Physical Description

Yura is a tall, broad-shouldered and barrel-chested woman with a slim waist and long, long legs. Her face is oval-shaped with a thin, narrow nose and full, pouty lips. She also has dark, brown eyes with horizontal pupils framed by long, thick lashes. Her hair which reaches to midback is a very dark auburn and full of thick curls and waves.

Like an elk she has a massive rack of antlers atop her head that she sheds every season as well as a pair of long elven ears that that hear exceptionally well. Yura is very proud of her antlers and accepts them as part of who she is even if they were often a point of ridicule for her from her siblings. She also has a fluffy deer tail to complete the look. Yura does have normal human limbs though.

Her skin is predominantly carob brown coloured. Along her spine though she does have a very silky soft patch of "fur" that is a darker umber colour and runs down and thickens as it reaches her tail and rump. There is some scarring across her arms and torso as well from living a harsh life in the wilderness but also from quite literally butting heads with other males of her kind.

Yura tends to wear a lot of pelts for warmth and isn't very keen on wearing jewellery or embellishments. Anything flashy just has the opportunity to get in her way as far as she is concerned.

Personality

• Loner: Yura keeps to herself and rarely has opportunities to interact with others. When she does she comes off as standoffish due to her shier and quiet nature. She much prefers to keep her thoughts to herself and her sentences short and to the point.
• Steadfast: She is a strong and hearty woman built for endurance with strong muscles and determination that has carried her far in life. She's made it this far almost completely on her own and she intends to keep going forward until she can't anymore. There is no point in getting stuck in the mud because you stopped to look back and wonder what might have been.
• Pride: Yura knows how to take care of herself and holds her head high. She is proud, confident, and determined to the very end. As such insult to her person or her skills don't usually go over well with her.
• Patience: Nothing in life comes easy and Yura knows that firsthand. She will wait as long as it takes for a trap to be filled or her prey to come into view before letting her arrow loose. When she's had enough though you'll be sure to know it.
• Courage: While shy, Yura is no meek woman. She will defend herself and it will hurt you. Her antlers are not just for show but are a powerful weapon that she knows how to use quite skillfully.
• Quick Response: Her first instincts may be to run and retreat but tread lightly, if you corner her and leave her no out then you won't part from her unscathed. At the first sign of a threat she will make her choice and run with it. When you have no one but yourself to look out for you, there isn't much to think on and consider if the only viable option is survival.
• Protection: That being said there is still a heart within her and she is not completely without compassion. She has a soft spot for the downtrodden, the weak, and the young. She has been known to help and nurture injured animals or lead a lost child back to some form of civilization.
• Aggression: There is a point with Yura when enough is enough. She's chosen a life living alone for a reason and it is not because she enjoys being lonely or thinks she's better than anyone else. She has a short fuse and will rile up easily if she feels she has been insulted or is being threatened. A stamping foot or shake of her antlered head is some of the only warning you'll get you've gone too far.

Things

• Has been mistaken for an elk before and been shot more than once by a careless hunter because of it..
• Has an impressive case of RBF...or maybe she just really is that grumpy all the time...
• Has considered being a shepherdess of some sort with some of the local cervidae population but really has no idea how to go about it and so usually just follows their paths and tries to steer clear of their heads.
• Will straight up break bones over being called Lyosha or similar insults.

~Force of nature: Yura is definitely intune with the weather. She'll shrug it off if questioned and just say it comes from practice and living in a place where a sudden change in the weather could be life or death for you. And she certainly wouldn't go so far as to say that she has any form of control over the weather. But, whether it's the weather that controls her or her that can influence the weather there is definitely a connection between her moods and what is going on around her.

Relationships

Family: She hasn't seen her family in over a decade and isn't likely to see them again any time soon.

History

Yura was born Lyosha and had parents and siblings just like many other people that grow up in the frozen northern lands. When she was old enough she followed her father like her brothers before her and learned the whaling life at sea. She often butt heads with him and her brothers though as she longed to join her mother and sisters that followed the trapping lines on land instead. It eventually caused a rift and strain in the family to the point that when she was 15 she left her family and hasn't seen them since. She changed her name to Yura and is living her life alone but free to do as she pleases, a sacrifice she was more than willing to make.
