Like the desert sun, her anger was hot and merciless, unrelenting as she tried to chew and swallow down her pride. But to think, the object that caught her affection most had been purchase by him, it grated on her deeper than she could have imagined, and while she should have just let it go, things were not so simple, for starers, as the bidding went on the for the remainder of Lassius Kar'meht's things, there wasn't a single item of interest to her, and she came back with only a few mere trinkets to show for her time spent on the West Bank.
She preferred the city life, for the West Bankers were far too frilly and egotistical for her own taste, so when she did finally return to the city, it was the evening, and she was happy for it, and drew out a bath and let herself soak for a good many hours. Though she felt more like she was stewing tan anything, Evelyn Gray could not get that damn merchant prince out of her head.
Not only was he smug and arrogant, but he had her vanity now in his possession! What on earth could he possibly use it for? It was evidently carved for a woman, and unless her sources were incorrect (and they rarely were, though there was that one time with Lord Sahlt'uhn...) but never the less, she did not think he was married or was taking a bride. And who would accept such a proposal willingly? She'd rather eat glass!
And that night she tossed and turned fitfully upon the bed, and when she fell asleep, his smug face was there, and what was he doing? Burning the precious vanity!
She awoke with a start, her body sweaty as she raked a hand through her curly, blonde hair. She needed to walk, and threw on her robe and paced about her home until she managed to get at least some semblance of sleep, then it was off to the market, first thing in the morning-
and without much sleep, she hadn't been paying attention, so it was of the utmost, unfortunate of things when she ran into him.
She had been in a half, tongue twisted reply to apologize to the man she had run into, but the second she recognized him, her breath caught in her throat and instantly her lips snapped shut and she did nothing to hide her glare.
"Emyr.." she said, narrowing her gaze and adjusting the single strap of her dress that had fallen from her shoulder when the two 'met'.
