Physical Description

Green eyes peer out from behind a dark bone mask that covers the upper half of the priestess' face. Smooth, unblemished, pale skin contrasts against the mask and accentuates the almost glowing eyes that reside beneath it.

Shamira has a graceful frame with slight curves that hint at the femininity. She dresses in all black, keeping as much skin hidden as possible at all times. Her clothing consists of long pants and a long-sleeved collared tunic beneath her floor-length priestess robes that taper in at the waist before flowing back out in an inverted V-shaped slit down the middle. The priestess is also partial to wearing a hooded cloak over the ensemble except on formal occasions.

Personality

As a rather quiet and respectful young woman, many followers who did not know Shamira specifically were surprised when she grew up to become a priestess of the cult. Yet while seemingly harmless on the surface, the priestess can be exceptionally cold and calculating, even vindictive at times but never openly.

She takes her role as a priestess very seriously, believing that her duties are second only to her beliefs in the Tenants. Shamira works to keep the other followers in line and observe that the Tenants are being upheld properly. But, otherwise she keeps to herself and the shadows, truly embodying the statue that she is a shadow of the Darkness.

Magic/Abilities

~Upholder of the Tenants of Blood of Ash
~Capable fighter, partial to the quarterstaff

Relationships

~As a member of Blood of Ash her brethren and sisters are her family.
~Kharn Segal (http://www.spiritsoftheearth.net/smf/index.php?topic=14465.new#new): Shamira hates Kharn, believing that he is too much of a fanatic focused on what power his god can provide for him instead of on how he can best serve his god. He has also been after her as she resists his sexual advances on her. It is a constant and uncomfortable battle between them as they dance around the issue.
~Lord Prophet Raven (http://www.spiritsoftheearth.net/smf/index.php?topic=14436.0): Shamira greatly respects the son of the Lord Incarnation and as such wishes to serve him to the best of her ability without being noticed. She does not like having attention brought to her and therefore tends to do tasks around him quickly and quietly. If she can avoid being near him altogether she tries to. This is not easy though consider one of her duties is to serve him directly.

History

Shamira was born and raised within the cult. Both of her parents were extremely devout practitioners and she has known nothing but the life of the cult. She too is a strong believer and therefore has worked very hard to achieve her place of honor as a priestess of the cult.

Between the ages 6 and 7 Shamira's life greatly changed. It was around that time the Incarnation Lord Azrael chose to fall into a great slumber, leaving the Prophet Lord Raven in charge in his stead. Lord Ashlar also left the cult soon after, seeking solitude to raise a liter he was carrying at the time. As a child, Shamira can remember certain things about both men that over the years has served to kindle her beliefs in the cult. While new initiates come every year she is one of those believers that has seen the Incarnation with her own eyes.

Two other very personal events that occurred around that age were the separate deaths of Shamira's mother and father. Her father was murdered by bandits one morning as he left the temple after prayers. While the men were dealt with for their wrong-doings, the child would never forget the sight of her father's blood spilled on the temple steps. It was the last time she ever stepped foot outside the temple.

Her mother offered herself up as a willing sacrifice soon after but not before leaving her only daughter with a final order, to continue uphold the laws of the Blood of Ash and to strive to gain the favor of their god and his sons. Shamira watched her mother die for the cult, standing before the alter long after the others left to retrieve the blackened bone mask that had once belonged to her mother, a mask she would later don as an adult.
