Physical Description

Tighearnán is a tall, deeply tanned man with a broad chest and a deceptively muscular form. He seems to have put on some portly weight recently after a growth spurt and is therefore quite round in the stomach area with extra thick thighs and biceps. This apparent second puberty has also brought about a great deal of hair growth all over, giving him an almost feral beastman in nobleman livery appearance. His hair is dark, thick, and almost wiry in its curly coarse state. He keeps it relatively short so that it reaches just past his ears. Once it starts touching his neck he has to cut it, hating the feeling of it itching against his skin.

His features elongated with a sharp jaw, scruffy band of a beard that he never lets fully grow out, elongated sharp lower incisors, and a broad, slightly upturned nose. He has deep blue nearly black eyes that give him an intense inhuman stare.

Young lord Eoforwine is very rarely ever seen outside of his full university uniform, mage robes included regardless of the weather. He is not fond of showing his skin and does not roll up his sleeves or unbutton the high collar of his shirts. At most you might catch him with his robes open while lounging in his rooms.

He wears very little in the way of jewelry but he does have a ring with his family crest he wears on his pinky, a few random rings he interchanges as suits his fancy, as well as a cord around his neck that he keeps tucked under his shirt that holds a pair of matching plain bands.

While he does have the usual random scars that come with the territory of being both a growing boy and a mage, he also has a truly horrific one that he keeps hidden as best as he can. Tighearnán's left side and thigh are horribly disfigured from being gored by a boar's tusks. While on a good day he can do his best to hide the slight limp he has, most days are incredibly painful for him and he will do anything possible to hide it. This only further adds to his reputation as some form of deity or god as he doesn't stand to greet others or make people come to him instead of going to them.

Personality

  • Golden Child: Perfect student, perfect son, everyone's favorite perfect little lord. He is a good man who works hard to excel in all that he does. He is every bit the teacher's pet, the class favorite, the voted most likely to succeed because of not only his intelligence and talent but also his genuine desire to achieve. He does not begrudge others who struggle so long as they likewise are willing to put in the effort. In that case he is willing to help tutor other students, for a small price of course.
  • Control: And with all that perfection comes a deep need to be in control. Everything about him is calculated and done just so. Rarely is there wild impulsive action. He has high expectations of himself but also of others. He expects people to be truthful to themselves and to try their hardest. He does not suffer fools and when placed in a position of authority expects to be obeyed completely. Resistance only results in a tighter collar until the resistor bends to his will.
  • Burdened with Glorious Purpose: As the son of an old and respected noble house, the next in line to the position of High Lord, and a prodigy child from a very young age, he bears a most heavy burden of weighted expectation on his shoulders. This has only become heavier with his father's passing and his ill mother and three younger sisters now left in his care to manage while also remaining a student. The family finances are not well and so he uses his cunning and strategy to achieve whatever the means and no matter the cost. He will fulfill his role in life and he will make his dreams a reality, so help him goddess, for why else was he born if not to strive?
  • Ticking Timebomb: All that being said however, of late there has been a volatile temper brewing just beneath the surface. Perhaps it was always there or perhaps it is something new born of grief and reality, but the wool is no longer over his eyes. Provoked far enough especially physically and he will fight back, viciously and without handicaps. Verbal barbs rarely take hold but a physical altercation will have him rising quickly to the occasion. Worse still his precious control is harder to control and he will struggle to stop once he sees red until his adversary is laid broken and no longer a challenge.
  • Wild: And just to further contradict his absolutely outwardly poised, proper, and in control reputation there now is a deep feral wildness within him. Something that calls him to give into baser needs, to bend rules further than he ever dared before, to take what he wants without asking, to go and do as he pleases without concern for the consequences. After all, he's the golden child. Who would believe you if you told?

Things

  • Had a sudden and recent growth spurt that included him putting on quite a bit of weight.
  • President of the secret fraternity The Brotherhood of Grand Aberrants
  • Recently has started to hate tomatoes, peppers, onions, and garlic with a deep passion. The smell of them is particularly disgusting to him and if potent enough is enough to send him storming out of a room.
  • Dominant queer and very proud of it.
  • Has a cane for his limp but will do just about everything possible to avoid using it.
  • Wants nothing more than a peaceful life where he is forgotten by the rest of the world and left to rot.

Magic/Abilities

Wereboar: Due to an unfortunate incident, Tighearnán now possesses the ability to turn himself at will into a hybrid wereboar form as well as a massive black wild boar. His hybrid form stands upright but hunch-backed on bowed cloven legs. This form is only slightly taller than his human form but his massively broader and densely furred with huge curling tusks and a boar's head.

Perks of his new ability include hyper sense of smell in all forms, the ability to empathically communicate with all porcine creatures, increased strength, durability, and endurance. He is not easily injured and in fact only becomes more enraged and ferocious as he fights. He is perfectly capable of delivering a killing blow even while on the edge of death himself.

Mage: The limits of his abilities are not yet realized but there has yet to be a magical discipline that Tighearnán has not excelled at. He is proving to be not only quite the prodigy but quite the force to be reckoned with. His current affinity of interest is playing with storm fire and testing various applications of it. His tutors have voiced some concern that his constant absorption of knowledge will eventually lead him towards forbidden magic and practices although there is no proof that he has dabbled in these arts as of yet.

Relationships

Orian Eoforwine: Father. Deceased, killed in a hunting accident. Deeply missed.

Tereza Acualian: Mother. Alive but quite unwell. Prone to fits and hysteria. Younger sister to High Lord of Darken Vei. Her health is a sore spot for Tighearnán and not one he will suffer others to poke at.

Doryx Acualian: Uncle and High Lord of Darken Vei. They've met but are not overly close. Tighearnán is next in line to become High Lord upon his uncle's death although he does not see this ever happening and has made no political moves to suggest he desires the position beyond those that quietly would protect him, his family, and his family assets. He expects his uncle to eventually name a more appropriate heir or have children. Besides, the man isn't THAT old. Surely there will be an ankle biter any day now....right?

Eithne, Gráinne, and Sadb Eoforwine: Triplet younger sisters. Gráinne has been making big talk about attending Alieos herself one day while Eithne is busy swooning after every semi-attractive male that glances her way and Sadb doesn't know what she wants to do with her life.

Niall Swindlehurst: Deceased. Best friend and roommate.

History

Firstborn son of the ancient house of Eoforwine, Tighearnán was destined for great things. His Eoforwine bloodline was one of a long line of fierce, land-owning knights while his mother's Aculian bloodline was that of powerful mages. At a very young age he proved to possess both the qualities of strength, cunning, and magical prowess that would allow him to pursue whatever future he'd choose for himself.

He went on to attend Aleios University from an early age, studying every subject he could get his hands on. Tighearnán quickly made friends with his university roommate Niall Swindlehurst, the son of a pig farmer who had earned a scholarship in order to join the prestigious university. Time progressed and so did their relationship. It was only a natural course of time before the inseparable pair fell deeply in love. The two kept their intimate relationship discreet and strictly behind closed doors but they could think of nothing else than a future where the two of them were together forever.

The dreams of children are not meant for the world of adults though.

Niall was born a wereboar, a secret that he had only shared with Tighearnán. The young lord had proved unafraid of this development, choosing only to love Niall and all his quirks more deeply. During one hot and ardent summer while Niall was spending some time at Tighearnán's family estate during an academic break the two were found out and caught by Lord Eoforwine while he was out hunting. He threatened them both and ordered Niall to be run off the estate and to never return.

Tighearnán wanted none of this and continued to sneak around to see Niall. Meanwhile however, Lord Eoforwine who had seen Niall in his truly monster form had reported the young man to the authorities as a monster that was wreaking terror on his innocent people and livestock. Aware as well of his own son's wrongdoings, he followed Tighearnán one night in hopes of convincing the boy to quit his childish antics for his own safety and wellbeing.

The party line of what occurred is that while hunting wild boar, Lord Eoforwine accidentally and unwittingly shot and mortally wounded young Niall Swindlehurst. The abrupt and piercing sound of his newly acquired Connlaothian military-grade firearm incited the wrath of a nearby wereboar that would then gore him to death. Thankfully a group of previously alerted knights arrived not long after and were able to put an end to the monster. This of course was not before several of their group including young lord Tighearnán Eoforwine were attacked by common wild boars that had been agitated and called to the aid of the dying wereboar.

The truth of the matter is a somewhat less twisted tale although to speak its truth would put Tighearnán's very life at risk. It was no common boar that gored him though and he has paid the consequences of trying to step between lover and father with his new lease on life. It is said he has never been the same since the death of his brother in all but blood. And those that say such things, would be right.
