The night had passed yet again and the sun shone brightly upon Alyssa's sleeping face and form. she moaned lightly, feeling the sun's rays and allowed her eyes to flutter open, reveling two brown eyes to see the room around her.

She got up and quickly got dressed in her lavender colored, cotton dress. She grabbed a piece of bread off of the wooden table of her small home and ate it slowly. when she had finished she walked out of the main door and was greeted by her 16hand, black, arabian stallion. smiling softly she reached up and scratched the horse behind his ears, earning a loving lick across her face. she smiled and put on his bridal and jumped on his back, slowly heading to the main forum to buy some more food or what ever else she had needed.

What a wonderful day it was! The sun was shining, the birds were chirping and fluttering around happily, and people were going about their business in a cheerful manner, at least to Dargas' eyes. He had just gotten off a job and was feeling happy about it. Dargas might not have a very important role at the build sites but his flute playing always made the actual builders happier which made them work harder and better.

At the moment, though, Dargas was wandering around the city playing his flute, his usual good mood transferring into the song he was playing. Not only was it a naturally cheerful tune but it was one of his favorites so it sounded even better. It even seemed to cheer the people up around him but Dargas didn't notice. He was so caught up in the music he was dancing around a little. It was such a beautiful tune to him. The melody a fast-paced rapid-fire section while the buildup to the melody had a slow, drawn out, almost waltz like structure that rapidly changed as the melody came around. It reminded him of the desert itself. Calm, soothing, and peaceful one minute and raging the next.

Soon though, the climax of the song was upon him and the final note rang out for a few seconds followed by silence. A lot of the people within hearing distance stopped what they were doing to see how the song would proceed. After about ten seconds of silence, the flutist switched to another song, still upbeat of course, and danced on his merry way.

Alyssa smiled as she urged her horse on faster into a canter. the horses pillars carried her quickly as she laughed slightly. she soon heard some sort of music and pulled lightly on the reins. where there was music, there would be people.

Nell didn't like the idea of slowing down into a trot and suddenly urged foward at a gallop, towards the sorce of the music. Alyssa yanked back on the reins hard. making her horse rear up, throwing his hoves in the air. when he came back down he continued to canter. she soon saw a croud of people and grabbed her horses mane and yanked it hard. he finally stopped a few inched infront of a man who was playing a flute. she looked at him and quickly dismounted.

"sorry. he wouldn't stop for some reason." she said softly and swatted at her horses nose. her horse took a step back and put his dome down slowly. she sighed and with a worried expression looked back at the male.

Dargas was still caught up in his music, his fingers flying across his flute and he semi-danced around, so he didn't even notice the horse coming straight on him until its hooves were a good foot above his head. His music abruptly and his flute was away from his mouth in an instant since he didn't want to hurt everybody's ears with a very sharp note. Instead, he almost jumped out of his skin.

After calming down, a smile appeared on Dargas' face. "Don't worry. Nothing bad happened so it's all ok." He looked at the horse. "Maybe all he needs is some calming music." Suiting his words, Dargas put his flute up to his lips and started playing. It was a low, slow song. The song was made up of a lot of low, long, connected notes. As the music bounced off the hardened mudstone of the surrounding buildings, it gave an impression of slowly drifting along, encased in the music.

When he was done, Dargas took his flute from his lips and smiled at the horse. "How's that?" He transferred his smile to the woman standing in front of him. "I'm Dargas. Pleased to meet you." He held out his hand for her to shake. "What's your name?" Dargas' curiosity was already pricked. Who was she? Why was she here? Of course, these questions always ran through his head when a new person was found.

her horse seemed to calm down when the man played the slower music upon his flute. she smiled softly as her horse dropped his dome and let out a soft nicker.

holding the reins in her left hand, she placed her right in his hand and shoke it. "Pleased to meet you, Dragas. My name is Alyssa." she gently pulled her hand away and brushed a stray strand of her black hair behind her ear.

Nell had now raised his dome and snorted at the male before she reached out his dome and sniffed the male. he gave a gentle nuzzle to his sholder then looked back at his owner.

"Well I shall be going. Nell doesn't like standing around." she said with a laugh and went to mount the horse as it stood still waiting to run again.
