The week prior to one of her sister's balls, and even little get-together's, was always hectic. It seemed to her that everyone was on edge and clearly out of there minds, and it was all she could do to get a little alone time away from the madness before she got roped into helping with one thing after another. Most evenings she was able to slip away, at least, if nothing more. It was such a breath of fresh air to get out of her home; it became so stuffy with all the preparations going on and it stirred up dust more than anything she'd ever known.
Under her dark cloak and hood were the simple, but finely-made clothes of her station as the High Lady's sister. Her dark, wavy hair was pulled back into a half-pony to keep out of her face as she looked out at the streets, though she was not aware of her small earrings catching the sun every few steps. She really had no reason to be out besides her own curiosity, so she tried to look as unassuming as possible as she casually strolled along in the beginning of the sunset's light.
She was happy to be relaxed for once. Everyone around her at home were particularly snappy today with their stress. It was a relief to be able to go about her business silently watching passersby as she wandered the streets. She was smiling privately at the giddy thought that she was practically invisible. There was no one to recognize her, for she would never wear such a covering at home, and if she were out with her sister she never wore the hood up. Naively, she thought that would be enough to conceal herself to her satisfaction of "invisible."
Truly, though, most people simply seemed too busy going about their own lives to care. There was shopping to be done and people to chat with, and she was there to witness all that she could before it became boring, dark, and cold. The only ones who seemed to have an inkling of her presence were the children that darted through the streets and between legs of adults if they came close to colliding with her. Simply amused, Kailinna moved herself to the edges and shadows where she hoped to have an easier time of blending in.
