She was in awe at his declaration and with all the innocence and heart of the child she was, Emma reached up on her tippy-toes to place a quick kiss on Ahslar's cheek. "Emma wuvs Miser Ashley Sir. Emma wan'a you to stay foreber and eber."

"Ashlar will never leave his Miss Emma. Not ever." The kitsune assured her softly, his arms still hugging her lightly as he smiled at the kiss on his cheek. Such innocence, perhaps from both of them. After all, half of Ashlar's mind was innocent chaos, was it not?

"Mister Ashley Sir is Emma's bestest fwiend," the little girl reiterated softly in her baby voice. "Even if he's her only fwiend," she added even softer, not realizing it had even been said aloud or could be heard by the demon holding her so lovingly and close. "Emma's sowwy, Mommy is mean to Mister Ashley Sir. Emma won't let it happen again, pwomise."

"Ashlar will protect his Miss Emma. Ashlar will try not to make Miss Emma's mommy so angry again. Maybe if Ashlar is very good Miss Emma's mommy will not hurt poor Ashlar." He gently pet the young girl's hair. The demon had always wanted a daughter, and for now, this naive human child would do quite nicely. Once her parents were out of his way, of course.

Emma clung tighter, burying her face against Ashlar's neck and taking comfort in someone's loving embrace. It felt so nice if only it wasn't for such sad reasons. She would love many more hugs like this in the future. Maybe if she was better behaved then mommy and daddy would give her more hugs and come to see her more. She could that. She was sure of it. She just had to be their darling angel and not make noises or messes. That wasn't so hard. Right?

"We can do it Mister Ashley Sir! We can both be good and mommy will be so happy! I know we can if we try really hard together."

She pulled back then and offered her fist with her tiny pinky extended. "Pinky promise we're on our best behaviour for mommy and daddy?"
