Everything was relatively normal in Arca. The people were happy, the sun was shining, the air was crisp and clean. All things considered, it was a gorgeous day, and nothing was out of the ordinary. Well, nothing except the strange blob of silvery liquid metal hovering a few feet above the ground. As a sphere, it would've been about three feet in diameter. It was simply floating, an oblong mass seemingly curious about what there was around it, as it seemed to be looking back and forth. It would not be nearly as unusual a sight here as in less magic-heavy countries, but still.

Wraith had randomly decided to come to Arca, seeing the city from high in the sky. If it was lucky, it might meet someone it could bond with here. Though, cities made it nervous for some reason. It could be the fact that people in general had two responses to it: Fear of the unknown, or curiosity on how Aeriads could even exist. The latter response had, some few times, been coupled with the person actually ACTING on that response and attempting to capture it.

Wraith rippled a bit, the Aeriad version of a shudder, and flew on to see what it could see.

Like most cities, Arca had a booming bazaar. Smalltime merchants from all over the city came to hawk their wares at the city center, yielding as festive an atmosphere as you could expect. At every turn there were bright colours and screaming children, harried women and crowded food stalls where vendors sold skewers of heavily spiced fire-roasted meat and hens' eggs pickled in beet juice and vinegar. The smells of food and wicker and sweaty bodies were strong.

Slightly apart from all of this everyday chaos sat Nettle Scryer on the stone step of a great building which opened up onto the market. People passed her on occasion, paying the common girl no mind. Her long, straw-coloured hair was braided over one shoulder, the sunlight above bringing out gleaming highlights in it and likely deepening the freckles on her small face. She carried no basket, but in her lap was a stained bit of burlap on which sat a tiny glazed currant bun, which she picked at absently as she watched the people go by.

Wraith drifted lazily along, taking in all that he could see through his metal. So many colors and people... It was the great draw of a city to him, as it made it far more likely he could possibly find someone to get along with. They were so sadly few, though Serendipity had been offered to him as a place where he wouldn't stand out as much.

Like a silver stream, Wraith moved on, gliding gracefully through crowds like (duh) liquid. Suddenly, something struck him about someone sitting apart from the crowds, seemingly watching people much like he was. He deliberately hovered nearby, barely moving, while focusing his attention on the girl sitting nearby. There was some strange feeling drawing him to look at her rather than anyone else, perhaps the fact that she alone was still.
