Tesha had the biggest smirk on her face as she followed the sulking Kenneth cheerfully through the crowd back to Atlas. She'd told Kenny that he was useless without a weapon, and boy had he proved her right! Spectacularly so. She almost felt pleased enough with herself to buy him a drink. Almost.

They had been about to leave, but then the Shadow Master himself challenged Ranger Vari to a duel. Of course they wanted to watch. It was the Shadow Master. Kenneth's pouting at what the Shadow Master had to say was hilarious, and him telling her not to laugh only made her want to that much more. Snickering her sapphire eyes flashed at him teasingly. "You weren't holding anything on your own, there, Kent. Unless you mean holding down the floor."

The young man grunted through his wounded pride, crossing his arms over his chest as he sulked in his own little world. "So mean to me," he muttered. "Just because you would've done better doesn't mean it would kill you to be more sympathetic you know. Not like you're the new laughingstock of the Rangers for being the human equivalent of roadkill."

Altas shrugged, never once pealing his eyes away from the makeshift arena, "Don't worry about it Ranger Kent, you passed your Rites didn't you? So you had a botched fight. Big deal, just be glad it was a sparring match and not the real deal. Get better next time."

Up on the Dias, Alucard had not yet responded to the weapon of choice, "Bows it is then." One of the Master Shadow's many bow materialized in this hand, pulling the bowstring taunt, an arrow could soon be seen notched. It had a blunt end, like a rounded smooth stone. Taking aim, focusing on shoulder of Jacob's dominant arm, he called out, "At the ready!"

Jacob entered a ready stance and prepared himself to take on the Master Shadow himself.

"Ready," he announced.

Kenneth tensed at the mention of his rites. It was still a sensitive subject for him given how long he had taken him to achieve and pass them. While his eyes were focused on the upcoming fight, his thoughts were far from it.

A sigh and a shake of his head had him turning to face Atlas. "You need to see a healer before those ribs set like that. We should probably get going. This fight might take a while. No point in your suffering more."

"If I didn't give you a hard time you'd think something was wrong, Kent." Tesha responded cheerily as she watched the arena. She was really looking forward to seeing the Shadow Master actually duel someone, especially since Vari had just humiliated poor Kenny.

Of course then Kenny had to go and suggest that they move Atlas to the healers rather than stay and watch the fight. "But...we wanna see this."
