"The only safe place for any elf. To the trees! I hope you liked that last time!" He said in a short moment of warning and suddenly the wind whirled around them again. This time the gap was larger as they reached the edge of town and suddenly the air took them off from the roof and Theiryk's grip held onto her tightly, pulling them both up into the air.
They became one with the wind, in Theiryk's shared power, their forms blurring, whirling almost as if they simply vanished from sight. But this time the distance was greater and the rush toward the tops of the trees, exhilarated the Wild Elf to yell out a brilliant Whoop of excitement. The distance was at least a mile and a half away from Banridge and if the criminals were dogged enough to keep their pursuit, they had an advantage of distance.
Theiryk landed just on a massive branch, their forms materializing once more, and he pulled her up onto the branch beside him, helping her keep her balance. He couldn't help himself. He was grinning ear to ear at her for a few seconds before it promptly vanished and he cleared his throat, resuming his stern look.
