Physical Description
She's big. Like, biiiig. Standing nearly seven feet tall, Syn is a walking tower of muscle. She has short, brown hair with red highlights, about neck-length, and particularly bristly... Almost like a mane moreso than a head of hair. This comes from countless years of just taking a knife to it whenever it gets too long, and many long, arduous hours of work in her trade. Her body is littered with little scabs and scratches, with a prominent one on her right cheek, and a large pair of vertical scars on her back— as if she once had wings, and they were ripped off.
Her skin is chocolate-colored, with a bit of its luster lost to wear and tear— but in spite of that, she still had a fairly full face, fiery-red eyes, and a healthy bit of color to her cheeks. Of note, a very obvious pair of long, jagged horns protrude from her forehead, blood red in color, and stretch backward toward the top of her head.
Sun typically doesn't wear much, regardless of the environment— her thick skin literally keeps her temperate. At most, she wears a sleeveless, cloth, button-up halter-top which typically fights for its life to contain her bandage-bound chest and rippling muscles. Her arms are typically bandaged for the most part, both to hide her scratches, as well as a pair of leather leg armor. She typically doesn't wear shoes— her feet and ankles are bandaged for similar reasons to her arms.
Personality
She looks a bit like a brute— she acts a bit like a brute. Expect crude jokes, insults about your delicates, and a slap or two on the shoulder strong enough to dislocate said shoulder. It's mostly a facade she puts up for her own self-defense— after all, the best defense is being offensive, and pushing everyone around her away. Why is she like this? Couple reasons. First? Family. Being related to demons in any way isn't exactly looked kindly upon in many parts of LeRaana, and so she's more than ready to play the part for anyone who gets a little too high-and-mighty at her. The second reason? Family. Being related to demons as she is, she has certain... inborn instincts. Sometimes, she gets a little hotheaded— and hotheadedness can lead to hotbloodedness on her part. And a hotblooded demon-halfling can be a scary, dangerous thing— Violent, cruel, and very hard to reason with.
Beneath that facade, however, she's just a 22-year-old girl who's still very much trying to find herself. She doesn't always WANT to be viewed as the 'Blood-Red Morpho'; Sometimes she wants to be just have friends that aren't battle-worn companions of necessity, or buy (or even just window shop for) things that don't enhance her battle prowess, or just, like, be held and told she's attractive as a person. Alas, the facade stays up— at least until she meets people worth bringing it down for.
Magic/Abilities
Syn is a brutal hand-to-hand combatant. Years of surviving on her own, either against men, monsters or wildlife have taught her how to carry her weight, and shatter her opponents against their own weight. She has very, very thick skin— Blades can knick and bruise her, but it takes a truly skilled swordhand to draw blood from her. This is likely partly due to her demonic heritage, and partly due to her harsh upbringing. She possesses demonic magic by nature— Capable of disrupting and corrupting mortal elements on contact, unless she's within the range of influence of a an adhara or mordecai... but honestly, you're a brave (or stupid) somebody to get close enough to her for that to happen.
Syn's demonic heritage, at full strength, manifests in a grotesque, yet beautiful manner— rather fitting for her. From her back, she sprouts a large set of black and red butterfly wings, which allow her flight, as well as enhancing her already superhuman strength and endurance. She calls this her 'Morphos', but she doesn't know why. Word just came to her in a dream at some point. Disabling the 'power' is just about as grotesque as it is to enable it— She has to remove her wings in order to return to normal. It's... not a pretty thing to look at.
Relationships
History
Syn was born... somewhere. It's not clear— mostly because she can't remember. She knows she had a Adelan human father and a... not-human mother, that's for certain. She also knows that 4 years after she was born, whether willingly or not, her father took her on a walk into the Draconi forests, just short of the thunderblacks surrounding them... and then left her there. She was alone, abandoned and afraid— And surrounded by the mysterious and monstrous fauna of the wilderness, she was forced to fend for herself for several years, alone. Occasionally she was hurt, badly— likely enough to kill her, and she'd lose consciousness... only to wake up later on, alive yet weakened.
She tried to escape several times. The Draconi Forest was large, but heading in one direction was sure to lead to an exit eventually. She believed that for the first two years she spent there... Before eventually realizing that somehow, some way, she was trapped. Be it by magic or misdirection, she couldn't leave the forest, and was relentlessly hunted by it's denizens— and even supernatural creatures from beyond it— until exhaustion, or fatal wounds took her... and then it would start over again, a little time later.
You could imagine that after a while, she was driven to madness; Her despair and anger turned against the forest and it's kin. That was likely the firs time she lost herself to her demonic heritage— and it was the first 'Morphos' transformation she'd ever undergone. By the time she regained her senses, she'd quite literally torn her way out of the Draconi forest, leaving behind a whirlwind's wrath of destruction in her wake. At least, that's all she remembers from that time in her life.
The world has been a dull series of grays and shadows for her sense. Syn very quickly had to learn how to re-integrate into society and just... exist, like a normal person. She had to deal with learning to interact with people— and understand that very few of them had her best interests in mind. She learned to kick the everliving shit out of those people— without losing control of her demonic nature. She had to find a stable source of income— which she managed to by taking a job as a hunter, and then another as a traveling bodyguard for hire— both roles allowing her to vent her built-up frustrations when needed.
Alas, she never learned the truth of her birth, nor why her father left her, or the secret of the time she spent in those woods. But at this point, she'd really just trying to survive, the best way she knows how— with her two fists.
