Eli graciously took the invitation to sit, having to adjust his flowing clothes under him.
Stillness filled the room while the quietness fell once again. It was raining outside, casting the room in a queer dark light. All of this combined was... depressing. Where there had once been beautiful music was now filled with a cacophony of silence, as unnatural and invasive as only the lack of something could be. He didn't like it, it felt so unnatural, the main reason he didn't try to fill it with something, anything, was out of respect for Theo, who had to live with silence forever.
That had been a major failing to him. When Theo fell ill. He- on some level -blamed himself for the loss Theodore suffered from the illness that Eli couldn't prevent.
After a while though, Eli couldn't stand such an oppressive and hostile silence. He didn't have the patience of will that his master did. An elbow gently prodded Theo in the side, getting him to look up, "I've been getting better." The Fae put his hands to the ready position and began to play a very emotional song. It started out slow, somber, almost sad. Several bars later and the pace opened to something more, it was wonderment and glimpses of happiness. By time he reached the end, Eli was happy that he had only made fourteen mistakes. An all time low for this song! But the music itself lacked the depth that Theo could play forth from the keys.
"How did I do?" Eli asked as his hands fell away.
