Gimme yer recipes. |:
So I dunno about everyone else, but I quite like to cook, even if I'm a total novice at it. And I'm always looking for delicious things to try! So, what're your favorite recipes? 8D GIVE THEM TO ME. And I'll share my faves!
I'm vegan, but I can pretty much veganize anything. And all my recipes will be vegan, but feel free to give 'em your own non-vegan twists. (Though they're delish as is!)
Some current faves of mine:
- DELICIOUS CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES! (http://www.dailyrebecca.com/2013/03/the-best-vegan-chocolate-chip-cookies/)
- Quinoa Taco Meat (http://minimalistbaker.com/quinoa-taco-meat/) (I use this in burritos and tacos! It's especially tasty mixed with some black beans.
- Sticky Sesame Cauliflower (http://chocolatecoveredkatie.com/2017/01/09/sticky-sesame-cauliflower/). Pour this sucker over rice and you HAVE IT MADE. Seriously, so easy and the sauce is subliiiime.
- Roasted Broccoli Quinoa Salad with Honey Mustard Dressing (https://www.fooduzzi.com/2016/02/roasted-broccoli-quinoa-salad-with-honey-mustard-dressing/). Holyshitit'sgood.
- Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Muffins (http://minimalistbaker.com/pumpkin-chocolate-chip-muffins/). My go-to whenever I want muffins, because dammit I want it to never stop being fall, don't judge me.
- Chili with homemade sour cream (http://ohsheglows.com/2014/02/05/my-favourite-vegan-chili-with-homemade-sour-cream/). Best chili ever.
- Sloppy Joes (http://hellyeahitsvegan.com/vegan-sloppy-joes/). My go-to whenever I want junk food. I sub the TVP (textured vegetable protein) for the same amount of green lentils, boiled for about 20 - 30 minutes until they're soft. Funny story, I HATED sloppy joes as a kid when I ate meat. But I love these things and make them way more than I should. Pretty sure the same spices would work in meat if that's what you prefer!
- Coconut curry soup (http://www.thugkitchen.com/coconut_curry_soup). I loooove curry, and this touched my taste buds in all the right places.
- Black Bean Brownies (http://chocolatecoveredkatie.com/2012/09/06/no-flour-black-bean-brownies/). Sounds really weird! I was very "but beans |:" at first, too. BUT TRUST RHI. You can't taste the beans at all. They just taste like really fudgey brownies of deliciousness.
And my own personal favorite smoothies:
Smoothie #1
Makes about two servings1 medium or large banana
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 cups vanilla almond milk
2 medjool dates
1 cup frozen strawberries
I cup frozen peaches
1 cup frozen pineapple
Smoothie #2 (THE BREAKFAST OF CHAMPIONS, DRINK YO OATMEAL)
1 medium or large banana
1 cup vanilla almond milk
1/2 cup rolled oats, uncooked
2 tbsp ground flax
2 medjool dates
1 tbsp peanut butter
1 handful frozen strawberries
1 handful frozen peaches
Sprinkle some cinnamon in it
BLEND THAT SUCKER UP. ENJOY.
And if you wanna extra fancy with either of them, toss a handful of spinach in there to get your greens. It doesn't change the taste or texture at all. 8D
I cook as a hobby when I can afford it, most of my meals are heavy in meat and protein, hardy type things. Made this out of random bullshit I had in my kitchen when I didn't want the usual "I'm making money last until payday" meals. It was actually far more filling and tasty than it had any right to be, and have made it many many times since.
