Alucard looked back at Marcus with a mask of non-expression, "I was thinking Umbra would be best for him as well. It was always been a tradition to elevate one from each year to the Rank of Umbra. If anyone deserves it, it's him. For those of you who aren't aware, Atlas was from the Year of Fledgelings that were elevated to the Ranger Corps two months prior to the attack of Cleara Verdad. He is also the only one from that year to survive the conflict. As unfortunate as that is, it shows great strength and skill." Alucard was never one to put personal things before professional things, but he couldn't help but realize that if Atlas was raised to Umbra, he would spend large amounts of time away on missions. Away from Rowan as well.
"We have two supporters for Umbra, are there any who oppose?" Came the low voice of the king. There came some dissent, mostly about his age. When no one else came forward, King Kinder spoke again, "Very well, I have heard what you all have to say, Please bring Atlas back in." It didn't take long. "Ranger Atlas, Your Fellow Rangers have deemed you worthy of to Join the Umbra Regiment. For the next eight months, you will undergo intense training, after witch you will have a month of rest before your first Umbra Ranked Mission. Do you accept?"
The shock was still evident on the young Ranger's when he was questioned, "Yes. Absolutely. It's an honor."
King Kinder made a slightly bemused grin, "You'll need someone to train you, Umbra Ranger Grog Strongjaw, come forward." A second later, a bald man with unnaturally white skin popped into existence beside Atlas. Baring his full height, the man was probably under seven feet tall, with the the bulk to match. The man made no noise as he came to attention. The most noticeable thing about him was his eyes, pupil-less and they seemed to radiate a small amount of white light. "Will you train Ranger Altas?"
The low voice of the giant responded, his answer filled the room no less than if someone had shouted, "It'd be my pleasure, Ser."
The King nodded, "Very well, you two leave in a week. This Ranger Trial is over. Good luck Atlas. Shadows guide you." With that, the King teleported out of the room.
