The young boy's eyes twinkled with pride for his praise and he nodded eagerly as he turned to look to Sor. Completely unaware of his fumblings, he studied him a moment more before turning to Tarj, gesturing at the older boy excitedly.
His mentor chuckled softly, studying the pair with a particular warmth as he leaned his cheek against his palm. "I was watching. You did very well, my model student."
"I'm your only student," Sulak complained lightly, slumping a bit for his mentor's moment of playfulness.
Tarj laughed, sitting up straighter to ruffle the boy's shimmering hair and give him a brief pat on the shoulder. "You did well," he repeated. "Be sure you tell him the details. I'm sure Siris can show him the particulars."
Sulak nodded, turning to Sor again and reaching up to brush white hair back slightly away from one ear for a final glimpse at his work. "Clean them every day with saltwater, but don't ever take them off, okay? Just turn them around a bit. Come see us in...three months?" He looked to Tarj for confirmation on that, perking up slightly once he nodded.
"Three months. I'll make sure you're healed," the boy promised.
