to use a bow and hunting knife with great skill, and her father taught her to identify which plants were harmful and which could heal.

It was when she was seventeen, on a trip with her mother to the small ex-slave village, the slavers attacked. Unprepared for the assault, many villagers were kidnapped or killed. In the confusion, Nathara and her mother were separated, and she was captured.

Brought to Essyrn, kicking and screaming the whole way, she was quickly sold to the coliseum: an exotic opponent for any worthy gladiator.
